There’s only one rule in this business: don’t fall in love.
Getting romantically involved always brings trouble, and I already have plenty of that working for Eric Santone.
This job requires focus and a lack of morals, two things I undoubtedly have. Until the beautiful bartender I’ve been watching for the last year needs help.
I can’t fight the instinct to protect Michelle… Or my desire for the woman who’s too damn good to get involved with the likes of me.
Secrets. Lies. Backstabbing. Death.
It’s all just part of this gig.
But I never could have anticipated how deeply entangled the girl of my dreams really is in all this mess, or what I’ll do to protect her.
This is a prequel t o the series by the same name. One rule of the mob is to never fall in love. Joe and Michelle meet when he saves her from being mugged during a robbery. If you like mob related books you'll enjoy this book. A great start to the series but be warned that you're left with a cliffhanger. A little drama and lots of danger. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is a short read that introduces Michelle, a lawyer turned bar tender; Joe , Bryan, and Donny who work for the mob, and Eric who is the don for the mob the boys work for. The guys get in a little trouble and one of Michelle’s Friends helps them out. The story goes on in the Mob Ties: A Bad Boy Mafia Romance Books 1-6. If you like Mafia romances stories, then you will like this prelude to the Box Set. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
Well written, fast-paced, great storyline, drama, suspense, mystery, violence, and plenty of chemistry... everything you need from a mafia romance book.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Lots of twists and turns in this great read, some parts of the storyline could be embellished but seems to rush on a bit. Very likeable characters with lots of depth to them. I had a short free prequel to this story which helped me to see why Joe Mancini was who he was and why. Joe Mancini was an enforcer for Thomas Santone who he met in Central Park while busking. Thomas is the mafia Don Santone the boss. Michelle had worked her way up and passed the bar and was a lawyer with nowhere to go and becomes a barista in a bar 90’s Rock. Who meets Joe Mancini who then saves her from two mysterious strangers trying to rob her. A really good read hence the 5 stars ⭐️ I would highly recommend this read I voluntarily read and reviewed this book after receiving a free copy
Michelle finds out that there are still some sweet, handsome men in the world who know how to care about a woman and Joe who has been coming to the bar where she works for over a year and seems to check every box. Ok, so what could possibly happen if Michelle and Joe got to know each other better? Well, Joe has been working as a Mafia enforcer since he was barely a teenager and, wait, there is more as someone is apparently trying to kill Michelle. I enjoyed this book and found myself rooting that the two would find happiness despite all the obstacles that seem to be against them This was my first book by this author but I have added her to my list of "go to" authors.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
I hate when authors do this. Put the whole story in just 1 book. This is crap and it never said anything about any other parts. This is why a lot of people don't try new authors. Stop it.
This was a good book, I loved the story behind it, it took me sometime to get through it, but overall I’m happy with the ending. Can’t wait to read what’s next.
Michelle is a bartender and one night when she is being robbed Joe steps in and saves her. She is stunned as he beats the robbers up for going after her. Michelle thinks that'll be the last she sees of him until the next night when he shows up again. Across town asking for help for a friend Michelle get a doctor friend to help but Joe doesn't go into detail about what happened. They share a kiss and then he disappears into the night. Joe's boss warns him about going after revenge on anyone just yet but will it be enough to stop Joe? Did he bring trouble to Michelle?
This is a great start to this series I can't wait to read more. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
This one left me with questions I am sure will be answered in the rest of the series. This one centers around a bartender/lawyer who is held up at gunpoint and then defended...violently...by a man who has sits quietly in her bar reading the paper instead of electronics. She is left with questions and even more when the next day after they are involved in a car explosion nearly 100 miles away they show up on her front lawn with one of them injured and near death. Oh my...Mob Ties is right but what are they going to do. There is definitely chemistry but Joe and Michelle and Joe knows he cannot drag her into anything. Oh, what is going to happen in the next book? Guess I will have to grab that one.
This is a quick read about Joe who is in the Mafia along with 2 of his friends. Joe goes to a bar for a drink and sees two guys pull a gun a Michelle the bartender and he puts an end to it. Michelle knows that Joe is one sexy dark man and only wishes she knew him better. Joe believes once a marked man he should not fall in love a bring his world into their theirs. After another crazy night they end up with sharing the best kiss they ever had and Joe walks away! You are left with a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see what trouble Joe and his friends get into. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This was my first read by Nova Rain. I received a copy of this book by signing up for a newsletter. This was a very quick read. More like a prequel to the series. Just to get to know the characters and to get a taste of the storyline. I enjoy a good Mafia read. This one started off catching my attention. It had the feel of all the dark secrets of a good Mafia story. But for me there were things that didn't line up or felt out of place. And I don't want to say to much because I don't want to give any spoilers. I did like the writing style of this author.
This is a short fast paced novella. The author brings strong characters and sets the scenes for the next book beautifully and in vivid detail. She brings drama, violence and danger as well as the attraction and chemistry between Michelle and Joe. It's a well written book with an entertaining story line and is a great start to a new series. I enjoyed reading and am looking forward to the next boo.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
There were many elements of this story that I liked and there were many that didn't work for me. There was a lack of cohesiveness that I was looking for which made it harder for me to connect with the story and the characters.
That being said, I can see that this author has potential as the story did keep me intrigued and that is a bonus. It was a very short read and I hope in the next one that there is more character development and explanation in the story.
I enjoyed this book. Michelle finished law school, after school she was offered job at law firm but she declined, she didn't want to be a secretary there....now she works as a waitress in a bar, where she meets Joe, what she doesn't know is the job he does. She is not a happy person when she finds out what he does for living. He will do everything in his power to keep her alive, will this be enough?
Excellent Series Starter! Joe Mancini fights his attraction to Michelle, a lawyer turned barista to pay the bills. Michelle knows she shouldn’t get involved with a bad boy but her heart isn’t listening. Intriguing, fast paced Mafia drama with a cliffhanger. I look forward to reading the next book. Enjoy! I received an advance copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
I enjoyed the storyline with the bad guy being attracted to the wrong kind of girl. There was some mild violence but nothing to bad. My only issue was how fast the book ended. I think there should have been a better ending not cut off so sudden like in the middle of a chapter or something.
This was a very entertaining book. It was very well written with plenty of suspense and passion that kept me turning the pages. You will not be disappointed. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
The writing really drew me in; I really enjoyed the story and the characters. However, the short length and cliffhanger at the end make this more of 'first part in a serial' than a full book. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This was a quick and entertaining read. I really liked it. It does end on a cliffhanger of sorts. Joe and Michelle are some strong characters and I cam’t wait to see how their story turns out. There is quite the bit of action already happening.
Joe's face explains it all. He and his two buddies are always on the fringe of mayhem and he's tired of it. He rescued a damsel in distress in a bar he goes to from would be robber and it just gets better with the dialog and plot. Can't wait for next book.
This is a prelude to the full story. This was a page turner and a lot of action from the start. Michelle is a struggling attorney that takes a job as a bartender. Two thugs try to rob her and Joe steps in to take care of the two. A car explosion and more to come to keep your interest.
I read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I don't really read a lot of MF genre anymore but there's just something about badboys. I love the characters and storyline on this one. I feel it's a great start for a new series.
This was a quick read that left me with lots of questions. I like where the Author is going with Joe and Michelle and needed more. This felt like a good introduction to what's to come, so I am looking forward to reading future installments and getting my questions answered.
