She is from a water planet. His people were forged in fire. Will their union be lethal or the greatest pleasure either of them have ever known?

Felicity already knows she is going to hate the cocky alien asshole who won her body on the auction block in the Hub. When he comes to collect his prize, she sees the ruined flesh that covers his face and arms as well as the flames still burning beneath the surface. Her hatred turns to fear as she confronts the reality of mating with that ball of fire.

Cyndar knows the Earth woman wants him. He can see the wide-eyed glares and sneers she’s giving him, all mating signals in his species, the Smolds. Yet when he goes to lie with the human, he finds her unwilling and combative. His duty is to repopulate his home planet of Brucia, and he is determined to do so at any cost. But he feels the flames within him rage when she is near, and he wants her to want him in return.

Will Cyndar learn how to appeal to Felicity before her contract is nullified and she is forced to go back to the auction block? Will Felicity discover that there is more to Cyndar than his burnt exterior and eyes of coal?

Strong female and male characters who have a lot to learn about each other if they are every to make it to a HEA. This book ends on a cliffhanger and left me wanting more, such as the next book in the series to see where they go from here. It’s an intriguing plot and a joy to read.

Most interestingly, when we meet Cyndar, he is not a likable guy. Not just based on his prior actions, but even the peek inside of his mind we get during his initial POV chapters, he is not remotely likable. Even Felicity only finds hope in him after a failed attempt to try to physically harm him! But he's only become what his father has made him, and he does want to be better. Impressively, He gains a bit of the reader's sympathy, or at least gains back likability.

Though a quick story, it does progress the overall story arc considerably. Cyndar and Felicity's relationship has its moments, but the development of their relationship isn't quite as strong as the action. The Revolution is in place, The Ardan has plans to escape, and Cyndar has major dirt on Slep! In addition to the action, a big draw is getting a look at the Smold culture and... well, just how exactly the Smold work. And while the ending may be a cliff hanger, it stops at such an interesting precipice that leaves the reader both exhilarated with excitement and emotionally conflicted.

“Cynder” takes us back on the Hub for Cynder and Felicity’s tale. Because of an incident on the rim at the hub, the space station lost all of the abducted humans so they are left with the humans in the entertainment section to auction. Cynder is a Smold prince looking for an “unused” breeder that he can love. Enter Felicity, a well-used human from the entertainment section who just wants a chance at a family. This tale has a slow start but starts getting interesting quickly. This tale is well written and character development is more interesting in the variety of aliens on board. Cynder’s body is comprised of molten lava covered (when he’s calm) partially in human skin and Felicity could get burned. This is an entertaining tale with humorous moments. This tale ends in a cliffhanger and is a good addition to the series. It also gives you some of the backstory for Ardan from “Ignis” book 2.

This was a great read for me. I found the characters intriguing and very well developed. While I'm not a fan of cliffhangers, this book with its interesting characters made me not really care about that. I found them so interesting that I kept wanting to know more and loved their interactions.

Not sure if it’s because the series is coming to an end but this book was short and straight to the point. The insta-lust/love happened in a nano second. One minute Felicity is screaming bloody murder at Cyndar then next minute they are all over each other. Unlike the other women so far in the series that were purchased as soon as they more or less hit the planet, Felicity was sent to the Entertainment Sector where she serviced multiple clients on a daily basis.

With the ensuing chaos left behind by Petra and Tonx procuring new earth women may be at a stand still. For those patrons left behind they must now choose from the women that once did not make the auction block.

Felicity was pretty pragmatic about her situation while she inwardly hoped her new owner would treat her kindly she mentally prepared herself for the worse.

Cyndar was very upset at having to sort through the “dregs” for his mate. While outwardly he put on the persona that he just wanted his new acquisition to help repopulate his planet, he really wanted a mate and equal.

These two join forces pretty quickly as they had a common enemy in Slep. With Slep’s world disintegrating before his multiple eyes he’s is even more dangerous and vicious. Felicity, Cyndar and the other cohorts in the upcoming revolution had better be prepared for things to go sideways in a hurry.
