Listening Length: 11 hours and 35 minutes.

Spitfire disgrace Matthieu Boudreaux has one wish: to age out of the Pedigree he despises, then destroy it. With one year left before he achieves the first step of his goal, Matthieu finally has some hope for an independent future. That is, until a surly Amethyst dragon by the name of Geoffrey Drake and his entourage show up at Matthieu’s cloister and inform him he’s been selected to be part of an "experiment".

Geoffrey Drake, proud and stuffy legal counsel for the Amethyst clan, has been charged with ruining his own life. His mission? Deliver a potential mate to the son of the Amethyst clan’s most despised enemy - and the man he’s loved in secret for the last hundred years - Topaz dragon Ian Brand. Refusal is impossible. Dragons don’t consort with dragons, and should Geoffrey decline, he risks exposing them both.

Ian Brand, charming black sheep of the Topaz clan, is trapped between his forbidden love for an Amethyst dragon centuries his senior and his duty to his family. Chosen by his unhinged father to be the Topaz candidate for the mating experiment, Ian is faced with a terrible choice: run away with the man he loves and face the deadly consequences or accept his fate with a broken heart.

But dragon magic - as Matthieu, Geoffrey, and Ian soon discover - works in mysterious ways. When an unforeseeable circumstance draws them all together and puts their futures at risk, they have no choice but to set their differences aside and work together to prove a new, startling truth....

What the dragon world knows about mates has been wrong all along, and it will be up to the three of them to prove it.

Please note: Mate is a steamy omegaverse romance involving male pregnancy that will leave you in stitches. It contains an experiment gone awry, five eccentric peacocks, an unusually large number of whelps, an ancient Viking Daddy dragon, and science! For maximum enjoyment, Mate is best listened to following the events of Clutch and Bond.

Piper Scott debuted as a trio of authors looking to write together for fun. Their collaboration led to three novella-length books (Love Me, Save Me, and Keep Me,) before life sent them in different directions, leaving just one author with an omegaverse plot bunny that wouldn’t leave her alone. Left to her own devices, Piper Scott writes scorching but heartfelt contemporary omegaverse romance about men you can’t help but fall in love with.

REVIEW TO COME

There is no better feeling than reading a smutty romance book after binge-reading fantasy novels😌

Audio- 5++++++ Stars! Michael Ferraiuolo out did himself. His performance of 6 + accents and too many personality types to count, was beyond OUTSTANDING! Gifted, talented etc...doesn't begin to describe Michael Ferraiuolo as a narrator.

Story 3.5 Stars.

Fun, fun, fun, story! The peacocks were hilarious. And I was super grateful for every scene that included Harry! 😍😍😍

It is me and not the book. I usually stay away from ménage because for me, I very rarely feel like they are equal. 🙂 I loved the heck out of the first two books in the series but when I found out the third one I’m dying to read was a ménage, it really made me hesitant to read this one. And that’s why it took me this long to get to this one. 🤷‍♀️

I enjoy ménage when I feel like all partners are on equal ground. For example, M.A. Innes’ puppy play series. That one was spectacular. For example, in that series, the two MCs who are already in a relationship knows they want a third because they are both puppies and they want a master. So the relationship dynamics of them worked for me. Here though, Geoffrey and Ian were already deeply and madly in love and they would have been fine with just each other if their hands were never forced. I feel like Matthieu’s presence in their relationship is more out of necessity and biology than real genuine feelings. 😶 As always, the storyline preposterous and the characters even more hilarious and witty. And I enjoyed it but it’s just because I love the side characters. I’m looking forward to the next generation of Drake dragons though, especially a love story between Julius and Darwin and hopefully they will be a monogamous couple. 😉

This is my favorite of the series thus far... it just totally had everything. Three incredible MCs, lots of humor, incredibly hot sexy times, lots of old friends from books one and two showing up as well as a lot of new interesting people throughout the book. I do think that it started a bit slow, but once it picked up I was totally hooked, so much so I stayed up till 2am last night reading it. I was happy to read in the notes at the end of this book that the authors are planning for more set in this world! I can't wait to see what they come up with next! I totally LOVED this book!

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! This is one of the best series I’ve read this year and these books are going on my favourites TBR.

The Narration: Y’all already know how much I love Michael Ferraiuolo and I’m gonna say his talent is superb and I do NOT exaggerate. This man is able to take a scene with 10+ characters and transport you right into the scene and all with unique accents (and I do mean accents). He is by far the greatest narrator hands down and that’s on period.

