Writing is overall on the simple side but the story is compelling and MY GOD this is probably the slowest slow-burn I have ever read and it has made me go absolutely insane, in a good way of course cuz this slow progress has made me realize I really love when the romance takes its time to build up. The couple got me absolutely giddy just being in the same room and saying one sentence to each other, which is like whoa I'm so invested in them and I could just imagine how cute they'd be in the future. Overall the characters are mature and grow into themselves before diving into any relationship which I appreciate so much and I highly recommend it.
Another slice of life story about a transmigrator with two instant kids who decided to live as a single mom and started her own business. The setting however was in the early '90s when China was moving on to the One Country, Two Systems policy after Hong Kong and Macao were handed over back to them. It's also the era when China decided to practice the China Western development. I somehow was more invested in the history of China rather than the plot itself.
Finally an actually independent (not sassy or antisocial) female protagonist with no threats of sexual assault or other traumatic experiences. I should give this 5 stars just for that.
This is a story about a transmigrated person taking over the body of a victim, avoiding all the stupid tropes, and focusing on taking care of herself and her children far far away from all the drama. This protagonist is kind and generous but not excessively. She also acts decisively against those who attempt to disrupt her peaceful life. The romance happens much farther into the story and doesn’t change who she is (it’s not a typical domineering (rapist) ML). They are both independent people with separate established lives.
The synopsis makes this novel appear comedic, it’s not. This is a story about a woman slowly building her business while raising her children and infrequently face slapping. The author tries to keep things realistic to some extent. The translation is unedited and inconsistent, but reasonably well done even considering the many errors.
This isn’t the most exciting novel. I wouldn’t recommend this unless you’re specifically interested in something like this. The authors intention for this novel appears to be subverting all of those dramatic, tragic, and face slapping subplots/tropes. I enjoyed this quite a bit, but the pacing is very slow and can be boring at times.

I love this book. It's very relaxing slice of life that has plenty of little bits of drama. Very satisfying to watch as the heroine grows her business and takes care of her family.
It’s an entertaining transmigration story. There are good blessings for good people and timely karma for the selfish and wicked. Can’t ask for much more!
The usual soap opera drama with crappy family & rivals for conflict. Otherwise, this LN was a wholesome story about a woman striving for independence and financial security for her family. I need to earmark a future rabbit hoke search into Chinese recent history. I know a chunk of this LN was based on 90's economy & government. It reads more like weird fiction though.
The cover is terrible and hilarious. 😆 There was no surfing in the story. Just in case anyone was wondering. 🤣
Transmigration - Poor to Rich - Dumpy to Pretty - HEA
It's an entertaining story with a happy ending typical of transmigration stories. It's ideal if you want to read something not too complicated, a likeable protagonist and a good ML.
I read through the machine translation. It's quite adorable. I like how the author actually showed the struggle of losing weight as opposed to suddenly having a dream body within a week of making the decision of losing weight. My favorite part was how considerate she became of her children, and didn't jump into a relationship without thought. Both the MC and ML took their time, it was not a insta-love. Best of all, there was none of that rape and abusive bullshit that is so prevalent in web novels.
