I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.

I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.

After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.

Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.

Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.

One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.

I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!

This was a good RH series.

It wasn't great, but I enjoyed that this series was different. Instead of fighting a war that she didn't want on a planet that she wasn't raised on, Khloe made the choice to leave and take with her all the people who wanted to go with her. It was refreshing to read about the relationship with Khloe and her sister, there was no jealousy or hate between them.

A nice read.

This is the third and final book in the Heart of the Nebula series and it is my favorite! That feels so weird to say, the last book in a series is the favorite but it is. I don't know if it was just the emotion, action, intensity that was in this final book that hooked me so hard or if I was just really looking forward to it and loved it. Whatever the reason, this book was way above my expectations and I loved it.

Khloe has made it to Charbodey. The queen has arrived. While some are thrilled to have the long lost queen back on the throne, others are not. Khloe knew there would be difficulties. She knew better than to think she would just show up and things would fall into place. I'm not sure she knew just how difficult it would be. Not only was it difficult to maneuver her way through the politics, the who's and how's of what to do, but adjusting to Charbodey itself was a task. The food is different, the people are different. She is learning more every day and she's not happy about it all.

Because this book has such an epic ending that is such a twist from what we all expected, I don't want to give too many details. I will say that I did not see all of that coming and yet, it is exactly what needed to happen. I love how Khloe knew exactly what she wanted out of life and she adjusted to make it work for everyone. I love how the guys had her back every step of the way. From the lies, the deception, the attacks and assassination attempts, this group takes what is thrown at them and rallies together to become a stronger unit that before.

These two authors have done a great job with this series but they blew it out of the water with this final book. Be prepared because once you pick up this book, you will not be able to put it down.

How can I convey the conclusion to this series, The Heart of the Nebula Trilogy, when it felt SO epic? Khloe with a K has arrived on Charbodey, after about a two-year journey thru space with Briggs, Goran, Reese and Dalton – her protectors, her husbands, her everything.

Probably the best thing I can say is that Khloe turns royal protocol on its ear, makes good and sound decisions that affects her people, and has a different perspective that throws Charbodey into a tizzy. But that’s okay – she does an amazing job. I feel like that’s about all I can say, without spoilers, but I could not put this down once I started. Loved it, LOVED the ending, loved “the boys”, as well as Khloe with a K! Definitely not a standalone but a great ending to the series.

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Khloe finally arrived at Charbodey.
The long lost queen has arrived.
Now what ?
Khloe knew that it would not be a bed of roses, but who cares,
With her guys by her side, she can conquer anything.
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!

I kind of expected more, It got momentum from the last book of only travelling but then it seemed like the authors just hit a roadblock wondering how would they fix the conflict in the book - aka her and her guys kept getting assassinated, so they decided to just finish with this damn series and picked something unexpected but rushed through it - it took them 2 days to implement a plan that involved millions of people.
The relationship could have gone a bit deeper than her tantrums and a few easy on the eyes sex scenes.

Throne Taker (Heart of the Nebula Book 3) Kindle Edition
by Heather Long (Author), Rebecca Royce (Author)

Thanks to the authors for the complimentary review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review

A galaxy spanning sexy, funny and delightful Reverse Harem space opera comes to an exciting and happy ending.

This is a reverse harem space opera is Catherine Asaro or Andre Norton wrote RHSO! Filled with space ships, queens and dastardly warmongering villains who will be thwarted by all the queen's men. And even more wonderfully, the greatest space opera of all time pops it's Lucasfilm head up in dialogue, which filled me with an appropriate amount of sci-fi nerd glee.

The world building was splendid and the underlying political message added to the depth. The image of the poorer portions of the city being in the literal dark, forced to return to lighting their homes with “torches” - flashlights, it is explained, but the image still remains of a space faring empire that can't provide even the basic lighting for its poor in heart-wrenching.

The characters, at least our 4 main men and our brilliant heroine don't see a tremendous growth arc, just a few issues from the earlier books finally get worked out. I I love that the strong, powerful queen – Khloe with a K - is wise enough to let her men – her advisors – tell her what needs to be done in an unfamiliar situation and doesn't fight it for the sake of fighting. Her solution to the growing tension on her planet and the possibility of a coup was brilliant and encompassed the whole “Home is not a place but a feeling” theme.