I think this was my favorite of the three and truthfully, I am shocked and kind of don’t even know who I am right now.

Me, liking the book with the threesome the best. What?

It’s true. And it was really hot as fuck.

I normally am just so not into M/M/M romance and this one, once I found out, I thought for sure I would not like. I just could not see Geoffrey and Ian adding a third. I didn’t want them to add a third.

Gah! Really. I was so very into this.

This book wrapped everything up perfectly and gave us a beautiful and on fire romance.

Welcome to the family Matthieu!

So good.

Let me first say, I have absolutely loved this series and I honestly don't know why I put off reading it. I love these dragons and their mates.

I never really got a feel for Geoffrey in the previous books so I wasn't sure what to expect in this one. I ended up really liking him. I absolutely LOVED Ian. So freaking hot, alpha taking charge *fans self* . But, I never really cared all that much for Matthieu. I definitely warmed up to him but it was about 50% before, really the whole book, finally grabbed me.

I love menage books and even more multiple partners, but everyone needs to be on equal footing and I just felt for the first 50%, Matthieu was just a prop. I loved Geoffrey and Ian's relationship and was rooting for them all the way, so when Matthieu was introduced as a "have to" it broke my heart. I have never liked a third being introduced into an established relationship for just erotic purposes and it kind of felt like that to me in the beginning. And even though the three do grow in their relationship, it took me a long time to connect with them as a throuple. I liked it better with just Ian and Geoffrey.

But, it was still a good edition and I know there's a spinoff series to continue on with this world and I'm off to read about Daddy Grim ❤️

Best Ménage EVER!!!

This has to be my favorite MMM book I have ever read. I’m not kidding.
ITS AMAZING!!
IT’S HAF!
FUNNY,
CUDDLY,
DRACONIAN,
FLUFFY,
EGGY,
Full of riches, secrets, love and baby dragons.

Really, what more can you ask for?

This was my FAVORITE of the series BY FAR...and I LOVED THE OTHER TWO!!!

All three MCs were amazing, but I’ve got to give it up for Ian and his amazingly dirty talk in bed. Wow!!

If you’ve yet to start on this series, get going! Read them in order and be ready for dragonlicious fun!

Definitely my favourite in the series.

Why?

.) Geoff and Ian’s situation is impossible to start with. But then it gets more and more complicated with virtually every chapter. I was totally captivated.

.) Loved the dynamics between Geoff and Ian, and how their relationship becomes so much more once Matthieu is added to the mix. And there’s no doubt that all three men are equals, with no one left out.

.) These three guys together are scorching hot.

.) For me, the extra dollop of angst in this book worked brilliantly . But I expected maybe a bit more towards the end with regards to Ian’s father.

.) The humour is really spot on.
- Ev from book 2 outdoes himself by addressing Matthieu with drinks names (“rum and coke overloaded with slices of lime”).
- Snorre (one of the oldest dragons around)who behaves like a very funny naughty child made me really grin.
- Loved all the dragon jokes and …
- It’s lines like this that made chuckle again and again:
“Steve (the iguana) flicked his tongue. It brushed Harry’s cheek. Harry closed his eyes and buried his face against the lizard. Ian couldn’t recall the last time he’d seen a man so overjoyed by the risk of salmonella.”

.) The baby dragons are (still) adorable.

.) Lots of questions from books 1 and 2 are answered.

However, I wasn't quite so happy with …

… the insta-ish love between the three guys at the beginning.
… how easily everything fell into place at the end.
… the overload of people and names towards the end.

This is a very enjoyable book, no doubt about that! and it's certainly a very well-done m/m/m romance.
The whole series is full of humour and fun and fitted my present reading mood perfectly!

4.5 stars! I loved this one just as much as the others, and honestly? Before I started, I was sure I wouldn’t. I read very little romance with multiple partners, and it’s even more rare that I absolutely love it. I’m not a good share-er myself, so it’s a concept that’s difficult for me to buy completely. Added to that, in the previous books, Geoffrey was the least appealing of the brothers for me. Boy did the authors fix that.

This was just as hilarious and sweet as as first two books but it also had the addition of heartbreak and in one scene, some particularly well done terror *I was genuinely frozen while reading*.

And I’m almost sure I was remiss in mentioning this in my other reviews, but this was freaking hot as, well, dragon-fire. 🔥😉

I enjoyed this series so, so much, and I’m really looking forward to more from this awesome universe!

They just get better and better.

From almost dying with laughter at Everard's use of alcoholic drinks when referring to Matthieu to the massively soppy ending of this book there wasn't one but I didn't love.

