With the athletic festival, cultural festival, and a birthday coming up, new lovers Hayama-sensei and Terano-sensei have plenty of firsts to look forward to sharing! Will all these new experiences help them open their hearts and deepen their trust even more?
The series continues apace with no drama or conflict and very mild humor. Is it slice of life or mild discomfort by a thousand little cuts? It's all so gentle and cute and loving, even the R-rated erotic bits.
I see no need to continue with this series, but now that I'm halfway through it, I have no doubt I'll feel compelled by my completist streak to check out subsequent volumes if my library gets them.
It takes a faculty to raise a yuri ship. Terano and Hayama continue to deepen their bonds under the watchful eye of the teachers and students at their school. Between three legged races, birthdays, and school festivals there are plenty of opportunities for things to be both spicy and sweet for our titular teachers.
It’s very, very easy to review this by saying ‘as good as the first volume and pretty much the exact same’. And that’s not meant as a complaint - this is a frothy bit of romance between two young women learning how to approach one another while being head over heels in love.
As I said before, it’s wonderfully complete in its portrayal - these two are completely goofy for one another and that’s expressed in the shameless flirting and occasional awkward moment, but also by them being all over one another when they can get away with it.
You’ll definitely have your own opinion on whether the nudity and sex is gratuitous, but it never feels like it in this book. The author just happens to be showing all aspects of a relationship between two consenting adults. At no point do I feel like it’s shoehorned in for the hell of it - everything flows from the situation and what’s come before it.
Even when things do briefly go awkward between the two, it’s only a matter of time before somebody makes sure they get their acts together. No high drama, just endless, endless charm and cute art with some sexy bits. It’s so straightforward that it’s refreshing.
This book is a perfect little heart warmer for when you need some extra serotonin in your life. These two are just adorable and I look forward to watching them grow closer as the series goes on - much like everybody else in the story.
Very sweet and fluffy again. There's a bit more going on in school, with festivals and such, but they're also meeting up a lot outside of school.
Again, only minor drama that gets resolved pretty quickly. Although I found some of the dramas were a bit immature, but at least the side characters make sure they talk about it. Generally love how the mangaka values communication.
Ps. Didn't notice that earlier, but the chapters are called "periods" (9th to 12th period in this volume) and the bonus chapters "after school". Love it.
I really like the main characters but the side character is kind of took it down a little bit. There’s not really much going on in this they’re really just a couple dating and learning as they go in their relationship they’re a cute couple and all I know probably finish the series cause I don’t think there’s a whole Lotta volumes in it so I can see why some people would like it and I can also see why some people won’t.
Pure yuri fluff to hit that "girls being cute" niche with no need for plot. The appeal is the slow growth of the relationship between Hayama-sensei and Terano-sensei as they get closer.
A wonderful couple (WARNING, NUDITY/MATURE CONTENT)!
Hayuma and Terano are the perfect couple. They fit together so well. Everyone in the school, students AND Senseis, know they are dating. The two grow closer and closer, expressing their love for each other in words and actions. There is a very tastefully done love scene, it starts in the bath and moves to the bed. I really commend this Mangaka, for creating such a enticing and memorable love scene, without being crude, overly erotic, or straying into the depths of pornography. These two are so happy, and love each other so very much. They even spend a day checking out the school cultural festival, and participate in a 3-legged race for the sports festival. All in all, another fine addition to a very touching Yuri love story. I eagerly await the next volume.
This second volume is much like the first, but that's not a criticism of it. Instead, it sets the expectations squarely. You will continue to get the sweet love story of Terano and Hayama as they deal with even more ways to deepen their bond for each other and learn to open their hearts more fully.
No high stakes, no tension, no drama really to speak of. Everything is resolved at the end of each little chapter and the characters continue their sweet day-to-day existence. This volume continues to treat the main characters as actual, mature adults who deal with their problems communicatively and honestly. It's so refreshing not to be bogged down in constant miscommunication for the sake of drama.
This series continues to be a lovely break after reading some heavy, long historical fiction and satisfies my sweet tooth.
There's nothing abhorrently wrong with this volume, but it's becoming clear that there won't be any real substance to this series. It's literally just following these two women as they date, which is fine, but that's it. Conflicts pop up every chapter, but they're also resolved every chapter (or two, in this volume's case). Again none of this is bad, but as someone who loves series like Bloom into You and Yuri is My Job, I don't think I can continue with a series where I'm simply watching two people date.
I still think this is a cute series that others should check out, but bear in mind that the title of this series is exactly what you're getting. If you want more, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
4 stars. Saki and Asuka have their first misunderstanding as a couple. Everything was blown out of proportion but I loved that it was handled quickly because the other characters around made them get their shit together and talk to each other. Both characters are just so likable and charming and their romance is sickly sweet so I appreciated the tiny bit of drama but I also love how they’re learning to communicate better. This series is going great for me so far so I’m going on to volume three now.
I really like how this volume is sticking more towards the wholesomeness of Terano & Hayama’s relationship, while also having sexual moments. I like that there was some relationship progress, but it wasn’t as significant as the previous volume; it more so the pair developing better communication skills.
If you liked the chill vibe of the first one (I gave it 3 stars), there’s a decent chance you’ll enjoy this one even more. No major change up in tone from the first volume, but their relationship, while still new, is maturing a bit by now, and that’s reflected in the stories we get this time around.
This is such a sweet continuation of the series. Again,I so adore seeing misunderstandings talked out like adults. Too often in stories with aduls, it feels like they act like teenagers. Here we have late bloomer adults who lack experience and are still using their communication skills and supports. I love to see it.
i cannot believe that i forgot to mark this as read even though i read it like. two weeks ago. lovely as always <33 but also carrying these books around with me gives me a heart attack since i carry two volumes at once and i carried this one and the vol3 with me to a hangout and... well... the third cover is well... i needed to make sure my friends did NOT see what i was reading.
'Our Teachers Are Dating' continues to be a cute and sweet romance between two adults working to get to know each other; I really appreciate how enthusiastic all the people around them are for their new love.
I like this manga because it manages to be wholesome and cute without shying away from more mature themes. Their relationship is absolutely adorable, and even the spicy scenes are tender and loving. It's a great light-hearted, fluffy manga!
About on par with the last volume but it’s charm was wearing thin, would have rated 2.5 stars if I could though I think that’s more to my personal taste more than anything, if this sounds up your alley then you’ll probably enjoy it immensely
Ok this volume got a lot better than the first. I love how sweet they are and how nice their friends are to them and how supportive everyone is of their relationship. So stinking cute!
Our Teachers are Dating is a cute, fluffy, full of secret kisses and pining. I love how much Saki and Asuka are learning about each other. Also, this cover is so freaking cute!
