I liked it a lot. A sweet and funny short story about how a wolf shifter met a weasel shifter. The universe itself seems interesting and I would love to read some more stories set in it. The only thing I had an issue with is the somewhat abrupt ending - I had the feeling the story was not finished but forcibly ended.
3.5/5 An asexual wolf shifter (Hugo) and a pansexual weasel shifter (Twitch) meet in the woods and become enemies, then friends, then boyfriends. Hugo doesn't know how to be a boyfriend, he doesn't like the kissing stuff and can't get any further than that but he likes Twitch. Tagged political because Hugo is the Lord (leader of the pack) and leads the critters in a shifter rights rally. Cute scenes of saving a bear shifter in a garbage dump and saving all of the critters from a human set forest fire.
The story was a bit confusing in that it was hard to tell what form they were in, there may have been some in animal form groping. Not much sex though, just a hand (or paw) job. So These Rude Grumpy Arrogant Jerks Fall in Love and it’s Gross is still my favorite, but all of T.J. Land's enemies-to-lovers books are fun and short.
I think this was probably a pretty realistic version of what shifters would be like if they existed. In and out of both forms and just trying to get by. I wouldn’t call this a romance, though there is a slightly romantic element. It’s more of a short literary story. I’m kind of ambivalent about the story itself. It was well written; the author put it through a good proofread and edit. And even though I don’t know how to categorize the story, it was well done.
Asexual alpha wolf and a scruffy city weasel strike up a (intially reluctant) friendship and more. There's also fighting for shifter rights. This was fun and cute but didn't feel quite as complete as some other short stories from the author.
I don’t read many books with asexual MCs and I honestly need to. I loved how it deeply focused on the romance and emotional intimacy. And when the sex didn’t work, that didn’t diminish their emotions and general friendship. Absolutely loved it
i liked this book i think, i just didn’t really have enough time to get attached to the characters much. i like the writing style though. Certain scenes did feel rushed though.
This was seriously good. It felt like it covered a lot of different areas such as fighting for rights and sexuality with one of the main characters being asexual (though he was never actually called that).
