An interesting book which exams how the Pennsylvania Constitution of 1776 was imposed on a public which was very split over the prospect of independence from the British Empire. Pennsylvania is the one colony where the future diversity of the United States can first be seen. Historians have given more attention to Pennsylvania in recent years for this very reason. A good book to start in any study of this period in Pennsylvania's history.
