"Some women want diamonds and pearls. Give me music, hot chocolate, and peace and quiet..." Since Clio Heyland turned twelve, she hated Christmas. Now a famous Golddigger, Clio can't wait for the festive season to be gone, baby. Gone. However, this year she's maid of honor at a winter wedding held at Ludlow Hall. And as if romance and holly and yo-ho-ho wasn't bad enough, she's caught the attention of brooding bachelor and business magnet, Gregorio Ancelotti. After a shaky start, their mutual attraction burns too hot, too fast.
With her heart on the line, dangerous secrets from Clio's past return to threaten her success and any chance of personal happiness... But Gregorio's a man with dark secrets of his own, and a man who is prepared to fight for the woman he loves...
CC MACKENZIE is a USA Today bestselling author of twenty-eight novels. Readers have dubbed her books, “made me laugh and made me cry” “hot” “page turners”. If you meet CC in the flesh you should call her Christine.
I gave this book a 5 star it was soooooo good. Clio and Gregorgio were such a special couple, they really touched my heart! It was so good to revisit Nico, Bronte and they kids I really love that family..... especially Sophia she's got a little place in my heart. This book was full of energy, emotions, surprised twists, heartbreak, love, lots of Italian male arrogance and just as stubborn good American woman ....in the end love conquerors all. This series is still going strong, thank you Mrs. Mackenzie as usual I can't wait for more books from you.
Gregorio's Bride by C.C.Mackenzie, Ludlow Hall Series #11. Hallelujah, she's back! After taking time off for he family, Mackenzie is back with another installment in which, Gregorio Ancelotti, Tonio's uncle and Nico's and Bronte's good friend and confirmed bachelor, has fallen hard for Clio Heyland, a Golddigger. She, also, plans, never to marry. She has no time for it. Then, she nearly runs over a man standing in the middle of the road on a dark and stormy night, runs her rented SUV into a fence post, and unloads on the poor hapless man: Gregorio. He is smitten. She is, too, for the moment. She doesn't do one-night-stands or relationships. It's a conundrum. Their chemistry is off the charts. Neither knows what to do about it. One night they come together and it is all either wants. She is gone the next morning.
There are all kinds of subplots here: Ellie and Noah's wedding, which is shy she and the Golddiggers are at Ludlow Hall and he past is catching up with her and she is afraid, not for herself, but for the people she loves, or might love. This book opened with a chapter so dark and so different from the other Mackenzie books, I wondered if I had downloaded the wrong book. Her past, and what a past it is, is the stuff of nightmares. Nico and Bronte and the kids make several appearances as does Birdie and her Golddigger crew. It is a fabulous book, true to the overall story of Ludlow Hall. There did seem to be errors, typographical and grammarical, which I don't remember in the past, but it's been a tough year. I adore this series and its offshoots. This couldn't be a better mystery, love story, family story, or soap opera. I recommend it. It stands alone but it will inspire you to read books 1-10.
This book is a wonderful blend of characters from several of CC Mackenzie’s books. It is a stand-a-lone but once you meet these characters you will truly want more. Gregorio is visiting the Ferranti’s for the holidays when he meets the beautiful Clio who is at Ludlow Hall for friend Ellis’s wedding. I love that CC’s books keep me so entertained with several storylines within the book that all come together to make one intriguing and entertaining book. A 5 star read!
I love CC Mackenzie's Ludlow books especially ’Daddy for Daisy’. However, this book has taken that spot. New favorite. Loved Gregorio’s and Clio’s journey and story. A beautifully written story about two people who didn't believe in love finding it with each other. Their own personal stories heartbreaking but their redemption, all the more satisfying. Can I give more than five stars?
Loved everything about this book. Getting to know Gregorio and Clio was so heartbreaking at times, but the heartbreak was worth it for all the wonderful highs and joy in the end. As always with CC, I cried and laughed out loud and felt like I was back with old friends again. Sophia!
I am so glad to finally get to read Gregorio's story. It was just lovely to see this deep man fall so much in love. I must admit I shed a few tears throughout the story but that's not to say I had a few chuckles too!
I don’t know how many times I can repeat the word “love”. I love the books in this series. This was extra special because all the fun characters were in it. Loved the story. Happily ever after is so much fun in these books.
Another great book in the series that I enjoy! It feels like going home to read about the Ferranti family and their friends. Clio's story broke my heart, but I was so glad to see that she was able to get a HEA.