I want my own dragon clutch! But what I really love about these books is the subtle message in the narrative about never dismissing someone because of birth or status.

Not big on M/M/M but somehow this one worked.
Ian and Geoffrey have been having a relationship for over 100 years. Since their families are enemies, and since they are both alpha dragons, they had to keep their relationship a secret. So when Ian is picked for Harry's experiment their relationship is put in jeopardy. If Harry's theory is right, Ian will be matched with his mate. However, Mathieu is quite the surprise to both Geoffrey and Ian.
This tied up things well.

While Bond remains my favorite in the series, I really enjoyed this final installment which wrapped up the continuing story very well and also did a good job of giving Geoffrey and Ian a HEA that I didn't expect.

I was surprised to find out that it was going to be a threesome, and frankly I did have a bit of a difficult time believing Matthieu was so easily and equally brought into Ian and Geoffrey's longtime relationship, but that was just a minor quibble that I was able to get over as thing progressed. Geoffery and Ian have great banter and their muster of peacocks was something else! Matthieu goes from angry Pedigree black sheep to smitten mate, but he never loses his edge, keeping Ian and Geoffrey on their toes. The three do have pretty hot chemistry when they get down to it.

This story really takes on the old Dragon ways, continuing to test Harry's theories on mating and uncovering plenty of secrets. I enjoyed seeing all the family again, and newcomer Snorre and his clan were quite fun to read. There is plenty of tension revolving around the three MCs and Ian's family is more awful than we already knew.

I'm happy to hear that there will be at least one spin-off since Julian and Darwin are just too cute for words.

What an epic story! And by “epic” I definitely mean both how amazing it is, plus the scope this story spans. The third installment of Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly’s Forbidden Desires series, Mate is the tale of the menage relationship between two Alpha Dragons and one Pedigree omega. Definitely read Clutch and Bond before jumping into this one.

Finding out Ian has to mate with an omega, who he will most likely bond with, is terrible news. Not only for Geoffrey and Ian, both Alphas, who have been lovers for years, but also for the omega, Matthieu, who has dreams of his own.

The opening scenes between these three are amazing, as they work their way through discovering how to get through this predicament. And watching them discover how it is possible for all three of them to be mated is a highlight of the story.

When the three face the stigma which surrounds their coupling, they are astonished to find so much support from smaller factions of their community. Of course, they have some huge obstacles to overcome, and find help in some unexpected places.

Mate is beautifully narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo and I truly don’t think anyone else could have done this story justice. Mr. Ferraiuolo’s skill at accents is unparalleled, and he must use them all in this episode. Always able to infuse humor into the funny bits, and heat into the sexy bits, Michael Ferraiuolo’s performance is spectacular.

Ms. Scotts and Ms. Kelly introduce some wonderful new characters in Mate as well as bringing back all the favorites from the first two books. Between the descriptions of the dragons’ hordes, the playful nature between the whelps, the laugh-out-loud humor of the peacocks, and the smokin’ hot MMM love scenes, Mate earns five huge stars!

Reread/relisten #2: April 2024

Idk why I am always hesitant to pick this one up, but once I do, I am not disappointed. This to me is an MMM done right with all the characters having chemistry rather than a couple with a 3rd.

Reread/relisten #1: May 2022

This family is one wild ride. I think this is one of the MMM romances that work with all the characters having chemistry.

Still loved it just as much as the first time.

And always love Harry showing up with his scientific nerdy ways!

Original Read/Listen: May 2021
Audio: 5 stars!
Book: 4-4.5 stars

Okay I think this might have been my favorite so far, I will say they just get better and better.

I was hesitant at first since I haven’t read many MMM books, and I didn’t know how this would go with an already established couple adding a new person to the mix, but this book didn’t disappoint! Matthieu fit in with Geoffrey and Ian perfectly.

The mpreg situation still gets me at times... mainly it still doesn’t work for me 100%, but I think for a series to get in to mpreg this is the one since I have yet to see a human baby be born out of the butt lol fingers crossed it stays that way, I think that wouldn’t work for me.

Also their fight they had was very reminiscent of the fight the Cullens did in Breaking Dawn lol finding people to back their cause against the higher powers haha loved it though

and I’ll say it once and I’ll say it a million times more Michael Ferraiuolo is perfect, not only for these books but his narrations make any series that much better! His accent and distinct voices for each character makes it easy to determine who’s talking and none of the accents take you out of the book like some other narrators for me have done in the past.

