"There's been a stirring in the Land of Faes."The Council of Warlocks is closing in on the Emerson Stone, and if they get it, Yutara as we know it will cease to exist.
To retrieve the stone, it must be given freely to whomever desires it. Save for one person. Ace Halder, the Stone's Keeper, is the only one who can take it by force.
But it won't be easy. Gathara--the last safe place--dedicated to fighting the evils of the Council's will, has been deceived. A witch has crept into power and convinced the city's rulers Ace Halder is the enemy, and now he's locked away in the dungeon guarded by the world's most powerful soldiers.
If Ace doesn't escape--if Ace doesn't take what is rightfully his--Yutara will fall.
He will need an army to break free and retrieve the stone. But not of men. This army must be far more powerful. Capable of fighting the deepest magic Yutara has ever faced. And such an army can only be found in the Land of Faes.
The 2nd in the Emerson Chronicles series, the Land of Faes invites you to explore dangerous new worlds filled with adventure and magic at every turn. Great for fans of Tolkien and Rothfuss!
Daniel Paul Rowell has always been a storyteller at heart, having spent his younger years either lost in the pages of a good book or reenacting entire movie scenes after a single watch—much to the amusement (and occasional concern) of his family.
Nowadays, he’s taken to his trusty keyboard to craft the epic tales he imagined all along; where the impossible becomes the everyday, and every adventure starts with a leap of faith. When he’s not dreaming up new worlds or nudging his characters toward greatness, you might catch him strumming his guitar or losing at chess. Because, as the great Durwood Fincher (AKA Mr. Doubletalk) once said, “Mistakes are just stepping stones . . . to failure.”
But beneath all the fantasy and fun, D.P. Rowell writes with a purpose: to inspire readers to find their own courage, trust in a greater plan, and embrace the adventure of life—no matter where they start. So, if you’re up for a journey filled with wonder, mystery, and maybe a few laughs along the way, you’ve come to the right place. Daniel is here to guide you through the story, one gripping chapter at a time.
Wow! What a great addition to the series. I had high exceptions for this story after loving book #1 and it definitely lived up to it. I couldn’t have asked for a better sequel.
There’s so much action in this book which I just loved. There’s never a dry moment. The mystery side of things was very intriguing and I couldn’t wait for the next chapter. I absolutely love how everything fell into place. It will definitely keep you reading!
I fell in love with this series in book #1 and I just loved getting to read a new story! I have throughly enjoyed this series and I definitely recommend it!
*I received a free copy of this book in exchange of my honest review. All thoughts are my own.”
After the completion of the first book in this series, it was difficult waiting so long for the second book.
Thankfully, I got a copy of the second book from the writer who was so cool by the way.
For me, this is the best book I have read in 2019, hands down! I said this after I completed the first book, however, I was not sure about this conclusion. Being that I am yet to finish my 2019 reading challenge, I felt it would have been unfair to crown this book the best book I've read in 2019. In the end, I was not wrong at all.
More than enjoying every minute with this book, I am grateful for having the option to close my 2019 reading challenge with an amazing read. I was not at anytime disappointed.
Have you at any point been in a circumstance where you are miserly in the number of pages you read in a day from a specific material?
I found myself deliberately delaying the completion of this book basically on the grounds that I did not want to get to the end very soon. That's Childish! I know, I just couldn't' help myself.
On the off chance that you love yourself some Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, you will love this book.
Thank you, D P Rowell, for making my 2019 read a blast.
Wow wow wow. That’s all I can say about this series. After reading and loving book 1, I had high expectations going into this. Book 2 is just as amazing and doesn’t disappoint! Man, I’m so glad I found this author! What an amazing story teller. The suspense just keeps coming and it’s impossible to not get hooked on reading this. The story line is just so intriguing and I was just dying to know what was going to happen next.
This may be my new favorite series! It is seriously fantastic. I applaud the author.
After the first book ended in a cliff hanger, I couldn’t wait to get started book two. The Land of Faes picks up from where The Elyrian left of and it lived upto it’s expectations of being an absolute thriller.
“You know I’m innocent, don’t you?” The Emerson stone, is taken away, Yutara and Ace’s cousins are in danger, and the stone’s keeper, the only who can get it back and save Yutara, is locked up in a dungeon. Hmmm.
The storyline of the series revolves around the stone and subsequently, in this book, Ace’s mission/duty to get it back. The constant action and suspense that is present through out the book just hits all the right notes for me. It gives you everything a reader can expect from this genre and no unnecessary fillers. The characters and the plot came together really well. Besides this, each scene, character and their emotions were detailed and elaborate. This made it very easy to imagine and relate to the characters. I really like how Ace’s relationship with other characters are developed especially since deception and knowing who to trust is a point of focus in the series. How will Ace manage? You have to read to find out because it would be quite unfortunate if spoilers were given out. I would recommend it to anyone who likes mystery and fiction.
I just loved the first book in the Emerson Chronicles series and thankfully, since I had both of them, I started The Land of Faes as soon as I finished the pilot book.
All I wanted to find out was that does the sequel lives up to the base of the series. Well, I don't have regrets. The action in the story is still in-tact and the amazing world and plot environment which captured my mind in the first book is in place as well.
The author had it paced well this time as well and since this was a larger book too as compared to the normal books. The mystery in the book is well built and it intrigues the reader to keep continuing the book every now and then. Yutara, our story's homeland is in grave danger and our characters would have to do everything in their power to save it. Yes, the Emerson Stone is still there in the story obviously and it's going to take the plot at a whole level.
The book's blurb covers the plot well enough that I won't be releasing any of the facts to avoid ruining your reading time. If you love mystery, fantasy or just general fiction, this is the book for you.
Wow, this book was so good! This story is action packed and will have you quickly turning the pages to see what happens next. The setting was really neat and one of my favorite parts of the book. The author did an fantastic job with it! I also adored all the characters. There’s really nothing I’d change in this story! This author did a wonderful job creating an unique story that readers will fall in love with. This was an amazing sequel! This series just seemed to get better and better.
The second book in the Emerson Chronicles definitely surpassed the first one, and I loved the first one. We watch the characters mature as they encounter different challenges and emotions; captivity, betrayal, fear, love, support, and so much more. I cannot wait to see where the next book takes us.