The writing is beautiful, filled with gorgeous, intricate imagery of both space and people's souls. That alone is worth the read.

All in all, an impressive, delicious end to a potent, fantastic Space Opera Reverse Harem

Go for the gold

Khloe with a K is sick of the idiots fighting. Everywhere. In the palace. In the towns. In the ships. This was supposed to be a new start. Not just for her, but for her people. The only people not fighting is her newly discovered slave class. This was supposed to be such a perfect world. Technology, abilities, no more 6 day weeks waiting tables for pennies and missing out on life. Instead, she's now a queen and fully half her population lives in slums. And those idiotic nobles that want to fight plan on using them for cannon fodder. Oh. Hell. No. This cycle is going to get broken, quick, fast and in a hurry. She lost her best friend, she's not losing her sister and husbands. And she's definitely not raising her kid in a war zone. Wait, what? Pregnant?

Spoilers ahead.
This, for all it being a quick read, had been a very enjoyable series. I would wish for less time losses, a little more viewed family bonding moments (both her and her sister, her and the Metha {however you spell the spider people's species} and her and the guys), but still a wonderful wrap up. It would be great if there was a way to go back for more of them. And to know how the Metha (whosits) got along on their new planet. I'm trying to rapture on without huge spoilers here, so bear with me lol. My biggest questions are, I guess:
*Due to her actions, what does that mean for talents now?
*What happens to Cherb (awhosy), the planet, now? It welcomed her and fueled her. Part of that ending seems rather sad for it.

Ack. I also really want to come back and visit this series. Maybe a glimpse through Kristiana's eyes? I want to know more about the new discoveries, the building (growing buildings??) and see how the new government works. Hopefully a lot better without 28 councils and all their Machiavellian families. But, still, a sweet wrap up for this delightful trilogy. Thanks, ladies.

Taker

I'm a freshman to Reverse Harem. I don't know if I will graduate to sophomore. There are some things that I love about Reverse Harem, and somethings I don't. I digress; Heart of the Nebula was a different Reverse Harem than most I have read; it wasn't as intense. It was sweet, gentle, and at times I thought it was kind of corny. Oh, let me go back and explain that this review is for all 3 books in the series.

Queenmaker started out good, and then it kind of lagged, and then it picked back up. I love Khloe and the guys. My only complaint was I thought the authors were a bit over the top with the pet names the guys had for Khloe. My rating for it is a 4.

For some odd reason I wasn't that invested in Deal Breaker. Yes, there was some interesting surprises in it, and you got to see Khloe and the guys bond strength, but those pet names drove me crazy. Sometimes I thought the authors used sex as a filler. My rating for it is a 3

Throne Taker was about the same as Queenmaker. I liked seeing Khloe grow in her role as queen. It was exciting to read about all the espionage, and learn things about her home planet. I wish the authors would have spent more time on world building. There was more I wanted to learn about the guys and their past, and how they survived on the planet without Khloe. I had questions that never got answered; therefore my rating is a 4.

I wish the authors would have taken the time to extend the series. I felt there was more that needed to be said and more I wanted to learn about these characters. Also, the way the series ended left room for them to possibly expand on this series.

Khloe is the Queen and she is home. However, home isn't what she expected. She's a stranger. It's all unfamiliar, the people, the customs, the politics, the food. It's beautiful but the people, her people are not happy. The aristocracy lives by exploiting the poor. The poor work and sleep. They have no lives. There's political intrigue; those determined to have her throne. However, they don't know Khloe with a K. She's not going to play their game. She doesn't know their rules and wouldn't follow them anyway. She's going to show them a bit of humanity and her four husbands are going to make sure she's safe along the way.

This final book was my favorite in the series. I love that Khloe remained true to herself after a little blip. She showed tremendous strength to not follow along with how things had always been. She showed intelligence by learning her family history, by applying her life lessons from earth, by trusting her husbands' areas of expertise, and by following her own instincts when she felt it was the right course. I enjoyed the time spent with her sister and with the other political players. And I loved her husbands' dedication and devotion to her. Her men with their jeweled-colored eyes were true gems in every way. She was always the center of their universe no matter where they were or what was happening. The story took an unexpected direction (for me) and I loved it. I'm always thrilled when I am surprised by a book's events, even more so since the outcome surpassed my desires. Well done, ladies.