Okay now one to book 4(?) or maybe 1 of the new series, either way continuing with the Forbidden Desire series!

This was a case of love-at-first-fuck (okay, it was probably on second-fuck), that had nothing to do with love IMHO. I dislike menage and hoped this would be the book to change my mind about it, but it turned out not to be the case. Hot as it was, the feelings came so quickly and so out of the blue, that I couldn't trust them. Add in Snorre's polyamorous family which took more stage time than the rest of the Drake family, and it all became too much for me :(

I can't even with how AMAZING and well-written and sexyhotfun, and perfect this story was! I thought that there was no way that these two authors could top the sheer perfection that was Bond with Harry and Ev (My OTP), but not only did they do that - this might be my new favorite book in the series!

I definitely recommend reading this series in order, since even though each book focuses on a new couple, there is a lot of overlap and the overall story builds and comes to the climax in this book as far as the dragon council and bringing equality to omegas and Disgraced dragons. When I thought things would go one way, they went the other - just a testament to what a great author pairing this is. Seriously, I love these two authors on their own, but their co-writing process just seems stellar here.

I for one LOVED all of the buildup in the plot that Matthieu brought about with his two mates, Geoffrey the Amethyst dragon, and Ian the Topaz dragon. And yes, this is a threesome pairing, but Geoffrey, Ian, and Matthieu are total equals in this relationship, and the chemistry and emotions between the three is just unreal. Or, y'know, very, very real.

This series is just so imaginative and FRESH. Dragons! Meggs! I LOVE that the babies are dragons first. I love the animals that are also family members - HONK! Steve continues to steal scenes (OMG Thing 1 and Thing 2), Darwin is adorbs, HARRY IS A CINNAMON ROLL, Ev has new pet names! (and he and Harry are couple goals), and so many moments between Matthieu, Geoff, and Ian just made me want to either swoon or happy sigh. There are so many more moments I could say - but I don't want to spoil it for anyone, as this book deserves to be savored.

Fans of this series - this is a MUST read, drop what you're doing on the 18th and get to reading this amazing story. If you haven't read this series, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it, and I usually make pretty good recs, yes? Trust me on this one - read this series.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4.5 stars

Mate is the third book in the Forbidden Desires trilogy and the authors have really given us a fabulous final story. I have enjoyed all three books in this series, but Mate is definitely the standout. It not only pulls together the major plot threads from the first two books, but it expands upon the world building, along with giving us such a wonderful relationship between Geoffrey, Ian, and Matthieu.

While the first two books in the series overlapped a lot in timeline, Mate takes us to the aftermath of Harry’s revelations in Bond. We now know that rather than be undesirable, the so-called Disgraces are actually the ideal mates to the Alpha dragons. Not only that, but they are actually part dragon themselves. This story then explores the aftermath as Ian is forced to be part of Harry and Everard’s research and mate with an omega dragon. The authors do a nice job here building the story upon the foundations of the earlier books, not just with regard to the Alpha/omega connection, but also to the larger concepts of the Council’s dated policies and views on love and mating. One of the things I have really enjoyed about the series as a whole is the creative world building, and that is explored particularly well here. I love all the fun little tidbits, especially the way that the different dragon clans express their namesake gemstone in appearance. We also get a chance to really delve into the politics and the science and the fight between the old and the new ways of thinking. The authors give the story a lot of urgency and excitement as these men are fighting for their lives on a personal level, while at the same time we are exploring the dragon world at large, as well.

Best of the series. I hope there’s a lot more the come. I had trouble with all of the different accents on the audiobook. IRL I have spent a good amount of time with people who speak English with heavy French accents so I’m not sure why Matthieu was particularly hard for me to understand.

I'm going to be in a minority here but, I hate this book... and like it at the same time. There is a dynamic in a book that's an absolute hit for me, but it's being hinder by the menage which is the central of the plot. It doesn't help that I never warmed up to Matt either. I guess to be he's just an added on, a crowbar that's being forced into an already beautiful relationship. I get that the book is about the couple accepting the third. But it's hard to accept it when you see the honest love between the existing couple be taint by the whole "mate-biology" ordeal.

Not the mention, I just couldn't get behind the first sex scene, it's like it's only happen to the plot can progress, or rather, so the whole mated thing can happened.

Mate (Forbidden Desires #3) by Piper Scott

I first read or better say experienced Mate as an ebook. Found it to be a delightful, sensual , spellbinding , humorous , quirky and hot AF story.

