This was my first time reading this author and it was such an awesome book I couldn't stop reading. The characters, plot and story drew me in and the word usage made me feel like a part of the story watching it all unfold. I loved Archer and Veronica they were a great couple with a instant chemistry and I loved watching them grow together. Archer/Daniel is in the witness protection program and Veronica is private investigator. There's drama, twists, turns, suspense, mafia, chemistry and romance. This is a definite must read for and fan and I highly recommend reading this book!!!! I can't wait to read more form this author!!!!

Witness to Love

Archer Janson (aka Daniel Johnson, Isaac Stephens) and Veronica "V" Neptune have an unconventional first meeting. I like it, and the turn things take as the story progresses.

This entire evening felt good. I hadn’t been treated like a woman in a long time, maybe never. I’ll admit, a lot of that was my fault, but I never thought it would feel good like this. And this scared me more than being stabbed nine times.
-- Veronica Neptune

It's a little farfetched in some regards, but it's still an entertaining read with some adventurous places to... enjoy. 🥵💦🎉

Okay, seriously, Archer is sexier than he has any right to be! On the one hand, he loves reading (he even read The Princess Bride to Veronica on their first date — swoon!), and is good with the kids at the public library where he works. But on the other hand, he's got muscles and a number of tattoos, is very eager to please Veronica, and is definitely not shy with the dirty talk. 😍 As for him and Veronica, they had explosive amounts of chemistry, and the sex scenes were steamy enough to fog up even Archer's Clark Kent glasses — and I'm not just talking about them doing the horizontal mambo! 😉

Other than that, the mystery was interesting but thankfully balanced enough as to not overpower the romance and developed enough as to not seem unrealistic on its own. The action scenes — what few there were — were well-done and not dragged out for too long. And maybe it was just me being so focused on Archer and Veronica (hardy-har-har, Ms. Rogue!), but I did not see that twist at the end coming. So, brava.

So, yes, more hot nerds please!

P.S. if ever y'all want to turn this into a movie, I think YouTuber The Act Man would be just perfect to play Archer. 😁

Overall Verdict: 10 public libraries out of 10.

Hiding In A Small Town

Archer helped the FBI take down a money laundering ring, now he’s in WITSEC and has a new identity. Veronica is a PI sent to arrest him and bring him back to Chicago. The more time spent together, the less she thinks he’s guilty of a crime. Will they figure things out before his past catches up to him?
This was a fun story to read filled with scenes so steamy they may have melted my iPad, a little bit of suspense and some laugh out loud fun. Check it out today!

This one was better than the first two in the series in some way, but still had some significant problems. So, still just 2 stars.

Archer (H) was an accountant, an FBI informant against a mob boss who has gone into WITSEC following the trial. He's starting over as a small town librarian under a new name in the tiny town of Jubilee Falls. Veronica (h), or V, is a PI and bounty hunter, put on Archer's trail to bring him in as a bail-jumping money launderer. When they meet, though, the connection is instant and V starts questioning her gut and her job. Can she trust him? Or is he just another person in her life with too many secrets?

Archer - the best part of the book. Granted, he had some hormone-driven TSTL moments himself, like introducing himself with his 'real' name because he was stunned by her appearance. Still, though, he was adorkable. Mathlete with muscles and glasses and tats and unicorn books at storytime - what's not to love? Plus, a male librarian, and it's always nice to see characters defying stereotype. And any guy who reads/recommends The Princess Bride gains major points from me (it's a personal favorite).

V was a whole head-and-shoulders better than the h characters in the previous two books in the series. So there's that improving. But, still, she was pretty weak as characters go. The way she handled her job was really frustrating. Aside from the questionable professionalism of sleeping with a target, she just seemed idiotically unprepared, to the point that I was wondering how the plot could have ever happened realistically. Like the only way this story would have worked at all was if she'd been as inexperienced and unprofessional as she was - actual experience would have derailed it all. I mean, it seems to me that if she's going to hunt for a skip, then maybe she would have done more research into the target. Something more than "he likes boxing" - things like the details of the case he was in, connections he has, all sorts of clues that might influence where he would or would not skip to. Above and beyond what would have been in the basic police file. Seems like that would be standard searching topics, but might also turn up that he was a witness in a case, and not a defendant, and with the nature of the case itself, might be a clue that he had a reason to disappear in the first place (even if it didn't immediately scream "He's in WITSEC!"). She had more intelligence and personality and self-preservation instincts than the previous two hs, but still seemed super naive and unprofessional. And the fact that the plot wouldn't have worked if she'd asked any questions prior to meeting and falling for him? Never a good sign.

Plus, the author was back to the 'random plot threads that went nowhere' (like in book 1). Here, we get all sorts of hints to V's past, why she's so untrusting, but never really get a backstory other than "she spends all her time at work hunting for cheaters and liars." She could be a divorce attorney in that case! But then there are these mysterious scars? No detail, just that she's shy and super-sensitive about them when they finally hook up. So why include that at all? Chekov's gun, people!

Minor editing issues - who's/whose, that sort of thing. A missing word here or there, too. Mostly very readable, though. Archer did think of V as "Veronica" at one point - before she's actually introduced herself with her full name. Which is funny, when in the Author's Notes, they talk about how it was confusing keeping a character with three names straight, but then they mix up the other character's names.