My heart is equal parts elated and sad to see the conclusion of this Heart of the Nebula series. Throne Taker brings the series to a close with heart-stopping action and political intrigue, all while highlighting the immeasurable strength and power of love. Khloe and her husbands/protectors have been through more together than most relationships see in a lifetime, and it’s only made them stronger. The love they have for each other (both the romantic love between Khloe and her husbands, and the platonic—but no less deep—love the men have for each other) transcends any hardships they may have to endure… and lord knows they have some hardships come their way. In a way, this ending surprised me but at the same time, made perfect sense. I will genuinely miss these characters and this story. The best books completely immerse you in the reality of the characters, making you feel as if you’re living it right along with them. This book—and indeed, this entire series—most definitely accomplished that. I will greatly miss visiting this world. One of the things Rebecca Royce does so well is ensuring that no matter what action-packed and exciting events may transpire in the story, that the relationships among the characters always take center stage. That has never been more true than in this series, where love and loyalty are always at the heart of the story… and what a story it was.

*I was given an ARC of this book by the authors and voluntarily chose to review. All opinions are my own.

Khloe's life had taken an extraordinary twist (or four) when she ran into a food truck and nothing has been the same since. She finds she is from another planet, is in fact, the queen. She has little choice but to make her way there, as the enemy has found her.

Her four husbands Briggs, Goran, Reese, and Dalton (yes this is a reverse harem storyline) have done their best in tutoring her into the life of her people. She has to deal with a lot of things, including the way her people live. As one who had worked all her life, this doesn't seem right for the rich to get richer and the poor have no life. Khloe tries to feed a bit of earth humanity into these people. Luckily she has her husbands to protect her because there are always those who aren't happy with change.

There are a number of twists and turns as Khloe manages to surprise us all with her intelligence and tenacity. It was also nice to see the sister, who wasn't one of my favorite people at first, get her HEA.

Great finale to a really good read, that I think surprised everyone with where authors Rebecca Royce and Heather Long took our queen and her husbands.

.....and just like that they made her incompetent. DNF 53%. How is a woman who grew up on Earth, and was in a three year, live-in relationship prior, surprised that sex without contraception =children? It was an insult to my intelligence. All five of them seemed COMPLETELY surprised that her having unprotected sex with four men frequently could end in her getting pregnant at the absolute worst time. The five of them haven't even figured out THEIR relationship yet and a child is being added to the mix. She hasn't secured her crown and still has so much to learn and a child is being added. People are trying to assassinate her and her husbands and yet..........you guessed it, a child is being added to the mix. Seems very incompetent on their end to not have seen this coming. I noticed that the authors hadn't mentioned any contraception in the first two books but I didn't think they'd cheapen their story with a "surprise" pregnancy. Clearly I was wrong. Will not finish, very uninterested in this pregnancy overtaking the story and informing every decision the MC's make.

Nothing like thwarting everything other people plan for you. Khloe is Queen and she's not going to be bossed around. One of the first places she want's to see is the waterfall. First though she has to meet a couple of people she missed the day before.

Having been up all night listening to her family history, she knows a lot more about these folks than they think she does. After the initial pleasantries she invites them to join her on her excursion to the falls.

As she absorbs not only the beauty but also the sad history, someone approaches Dalton thinks she should hear. This results in another excursion, this one to the part of the city called 'The Below'. What they find there appalls her.

The first encounter with the Zylots is enough to start Khloe thinking of another path for her reign.

Many decisions, a lofty goal, friends and enemies, and romance that doesn't quit. I really hated to see this book end, I'd really love more of these characters.

Khloe's life is all kinds of complicated. She's lost her friend Grace, found out she's an alien, bagged herself 4 boyfriends, who are now her husbands and is currently hurtling across the universe to her planet of origin!

Add in she's taking over Queenly duties from her sister Kristianna and more revelations about the light show her body keeps producing and Khloe really should be near collapse. But she is bursting with energy. It seems the universe if not yet finished with the surprises in her life!

Gret conclusion to the trilogy. I loved that Kristianna got her double HEA too! She was a hard duck to like at first but she grew on me. There is a great extended epilogue too which also cleared up all the POV for the characters. I'm going to miss Briggs, Goran, Reese, and Dalton. Hopefully we'll see them again in some form or other.

Both authors have outdone themselves and has given us an amazing ending on the series.