With his spectacular narration Michael Ferraiuolo brings that experience to new highs. He gave main and secondary characters a distinctive and recognizable voice . Matching the character traits , personality and accent perfectly. It was a joy listening to his performance.

Piper Scott, Virginia Kelly and Michael Ferraiuolo together make formidable trio. Looking forward to future collaborations.

Mate (Forbidden Desires #3) by Piper Scott

It is settled, I am packing my suitcases and I am moving to the Dragon's World built by Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly for their hilarious, saucy , creative , engaging and sexy Forbidden Desires Book Series.

Mate is the third book in their interconnected series and it's thus far the most layered, insightful, provoking and dizzying of them all. And did I mention it's also smoking HOT.

So, if you're ready for some MMM fun and entertaining reading , read MATE . You'll get lots of Magic, Jewel color Dragons, Alphas, Omegas, Beta-Omegas scientists, whelps , Dragon's hoards, Peacocks and Steve the Iguana, love, romance and laughs galore.

Ok yes, I loved this one. Geoffrey and Ian were already so well suited to each other, but Matthieu added such a wonderful other color to their relationship. I enjoyed how much of a feisty little French spitfire he was. All three men share a similar interest in law and justice and it just bound them closer together. Of course hormones also played a huge part in that one.

I just loved how all the information about mate bonds and alpha/alpha matings unspooled in this story. We get more of the details of the secrets of the dragon world that even other dragons don't know because the rules have held them all stilted for so many years. They've all lived in fear of things being discovered that were deemed unnatural by the ruling council. Yet, Geoffrey and Ian aren't the only ones secretly breaking the rules.

This was a fun romp with great chemistry and strength with our main thruple. I liked how the balance of power worked between all three of them. It took a little while for them find their balance and accept that the mate bond really was there between all three of them. Of course all of the secondary characters in this one were a riot as we get to see all our old friends again charging in to save the day.

This was thoroughly enjoyable and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

4.75- that chapter with Snorre threw me off a little bit, but other than that - amazing.

This book was absolutely phenomenal. Best in the series, no doubt about it.

Geoffrey here really, really surprised me. He went from being an unlikeable, stiff, annoying man to basically the best main character in the series. I absolutely loved Geoffrey and you will too.

😈 Monsterlovers, here are our dragons
🔵 MMM
🟢 Alpha/Alpha/Omega; top, vers, vers
🌶️ Amazing sex, gaaah
🟣 Drastic changes in draconian dragon laws
❗ Alpha MMCs equal to a gay couple - some homophobia

I'm just giving you a taste of the italian cover here - italian covers for this series are something else, I'll tell you that. This is Geoffrey, right there.

In this story we're dealing with the equivalent of a male gay relationship in the dragon world - and yes, it's unprecedented again, frowned upon, even. You see, Geoffrey, the legal representative of the Amethyst clan, always the loner, held back and prickly, has had a lover from the enemy Topaz clan for the past 100 years, and that lover is an Alpha.

Ian, the Alpha in question, gets selected for the pairing experiment Harry is conducting, and he can't do anything about it. He has to breed the Omega chosen for him and produce a clutch. Ian doesn't want to do it, he wants to run away, because even if he's a somewhat young dragon of 150 years, he knows he loves Geoffrey and wants to be with him forever.

Matthieu is a feisty french Omega from the Ruby clan, who is chosen for the experiment, just as he was about to age out of their Omega program. He's 25 years old, has a sharp mind, is a ginger and wants nothing more than be free of the ancient draconian rules that have been keeping him imprisoned and dumbed down his whole life.

Everytime I thought about Matthieu, this photo came to mind.

Matthieu suggests, upon meeting Geoffrey and later Ian and realizing they're actually lovers, that they all three make a go at being together and in a year's time try to get out of this arrangement . What Matthieu absolutely doesn't anticipate is him getting mated to the wrong Alpha and later on - all three of them becoming mates.

Ian, Geoffrey and Matthieu couldn't be more suited for each other. There's an interesting twist in their sex life. Usually Omega is bred and the Alpha is the dominant one, but not in this case. Ian is an exclusive, very dominant top, but Geoffrey is, by heart, a totally submissive bottom, although he's also vers in this throuple.

Things get interesting with Matthieu, who's also vers - with Geoffrey. The amazing thing is that Matthieu gets to penetrate Geoffrey while it's not really something that is done, so I was really glad to read about that. They had amazing sex and I couldn't imagine just two of them together, not at all, they complemented each other wonderfully.