Alternating 1st person POV. No OM or cheating or love triangle drama. OW drama (and more) with the former boss's wife. Very weak premise and tons of insta-love buried under lots of secrets. Could have built up the suspense a bit more, to balance out the lack of actual getting-to-know-you elements in the story. As it was, I just never connected with their relationship. When the plot and the relationship both are weak, that's never a good sign. Still, I liked their HEA at the end. Cute epilogue with no cliffhangers.

Would I read more in this series? Probably not. I've read the first three now, and while the premise always starts well, they've each fallen flat and in a big way. Usually it's a good H but a badly written h. Maybe if it's another free find and I really need something new, but honestly? Not a series I'm going to seek out.

Archer and Veronica have an instant attraction to each other, and their relationship quickly develops. This book was great, and I was surprised with how much I really enjoyed Archer and Veronicas story. I love that there’s some suspense and action in the storyline. It’s also hot and steamy with a nice mix of romance. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but it won’t be my last.

Archer is an accountant in WITSEC. He helped the FBI bring down a bad guy who was using his business to run guns, traffic humans and drugs, launder money and be an over all scuzzy person. He was right hand man to one of the big mafia bosses. Now thanks to this Archer has a new name and job. He’s now a librarian named Daniel living and working in Jubilee Falls, Nebraska.

Veronica is a private investigator living and working in Chicago. She receives an email from Lt. Parson’s asking her to look for Archer on the down low. Claims he’s jumped bail and is a dangerous criminal. The jobs paying $25,000 so she gets to work looking for him.

Archer has a bounty on his head now which let’s face it isn’t really a shocked since he testified against some really bad people. Veronica has no idea that she’s actually helping the mob find and innocent man.

Daniel a.k.a Archer is a librarian in a small town in Nebraska. He is big with tattoos and wears glasses. The kids love them and the lady swoon twice a week for story time. He enjoys it. But he is lonely it is only been in town for a few months. And walks in the library is a petite blonde woman who is close attention. He’s attracted to her and she is unsure of him. She is of course a PI and bounty Hunter. Unbeknownst to him, he is attracted and wants her. They create a bond. But things get dicey and somebody is not telling the truth. A lot of things can happen in the library and then a small community that leaves a lot of steamy events and good meals. These two characters are well built. the environment leads to a HEA and no cheating of the heart. Money might be a little different. A good read.

I enjoyed this book. This is the story of Veronica and Archer/ Daniel. The connection between Archer and Veronica was instant, and their relationship quickly develops. Archer/Daniel is starting over with a new life and identity. Veronica is a PI and is offered a job with lots of money to find this Archer person and bring him in as he was to suppose to have jumped bail. Veronica doesn't know that Archer is in protective custody in WITSEC. This develop fast between them and she realized that he is in real danger and she will protect her man. A great story. The characters were written well with great chemistry.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️And a Half ⭐️‘S
Lip Locked In The Library is another great addition to McKenna Rogue’s Love Demands a Holiday Series. In this book we meet Archer/Daniel/Isaac, a boxing loving accountant with a Clark Kent vibe. Forced into Witness Protection for his part in bringing down a mob boss, he finds himself relocated to small town USA as a librarian; a role he fills nicely. Veronica Neptune is a spunky PI with a love hate relationship with love - she loves to hate the concept. Tricked into locating Archer, she finds him and can’t help but fall for his book loving, kiddie story time reading, charming self. What happens next is an adorable albeit eventful road towards their much deserved happily ever after. Add this charming book to your TBR list now.

This is a well written book with strong, well developed characters in Archer(Daniel) and Veronica. He's in the witness protection program after testifying against the mob. She's a private investigator hired to find him,not knowing she's actually helping the mob. It's instant attraction with a hot chemistry between them. The author brings suspense and intrigue as well as secrets and action and brings the story to life with the detailed scenes. She keeps you on the edge reading their story. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.

This was a totally unexpected suprise, and I loved every minute. From the very start of the book I was drawn into the intregue and suspense. The fast paced story, strong characters, and chemistry / passion between Archer/Daniel and Veronica kept me glued to the pages and wanting to know what happened next.

Can a WITSEC protectee and P.I. ever have a chance at a life together or will their pasts keep tearing them apart? You truly NEED to read this book!

Archer has settled into a new town after going into WITSEC but all that is about to change as he learns there are people in town after him and presumes it is his old boss. This is compounded by the fact that V turns up and Archer is very taken by her but no body is as they seem. There is intrigue, mystery and some serious flirting and steamy scenes to keep you enticed and wanting to know where things will go for V and Archer as well who is behind trying to track him down.

Suspenseful, romantic read with two very distinctive characters. Daniel is trying his best to blend and begin his new life, while Veronica is a P.I. hired to bring him home for justice. Great twists built in that keep you guessing as who to trust and can you ever have a normal life when hiding from your old life. Instant attraction that breaks all the rules for Veronica and Daniel, leaving them with few choices to get their HEA.

I enjoyed this new "Love Demands a Holiday" story! It's a fairly quick read that that is fast paced and very captivating. Archer and Veronica's story is full of suspense, intrigue and steam. There is instant attraction and great chemistry between them. He is an accountant that after helping the government bring down a real scum is put into WITSEC. Now he is a Daniel the librarian living in Jubilee Falls. Veronica is a PI from Chicago who has been hired to find Archer. She does not realize what she is getting in the middle of. Very good story!
