This series keeps getting better and better. We may have had to wait a little longer for this installment in the Dragon Assassin series, but it has proved more than worth it. This is a book that is being released serially. There is a new chapter coming out about every month or so. I have been a fan of Slade’s work for many years, and this series is pure classic fantasy. It reminds me of the fantasy I first fell in love with late in grade school and in high school. It is the type of book that helped me fall in love with reading. And it is a series I am now sharing with my son. Being episodic, is both a good thing and a bad thing. It is good because we get new parts of the story much more frequently. And bad in that we are often left hanging. But that was not the case this time. It was a less suspenseful ending but the suspense in this installment more than makes up for that. In many ways reading this is like being a kid again in the 70’s or 80’s and waiting for the next episode of a show each week. Except the wait now is a month or two. But up until now the waits have been more than worth it. And this latest installment is one of the best, but I seem to be saying that with each new one. I was not even sure Slade could top some of the pieces of the story already released. As soon as one of these stories release, I drop whatever I am reading, and this immediately jumps to the book being read. And this one keep up the tradition of excellence.

This installment was very different than the others to date. It is an excellent piece of writing. We continue with the homage to Merlin from the precious volume. Carmen is helping both Brax and his brother. Brax’s father is in a battle to the death. And soon there are more. There are several twists in the story this time. And a surprise reunion towards the end.

To find out more you will need to read this book and the five that go before it. I have said before that Arthur Slade has a masterful pen. He often writes with wit and humour unlike any other. In this new series he is writing in a classic fantasy style I grew up reading. And not only does he craft stories in a classic style, he does so with great skill and mastery.

For many years now Slade has ended up on my favorite authors list. He will again this year for any of the volumes in this series. And some of the other stories published. If you love a great fantasy story, in an epic style you must give this book and this series a try!

A really good book to bring an end to the story of the dragon Royal Family. Carmen's relationship with Brax is growing ever stronger and they find that their bond may just be the thing that could either end them or help them to survive. There are plenty of battles, magical beings, and some great messengers! The snarky comments and banter are a great sideline to this superb story. As the power struggles grow, elsewhere the emperor has his own ideas, and is hungry for revenge.

I'm taking a break from this series at this point for a seasonal read, and the way that this ends seems possible to do so. I will pick up where I left off afterwards, as I want to see just what is in store for them all next.

This and the previous 2 books in the series should have been a single book. I understand trying to make some money but this is going a little to far. I really liked the ending and look forward to the next books/chapters in the series.

This sixth instalment in the Dragon Assassin series continues on from where the fifth left off, and we see what happens in the challenge ring. Will all the characters survive? It's a great read, and I'm really looking forward to seeing where the author takes the series next!
NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

Dragon Assassin 6: Royal Blood by Arthur Slade continues the exciting story of Carmen the Assassin and Brax the literary dragon of royal descent. Published serially, this great adventure follows Carmen and Brax who may well reunite humans and dragons as they were in early history, though they a mortal enemies at present.

I was given an ARC of this book by the author and am voluntarily posting and honest review.

I couldn't wait to get this chaper of the series read. Learned how Carman & Brax survived the dragon realm. Unbelievable what all they went through. I am not disappointed in how things unfolded. Now how are they going to defeat the evil thing that is causing so much trouble? Can't wait for the next book in this series!!! I just love these books. I received an ARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.

I, for some odd reason, thought that this was the final installment of the series. I am glad to say it doesn't seem to be - story is set up for the next installment. I thoroughly enjoyed the 6th "book" in this serial. Carmen's abilities are becoming very interesting and the villain was unexpected. Don't want to give away anything, but the dragons are at least not as bad as they were looking to be. Really am looking forward to the next part of the series.

It seems after saving the crown for his brother, Brax and Carmen's path now lies with her two assassin friends and their search for a man with no name, who has the ability to raise the dead. All in the name of bringing Brax's sister back to life. Let the new adventure begin. Happy reading. Annemarie

Carmen is up to her eyebrows in dragons !!
The development of her relationship with
Brax, her meeting with Thord and the result
of that meeting, combined with the other
happenings involved, lead her a merry dance
in all truth.
Enjoy !!