"Also, frankly, I'm surprised about the Omega. Geoffrey just screams bottom and-"

Alistair chocked. "He does what?"

"Bottom," Nate repeated. "Your brother is a repressed-as-fuck bottom who's just begging for a good dicking, so I suppose the bronze asshole dragon makes sense."

After that first experimental, explosive sex together, Geoffrey, Ian and Matthieu connect on another level and not only become real, recognizable mates, but the tide turns - they want to stay together and fight for having a rightful place in the dragon society. They're all emotionally very connected, even having some sort of psychic bond, and when Matthieu falls pregnant, they are faced with the possibility of getting themselves and their eggs killed off for breaking the law .

The story was absolutely well written, I mean, the whole series is written in BE - and it's fantastic, it's interwoven with humour, interesting, unpredictable adventures and the main couples are really well paired. It's a very thoughout story, the plot is good and a lot of it was resolved here in this book, but most of all these guys took me on such a wondeful emotional journey, that I honestly believe this book deserves all the stars it can get.

Geoffrey was such an amazing character. He went from always being alone - and expecting to end up that way at his 900 years of life already - to having not one, but two mates, a magical connection, a true bond and ... a family. I was so glad to see him finally happy and content, but mostly - loved.

These guys have a very special place in my heart. I love them all.

I'm glad we're staying in this world, we're not done yet and I can't wait to see what the authors have planned for Grimmie.

Gutrenching love story between two alpha dragons and their omega. It's a poly whatever relationship, or a menage for us old school folks. Well put together and seriously hot. Smokin hot actually.

We also have baby dragons galore, peacocks, a pig and Steve, the iguana. LOL moments, suspense and edge of your seat drama. I have never enjoyed reading a shifter series more and that says alot.

The dragons, omegas, whelps and pets are each succinct and richly drawn characters. If nothing else, interesting as hell in this draconian world. How can it not? I'll say it again. Dragons are just. So. Cool. Smokin. 🐉🔥

The authors hit a home run with this installment.

My only complaint? Name overload. So many baby dragons. I can't keep the whelps straight. A minor irritation.

Geoff: “Ian is my world.”
Matthieu: “And now I am your universe.”

The first and second time I read this installment, it was my least favorite book. Largely because for a poly, Ian who's the dominant in bed felt like a supporting character outside of it. There's a lot more character development for Matthieu and Geoffrey and though Ian eventually became a Drake, as all of the MCs were Drakes, he still felt like an observer.

However, I had a whole new appreciation for Matthieu this time. Fierce, feisty, and a take-charge omega who kept their family together. Honestly, outside of bed, safe to say Matthieu was the dominant among three. This also reminded me why I loved this series the first time. It's because for all the Drakes being the dragon alphas as MCs, it's the omegas, or Disgraces in particular, that were actually portrayed as heroes here. Their the gamechanger for the antiquated reign of the dragons and they all have the amazing smarts. ❤️

Also, now that I know what happened to the spin-off series, I appreciated how the underlying plot for the entire series progressed in this installment. It gave a good foundation to the spin-off series while making headway for the changes happening to the cloister and dragon laws, where soon, the past and present will coincide (i.e., spin-off series).

Still on the lower ranks of all the Forbidden Desires book but I liked it better this time around. 😊

Completely ridiculous! Can’t wait for the next one!

Okay, so here is the issue I have with this book...

In real life, peacocks are utterly disgusting filthy birds. My mother has them, wandering around her gardens and outside the house. They poo constantly. Everywhere. And their shits are ENORMOUS. They also stink up the place something wicked.

Peacocks are also quite large birds, and with their tails, they take up a lot of room. Their tails are often up to 4 feet long. So I had trouble visualising what was going on in the book.

I just had to accept that in this alternate universe, where men lay eggs, peacocks were less filthy and disgusting (maybe no digestive tracts?) and had littler tails. But boy did it interfere with my willing suspension of disbelief.

I mean really filthy. You wouldn’t let little kids roll around on the ground where peacocks are. Think atomic chook poo. Everywhere.

Yes, they are social and inquisitive. This means they come up to you, stand there. Look at you, poo a lot, take a few steps, keep looking at you, and poo again. They will stand at your windows, looking inside, .... pooing. Leaving poo piles. And smell.

You know, thinking about this, I note that no mention has been made in this book of dragons digestive processes. Hmmm.

Too many words about beings and things that should be in the background. Unnecessary details like constant positioning and repositioning of peacocks. The ménage and true love on the second cock insertion highjacked another good chunk of the book. Got really boring really fast.
