Generations of the Alderville family have controlled these grounds. They pursue in packs, choosing their prey carefully, just like their forefathers did. Three mouth-watering, gorgeous alpha males rule these school halls. There is no question. They're cruel, they're powerful, but most of all, they are irresistible. They have power and they know how to use it. They're well practiced, and I'm their next target. I don't belong here. I'm nothing to them. I won't stand for it, they don't know who I am or where I've come from. My pride is at stake, this opportunity is all I've ever dreamed of. I won't give in. I'll find their secrets. I have to do what I have to do, even if it means risking it all.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: St Alderville: United is a Bully Romance, High School Reverse Harem book. This is the first book in the trilogy. This book contains sexual scenes, triggers and very bad-boy language.
DNF @ 51% ~ lack of editing, obvious typo’s, repetition, stilted storyline and characters and a writing style that felt immature meant that I just could not carry on with this one. Shame because it had potential.
Following the bullymance trope, I bring to you St. Alderville- United which again was one of the better Bullymances I have read. This book though has the set-up to be a reverse harem, it isn't as such. It does, however, have moments that could be considered as an RH. Our main female character Aria has been picked up on a possession charge as her mother went AWOL and in order to survive, she decided to sell off her mother's stash of cocaine. However, one went bad and she ended up being arrested. At the station, she met an officer and he gave her a choice - go to jail or enroll in their state to schools program and become a student at the elite high school - St. Aldervilles. When Aria arrives, she is instantly thrown into the world of wealth and the wolves where she meets a fellow student on the same program as her Sierra. Sierra warned Aria of the Heirs - Jed, Blaze and Thorn. These are the kings of the school and get away with blue murder and they have decided that Aria will be their next target and they set out to break her via sexual harassment etc. The thing is unlike their students before that they have harassed, Aria is not going to back down and let them win. She will play them at their own game and when she learns a dark secret about the Aldervilles, she will hold it close to her chest as who knows when she might have to let that secret slip in order to survive and stay at St. Aldervilles as despite the bullying being here is a better solution than prison for Aria. I have to admit it was nice reading a book where the only bullies were the main three guys rather than the vindictive and jealous chick which gets a bit annoying after a while. This is one bully series, I will be continuing with and seeing how it ends for Aria.
Lately, I have been going on a rant about RH and bully love stories. They have all been so repetitive, until now. This book blew me the freak away. It was sexy; it was daring, and it kept your attention. I love all the characters in the book, but as always in RHs, I have a favorite.
Aria is a strong female lead. She has endured a lot in her life, and all she wants is an opportunity to better herself. She gets accepted into a program by the state to attend a prestigious high school with great connections. It would mean college, a good job, better yet a future for Aria. There she befriends another student, Sierra, who is in a similar predicament such as herself. Sierra is more shy and timid, where Aria is not. That is where the boys come in.
Blaze, Jed, and Thor. The kings, the heirs, and the owners of the entire town. The richest of the rich, the powerful-est of the powerful, and the most arrogant. The torment and abuse the girls from the state program. They make sure you know that you don’t belong. Aria is the only one who has ever stood up to them. She fights back with the same ammo they try to use on her, and the sexual tension is at an all-time high. Her goal is to steal their hearts and split the trio apart. Her plan almost worked, but she got too greedy, and she made a mistake.
I am so ready for book two. The energy from this book is what was missing in the other books. No heir is returning home; there is no damsel in distress, or falling for her tormentors. Well, she does kind of fall for them, but she keeps her head in the game long enough to pull through and not fall completely for their bull crap. I have never been so excited for a sequel as I am for this one.
If you can get past the poor editing, then you will love this book.
I’m actually a huge fan of the RH bully genre. This books is basically about really horrible boys that go around sexually assaulting girls. It’s beyond bullies. It’s disgusting. Meanwhile the main character allows it and even drugs one of the boys. All the characters are just horrible. I can’t imagine 2 more books. I won’t be reading them.
There were so many typo errors in this it wasn’t even funny! Aria was NOT the badass they portrayed her to be in the beginning, which was too bad because it had potential to be a great read! Way to much of her thinking page to page without actual conversations so that got old real fast, therefore, I couldn’t continue unfortunately
Aria is just trying to survive since her mom left her, when she gets arrested. She meets Jed, Blaze and Thorn at the St. Alderville school she's being sent to. I like the card she gets. That's nice of them. I think Sierra is a good friend. Those boys need to be knocked down a notch. I love the bombshell that's dropped. The ending has me wanting more. This was okay.

Talk about a very frustrating book. I got so frustrated with Aria that I was yelling at the book even in the middle of the night and early mornings, let’s just say that my family is threatening to take my tablet from me lol.. Anyway this is a great book and I am so excited and so looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.. 😘
Loved it just loved it, it was an interesting read good story line, but I think book 2 will be much more interesting as the way it ended, I honestly thought it would be like all the other books where the boys fall in love with her but hell the way it ended with that insane cliffhanger I have no idea how the story is gonna go now and what the boys gonna do because I think they hate her because of what she just did to them, anyway definitely recommend it guys read it.
I grabbed a copy of this book after seeing some mixed reviews on here about it. The blurb had me interested so I decided to give it a chance. And I was hooked instantly! This book was real, it didn't feel forced and Aria was perfect in her role as the main character. She proved herself to be strong, and unlike other romances in this trope, she didn't just lay down and take it. The boys weren't fake either, they were believable and mischievous in their ways. Loved it and loved the second one too. Bring on the third book.
There's quite a few of these high school, bully romance sort of things showing up lately and I thought maybe there might be something good in this one. It sounded like it might amount to something but then I started reading and it was pretty obvious the story was going downhill fast. I don't even recall reading enough to rate this but I did so I'll just say that it was poor enough to be not in the least memorable.
I was frequently reminded of Saturday cartoons while reading this. The narrative was similar to Thomas the train with the frequent neck ground noise of someone explaining the simple emotion of a situation instead of letting the reader feel it. The storyline could have been great but the constant explanation ruined it for me.
First book to be read by the author M.J. McKinlay. Not sure about my feelings on this one. Like it started out interesting, entertaining, but then it started to go down. I honestly believe its because of how the herione was written. I don't want to give too much away ,but I will say give it a read.
Kind of calm so far compared to most dark reads. It these guys are the typical, rich hot, jerks. Funny how she stands up to them. Hoping for a little more drama next time .
This book was one of the best RH Bully Romance's I've read. It's different!!! Argh, finally it's not just some silly girl falling for every move the guys make. Aria fights backs, she gives it her all. I have read the second in the series and love it too, can't wait for the final book! Hurry up!!!
So many plot holes. Repetitive. Boring. Clearly needs a content editor. I try not to leave negative reviews, but this book was terrible. A waste of my time.
Was definitely interesting. However the whole set up was some what disappointing, still a enjoyable read. Hopefully the next book will hold more foundation.
