"We're like kites. We just go wherever the wind blows us, even if it's not the best place to be. XXX is like a great kite flyer. XXX understands that you need enough string to go on your adventures. XXX even encourages it and helps you soar. XXX also knows when you need to be brought back to earth. XXX grounds you in a very good way."
That Boy might not be loved by everyone because of its style, but give it a chance. It is written as JJ/Jayden’s diary with all the big moments throughout her life. I loved being in JJ’ head because she was wild and funny and her rants and thought processes were so fun to follow.
It was also clean, not a raunchy or even semi raunchy sex scene in it. I love my hot, steamy scenes and would have liked a bit of “sweaty lovin” because JJ, Phillip, and Danny were hot and gave me the tinglies, but it was still great without it. It did have strong sexual tension, lots of implied situations, and absolute incredible love.
There are so many warm touches in this book because the diary was so personal. I have to mention some of my favorite parts because they were so good!!
#1 and the BEST EVERRRR! --The marriage proposals!! Unbelievably perfect!! Incredible!! Why didn’t my husband think to do this!! You could read the book just for those parts.
Also JJ had some really meaningful sayings and quotes, from the book “The Town”, they were so true about life. Of course she had some very funny ones too:
Girls go to college to get more knowledge
Boys go to Jupiter to get stupider
Already bought the next book!
