"Oken Brown. He looks harmless enough but he was one of the most ruthless criminals ever to have graced God's earth." Suddenly Zane became interested. "He developed the first hand held temporal weapon, and used it in an underground fighting arena only twenty years ago." It wasn't as if Oken hadn't killed before, he was an elite member of an underground culture. He was almost like an ambassador of death. Oken was one of the best, but even he shuddered at this new weapon which threatened the very existence of everyone on the planet. Contains adult themes

"Emblem Divide" is a a great read. It's short enough to make it your travel companion on a weekend getaway, and long enough to provide substance and nuance to it's world and characters. The setting (or settings as the case may be), is an intriguing character unto itself, having overtones of the dystopian settings you'd find in a classic cyberpunk novel but without the same sense of dire foreboding that authors like Richard K. Morgan conjure leaving you feeling sour. The said, if you can't take an dark narrative with heaping helpings of misfortune (ala Game of Thrones), you may wish to stretch the read out, and things can get a bit miserable for the characters at times.

It'll leave you guessing as the narrative jumps from place to place and character to character. I'll not go into plot or character descriptions here, as at the $5 list price for Kindle, it's a steal, allowing you to discover the secrets for yourself. If you love time-travel, tragic heroes, mystery, and subtle, well-crafted sci-fi aesthetics, you can't go wrong. Also this is an updated a revised addition, giving you the most polished version of the story that's ever been available.
