Tahoe #3

The Perfect View

Rate this book

This is book #3 in the Tahoe Series.

Adler Williams had been surprised with a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, by her boyfriend; but not in a good way. That was the last place Adler ever wanted to be. She was not a woman who enjoyed camping or the outdoors in any way. While trying to return the camping supplies she wouldn’t be needing for this surprise trip, she meets a woman who loves the outdoors so much, she runs an outfitter’s shop in South Lake Tahoe.

Morgan Burns had watched her ex-girlfriend fall for and get engaged to her new girlfriend. Then, she’d watched her best friend get the girl of her dreams. When she visits Jackson Hole to plan a new store to her ever-growing chain, she meets a woman who is clearly not a fan of many of the activities Morgan holds dear.

The two women begin a long-distance friendship while they both attempt to navigate the newest hurdles in their lives: Adler’s relationship with her boyfriend and Morgan’s drive to expand her store empire. As Adler spends more and more time with Morgan, she begins to realize there’s more to her life than just work; or at least there can be, as long as she’s willing to risk her heart.

This was not bad, I guess. The characters were reasonably likeable, but something about the story just didn't click for me.
It's weird, there are a few of this author's books I absolutely love, but the rest is just meh

It's a good addition

This is the next installment in the Tahoe series and while I liked it and was really looking forward to it, it was not my favorite (the first one still takes the cake for me). Both main characters, Adler and Morgan, are very likeable and of course you have the whole gang making appearances. What I wasnt the biggest fan of was all the sex scenes. Dont get me wrong i like the steamy stuff but i felt like it was center stage for the book and there was a little less plot and character relationship development, with each other and others, because of it. I am looking forward to the next one. Fans will definitely Italy enjoy it and as a kU book right now I definitely say give it a read.

Let me preface this review with I like this author. She does a lot of things well, world building, character development, conversations, slow burn romance & steamy sex scenes. This book seemed to lack in it all, it seems a bit rushed. There's a tad bit of instalove. This also seems shorter than her other stories. Im giving it 2.75 stars, I wish this held up to her other novels.

Nicole Pyland is an amazing writer. She pairs her MCs flawlessly. She creates a strong group of friends. I love that the series is based off of the friends. I enjoy the angst She creates because it seems natural and the way she remedies it. I look forward to the last book in the series and the update on their lives. Can't wait for more books from her. She is always an author that I come back to for rereads.

This one was a rare miss for me by Pyland. That’s not to say it wasn’t a decent read, it just didn’t work for me. I was looking forward to Morgan’s turn at finding love but the way these two started out, I found hard to get behind. I think they had more sex than spoken words and this relationship didn’t seem plausible. Pyland is usually able to pull my heartstrings hard, but honestly with these two, I felt indifferent or just didn’t care. I am however looking forward to Chris in the next book. There seemed to be something there when she appeared briefly as the waitress. I wanted to know more.

Wowserz! This was a sizzling hot read... the relationship between Morgan and Addie is just so believable when it came to the troubles they faced together. Morgan sure got lucky with her straight girl encounter. 😏

I was looking forward to Morgan’s story. In the first book, I wasn’t quite sure why Kellen so quickly chose Reese over Morgan. They seemed like a better match. Though maybe Kellen understood that Morgan was bad news. Fortunately for Morgan, there is ever-resilient Adler to drive the plot

This was not my favorite book. I know that you can be in a relationship and meet someone and * sparks*, if that happens it’s because you are not happy in the relationship you are in and there’s where it gets complicated for me because how can you treat yourself like that, to be in a place you don’t want to be, making that decision every day.

Anyway, in this book the main characters met in an unexpected place at an unexpected time, but they made it work.

Being one of the MCs straight most of her life it was treated very well and not just as a “phase” for her to be with another woman.

*Workaholic characters.

This one was so different, beautiful settings and some serious angst then some really hot sex! Whoosh, I loved it.

Nicole Pyland just writes such great stories with joy I get to read them! The characters are dynamic and real, their stories so down to earth and the locations are outstanding. I truly want to meet these women and have them as friends.
Her writing style and skill is amazing. I encourage everyone to purchase this series, and suggest they do the same to their friends!

I have been excited to read this one. Morgan has been my favorite character since the beginning, and I have really been looking forward to her story. It was totally worth the wait!

Morgan and Adler are 🔥❤️‍🔥🥰
I mean, from their first meeting, their connection was electric! It really made this long-distance, toaster-oven romance super enjoyable to read! So good!

