True Mates #7

Healing NeeCee

Rate this book
It should have been simple. Drive to New York, perform a wellness check on NeeCee Jones for his best bud, Chad, and return home to Refuge, NC. If Bull has more personal reasons for wanting to see the aggravating human he can’t get off his mind...? Well, that’s his business. He arrives in New York, spare key in hand, to find NeeCee’s apartment trashed, her paintings slashed, and her passed out in the bedroom.

Bull does what any logical thinking man would do. He kidnaps NeeCee and brings her back to Refuge with him. With her sister in heat, that gives him three days to convince NeeCee they belong together before Tameka and Chad come running to the rescue. But with his mate, his alpha, and even his wolf against him, Bull will have to prove this is one mating that won't be denied.

This was a pretty good book. I don’t feel like I missed anything by not reading the books before it.
Neecey is head strong and doesn’t want to let her hold go. But she loses something and she finds that hold can lighter and love could flow.
This was a little different from other shifter books I’ve read.

I learned about Zena Wynn as a customer of the now de-funked Ellora's Cave. Gosh I really missed that erotic authors website, so much better than Amazon any day. Anyway, I read Tameka's Smile back in 2009 and fell in love with her and Chad. The sex was hot, and there was tons of it with plenty of delicious descriptions of the hows and whys. I couldn't wait to read Bull and NeeCee's story as I expected much if not better of the same. (I've read all the earlier True Mates series because, damn the fucking is plentiful and the stories aren't half bad) I was super disappointed to have purchased this book. This story was a full on soap opera drama about a woman with a disability and so light on sex, there practically wasn't any. The title implies the two were true mates but throughout the book, both Bull and NeeCee repeatedly proved they were no such thing. Further, if NeeCee had been Bull's true mate, he could have turned her (into a shifter) and her disability would have been resolved. I'm taking Zena off my list of followed authors. I feel cheated as the old Zena Wynn wrote some hot fucking books, the new releases have been sorely disappointing (Compare Seduced by a Wolf -
B+ versus Possessed by the Lycan - F)

Very good read

I wasn’t sure about reading this book? However I am glad I did it is a very well put together story. I only wish they had discovered the generic connection for NeeCee to become a shapeshifter as well.

I love Bull Character

NeeCee and Bull story is hilarious. I love how Bull wasn't taking any of NeeCee crap. And when she wanted to give up on herself and just drink herself under the table. He was right there to push her through the tough times and make her stand on her own two feet.

There is one moment where I really did not like Chad and Tameka. Esp. Tameka, what she says to NeeCee is really ignorant. Even though she makes it up and does realize she's in the wrong. I love the Bull even more when he kicks the both of them out of his home. I LOVE how he doesn't care that Chad is his Best Friend, and Tameka is his best friend Wife/Mate as well as NeeCee older sister. He wasn't going to let ANYONE come into his home and disrespect his woman or hurt her. So when he kicked them both out, while holding onto his temper by a thin line, I had to give him an round of applause.

I was so proud of him because he did the right thing. And the fact that he bit his tongue when it came to Alex, and now his best friend and his wife disrespecting him had me shaking my head. This guy is way more tolerant and stronger than me.

I really enjoy reading this book, and i know others would love this book as well.

Worth the wait...

This story was so worth the wait I truly enjoyed NeeCee and Bull's story. The chemistry, the stubbornness, drama and healing all made this story so good from beginning to end. I loved Bull's determination and drive to make NeeCee not give up or give in to her diagnosis. And I loved how NeeCee fought to keep her independence and the way she stood up for Bull when thing's got out of control with Chad and Tameka made me like her even more. A very good read well written and entertaining from start to finish.

I absolutely enjoy reading this book and I intent to read the other books in this series. The characters are captivating, emotional and so adorable. This story is full of sizzling hot passion along with a amazing relationship between these two. It's everything you will enjoy reading about a shifter claiming his mate, I absolutely enjoyed every moment of this amazing story.

A Sweet Romance with lots of 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

True Mates series is a captivating shifter romance filled with passion, humour and heat. Healing NeeCee was a sweet gem that held my attention! It was so great to see glimpses of Chad & Tameka from the Tameka's Smile book. Zena Wynn has become a 1Click author for me, for her unique style of IR romances...I will be reading the entire series this summer😍

A few unanswered questions

I would have rated this book higher. I love reading this author's books. This one could have been longer to answer a few questions I had at the end of the book.

1. A more thorough explanation of why Bull's wolf did not mark NeeCee at the beginning.
2. More story when the wolf decided to make her.
3. Was the mark reciprocated? When?

It was a good story. I just found some information missing that would have made it a much better story.

Worth the wait

Bull and NeeCee's story was a long time coming; but better than I expected. Their relationship dynamic was different from everyone else; but it truly worked for them. Glad the wait is finally over. Hopefully that means that there are more "True Mate" just waiting to be written and released.

💙💙💙

NeeCee and Bull are a great couple. Despite the fact that they seem to not be able to be in the same space at the same time without bickering, they are perfect for each other. This book is especially good at showing how to focus on the ability part of a disability.

This book was everything. I love this entire series but this one is moving to ome of my top three. The way the author handled Neecee's disability and Bull's patience to guide her through it was inspiring. Another great addition to a well loved series.

Enjoyed the book

I sincerely enjoyed the book. There were times that I found NeeCee too combative but I still enjoyed the banter between she and Bull.

Who’s up next????

Excellent continuation to this series; I wonder who will be next? There are candidates from Rome’s pride or maybe a new family member from Nicolai’s family?

I have read this one several times, as I enjoyed both of these characters! They were so good together, even when they were having a disagreement! I liked how he pushed her to think outside of the box of her disability, to still be her best! He was so cocky and it was cute for story and how this story progressed! NeeCee did need him and she did fall in love! That is what made this a heartwarming and endearing romance!
