This is a book written by a Headteacher as a class reader. The book is based around Robbie, who has recently lost his father in an accident. He moves with his mother to Unst, the most northernly island in Shetland. He not only has to come to terms with grief but needs to adapt to life in a remote corner of Scotland.

This is a book filled with hope and childhood nostalgia. The pages are filled with the author's love of nature and you are left feeling that Shetland is a magical place.

The book is well crafted and models good grammar. It deals with big issues such as bereavement, mental health, materialism and the challenges faced by people undergoing kidney dialysis. I particularly loved that the book was written in a dyslexia-friendly font and has a simplified version at the back