Great story

Loved the drama associated with the two main characters. Adler and Morgan’s life’s we’re alike but different. Both women were workaholics which added to the drama, of course the sex scenes were very descriptive and actually portrayed what really happens in a new woman to woman relationship.

Tahoe and Jackson Hole Are Very Romantic

Love at first sight really happens but a long distance relationship rarely lasts, especially for two workaholic women. I couldn’t wait to see how these two lovers resolve this issue. I wasn’t disappointed.
I highly recommend this book and the Tahoe series.

Sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know about yourself. And meeting the right one can bring things to light. It’s a sweet meeting of chance for Morgan and Adler. You can’t help who you fall for no matter what the circumstances. The thing you think you hate to do is sometimes just because the person you’re currently doing said thing with is not your person.

Just have to love how outgoing Morgan is to meet Adler the way she did. I can’t even imagine the whole long distance piece of their relationship.

Honeymoon escapades between two workaholic women in a long-distance relationship.

Adler/Addie Williams is a COO, on track to become CEO, for a food distribution company in Seattle. Her boyfriend surprises her with an anniversary camping trip to Jackson Hole, WV. He couldn't have missed the mark more handily if he'd tried because she envisioned spending their two week vacation sipping drinks at a beachfront resort. After one night of "roughing" it outdoors, Adler offers to return all their unused equipment to the outfitting store where it came from back in town. Morgan Burns, who happens to own a chain of outfitter stores back in South Lake Tahoe, came to the same store to check out her future competition. She's going to open the next Morgan Outfitters somewhere in Jackson Hole. They start talking and strike up a fast friendship. They form an instant bond over mutual business interests, but there is something decidedly personal going on between them. Morgan offers to show Adler a special sunset vista from her "favorite place in the world" that might charge her mind about the wonders of Grand Teton National Park. They spend Morgan's last night in Wyoming together in the awe inspiring beauty that Adler was dead set against experiencing with her boyfriend Brad. Their time together ends, but their brand new friendship is just beginning.

Nicole Pyland knows how to whip together the right romantic ingredients to create a moveable lesbian feast. Morgan and Addie face more than their share of stumbling blocks, but neither woman has ever felt what they do for each other. Coming out is less important to this novel than is getting together as the challenges of work and distance try to tear apart their burgeoning relationship. Pyland focuses the storyline on their monthly visits versus their time spent in separation. Though their emotional landscape has radically changed, their daily activities aren't that different from before they met. Morgan has the Lake Tahoe gang and her business ventures to fall back on. Adler relies on her younger lesbian sister and her campaign to make CEO to distract her from her new heart's desire. It would be easy to say that this story has been told before, but isn't that true of every other story. The real question is whether it's a well told tale or not. I'd say that it most certainly was and that it's going to continue in the upcoming installment to the Lake Tahoe series.

Good read

Like all of Pyland's books this is a great book. The only thing that bothers me is the reoccurring straight girl converted storyline. I mean are there no suitable lesbians out there? Other than that the characters are likeable. I was happy to see Morgan get happily ever after.

Morgan gets her person

I love these series and characters. I always look forward to the next installment. In this one Morgan finds her person and they have to figure out how to make a long distance relationship work, that is until they find it won't work and they need to evaluate their priorities and what life changes they are willing to make to be together.
Although I was rooting for the main characters and eating up the content involving the cast from previous books, I didnt feel this was one of the better installments. The plot was pretty narrow and didn't involve the other characters in the storyline very much. The beginning of the book felt contrived. The things the characters did and said didnt feel realistic at all. I also wonder how much editing was put into this book since something as straightforward as the name of one of the main characters was spelled wrong a half dozen times.
I do look forward to Tahoe book #4. The description sounds intriguing and since reading this book lays the groundwork for getting to that one, it was worth it.

Nicole Pyland is a consistently good author, writing stories that somehow I feel I can relate to (I don't camp and never been in a long-distance relationship.)

Continuing the Tahoe series, we find Morgan traveling to build up her family's outdoor sporting store empire. Morgan meets Adler who is in Jackson Hole with her boyfriend for a "surprise anniversary" trip. It turns out that Adler and Morgan strike up a quick and close friendship. Is Morgan failing for the straight girl?

The emotional rollercoaster of having a long-distance relationship comes through along with the sexual tension.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!
