Can the Prince and Princess learn to trust each other?

Lis's secret is out, but Prince Remi can't bring himself to kill her. What's worse is the discovery that he too has magic. Despite the prophecy that insists the two must work together lest the prince destroy the empire, his distrust of her and her many secrets combined with her hesitance to love him causes him to learn from other magics in the city.

The story continues to twist and turn and weave magical wonders throughout everything. I found myself grieving for the goodness and innocence that Prince Remi was losing while hoping that somehow the princess could find a way to reach him. This second book also shows more of the violent side of magic, raising the question of whether or not it is inevitable? For Wei Song and Yang it was not, but nearly everyone felt their magic lose control at some point, whether they had willed it or not. Sides are chosen and it is surprising to see who follows who in the end. The new priestess is also a mystery, as is the oracular child. Will the prince and princess find a way to work together or will they destroy each other? This remains to be seen.

Remi, now the crown prince, was angry at Lis for hiding her true nature from him. Living in a land where magic is outlawed, she used her magic only because she felt she had to. Remi had cared for her and hadn’t guessed that she was magic. It shook him to find out that she was, and it raised trust issues for him that he wasn’t sure he could ignore.

Now Remi was visiting the prison to get information from the captive magics on what really happened to his brother Ta-Sho -- who had killed him? The magics wanted Lis dead, but how was that connected to his brother? He wasn’t aware the magics were trying to prevent a prophecy. He also wasn’t aware of how many people had been aware of the magic. If he didn’t get something soon, his father would have them all killed and they would learn nothing more.

Soon, Remi and the Hidden princess, Lis, will have to work together against the numerous enemies they hadn’t known they had. All those secrets they kept that seemed so small will now come back to hurt them, as well as the whole Empire of Rei-Een!

This was an interesting book, but I did struggle with not having read Book 1. It seems that the main theme of the book is trust and re-establishing trust once it has been shaken or compromised. Can Remi and Lis work together? Or will betrayal await them within all the secrets, lies, and promises? Grab your copy and find out where this all leads.

ONE ENTHRALLING DELIGHT!!!
Ah Snap! A spinning, swirling vortex with a multitude vexing circumstances and daunting events rocks this bad boy all the way through, catipulting your emotions exploding front and center. You are not going to believe how this installment plays out. Georgina totally nailed this bad boy 100% on point realism in this page turning delight. Thrusting along with one dramatic storyline and gripping plot that bring this bad boy together beautifully. Sparks fly as confusion, intrigue and mayhem ensues with danger and suspense glore. Struggling through all the trials and tribulations keeping pace with a slew of twists and turns along with bumps and bruises that propel this baby to life flawlessly. The characters are authentic, approachable and realistic with such depth and individuality it flows along fluidly without a glitch. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive it gives the illusion you were along for the ride. Remarkable job Georgina, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.

After her secret is revealed, the crown prince Remi is angry at her for hiding it from him. Now Remi has trust issues with Lis. After he slowly listens and learns, he learns people know more about magic and prophecies. He learns Lis is in danger and now they must team up to save their kingdom. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens next.

I am still giving this author/series a try.

I still don't care for the main characters Lis and Reme.
The plot seems to be going around in circles to kill time.
Now, if only I can finish the last book as I keep finding other more interesting reads.

Nope. I did not get a free book for review purposes so don't expect a five star review.
Even if I did, sorry I'm telling it like it is.

This may not be for me.

I was eager to devour book two, as I could bear to stay away from these characters. Yet I fear that my expectations would be crushed as I held the series in high esteem. But I have no need to fear for book two was as promising as book one. Now if only book three is already available...

Evidently, this is Book 2 of a YA series, of which Hidden Princess is Book 1 (which I urge you to read first). Life got in the way and it took me three days to read what might possibly be read in one LONG day.

Totally enjoyable as always. Such an amazing fantasy story. Once I start any of this author’s stories there is no stopping. Don’t miss out.