Khloe and her men are dealing with politics and being Queen has all but put a target on Khloe. So much is going on as they work their way to a happy ever after. Khloe wants to be a good Queen and must deal with those opposed to change. I enjoyed seeing Khloe and her men fight for what is right. The bond between them is deep and Khloe shows just how strong she truly is. Love and trust are big in this story. Emotions are strong and we get to see Khloe hold her own and show everyone why she is Queen. This is a nice conclusion to this series. It has a good mix of emotions and action that kept me involved in the story to the end.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the characters portrayed. It had somewhat of a surprising twist at the end which I didnt expect but it was a satisfying conclusion none the less. I liked the way the loose ends were tied up towards the end as well. If you enjoy out of this world storylines then I recommend you check this one out. It has a little bit of everything. Romance, suspense, interesting characters and world building as well as a storyline that keeps you guessing what will happen next. I received an ARC copy of this ebook and am leaving a voluntary review for this story. I enjoyed this story a lot and highly recommend you check it out.

WOW.

I have loved everything about this series, from the very first book. I’m usually not a rh fan, but I love the loyalty in this group of lovers, how they didn’t “add” people all the time, and didn’t diminish the bond this group shared. As for the rest of the story... WOW. I did NOT see that ending coming! The struggle Khloe and her men had in the previous stories pale in comparison (in my opinion) to the obstacles they faced and mountains they climbed in this third and final book. It was captivating and engrossing, entertaining and unique, and I loved every single second of it.

Throne Taker: Heart of the Nebula Book 3 by Rebecca Royce and Heather Long
*I received an ARC of this novella from the author in exchange for honest review*
4 Stars!
A fitting ending to a great series, and what a roller coaster ride it's been. Twists and turns in this last installment, giving this series new surprises until the very end. As we turn the last few chapter on Heart of Nebula, I must say I'll miss this odd crew of characters, mayhem, romance, mystery, traps, betrayals, irresistible men and so much more.

Overall, Throne Taker did tie together all of the loose ends. It was a very good conclusion!

I loved this conclusion to Khloe with a K and her guys story. We get to see all the stuff she goes through after finally making it to the planet she was born on. Who knew there would be so much craziness, intrigue and surprises. It definitely isn't what she'd expected. Yet in true Khloe fashion she proves exactly why SHE was the intended Queen. You'll never guess exactly where she leads her people, but it makes for a great read! Through everything her husbands continue to be her heart and soul.

I really love Khloe's character. She has grown so much. She has truly become the queen she never wanted to be. With the help of her husbands she can overcome anything! This is the perfect ending to a series. We have all the answers we need. Khloe listens to her heart instead of what others around her are saying and makes a new way for her people. She has truly found where she belongs and who she is. Such a great series. Each of her husbands has their own unique ability and they shine in this book. They will get to become more than they though they ever would.

I recommend the series to those who love reverse harems and paranormal/sci-fi stories. I am a big fan of the genre.

This third and final book in the series is a very satisfying end to the series.

I enjoyed seeing her come into her own. She is learning to be true to herself and not what others want her to be. Her men have grown into the relationships as well and have learned to stand by her side with love and support. The sexual intensity has also continued to grow.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

Now to say I was happy to get into this one is just one way to describe it. These two together are a powerful team giving us readers some real to sink our teeth into. Khloe and her boys will have us not wanting to miss a page. Overflowing with emotions and filled with more action then at times our heart might take. While it will not be something that is easy we are given something different to experience along with Khloe. As a group though they have taken us into their world giving us some experiences also of our own.

What a series ending! Be prepared to go on a ride, a thrilling ride that has twists and turns and surprises! Falling in love is never easy, neither if finding out who you truly are and that's how the series started and how it's ending. Their story isn't simple or easy but oh so worth it. I hated to reach the last page and at the same time it put a big smile on my face. If you haven't started this series you have to read it, all the books are there so why not!

Throne Taker is the third and final book in the Heart of the Nebula series, and like it’s predecessors, it doesn’t disappoint. Khloe’s arrival on her home planet brings mystery, intrigue, assassination attempts, and crazy twists as she claims her throne and grows her family. This book was excellent, and I loved seeing Khloe grab her inheritance and fall even deeper in love with her men. The end will definitely surprise you, but it is the best type of surprise and well worth the series!
