Tie the knot outside the box armed with this companion volume to the wildly popular Anti-Bride Guide. Featuring sassy and savvy ideas, useful questionnaires, handy pockets, and space for notes and doodles, the Anti-Bride Wedding Planner provides creative inspiration for brides-to-be who want to kick the conventional wedding to the curb.
i'm using this because it's the wedding planner i bought in the beginning. if i were to do it over again, i would buy a different one, although most that i looked through didn't cover all the bases. this might have helped me carry around my notes and ideas if i'd hired a professional wedding planner. i am the planner, with no professional help, and i needed a much more thorough, well-made book to help me through this process. i had to tape this one up in many places that seemed SO obvious (why didn't they just close those pockets they created for us to put papers in? they fall out! duh!) i like the idea of the anti-bride (meaning non-traditional), but the sections in this book were not even laid-out in a helpful manner. many stages of the planning process seem to be missing. now, one month away from the big day, i have about 6 folders i created that i use way more than this planner. i need to create my own planner/book for the masses.
This was an enjoyable, light-hearted and off-beat approach to wedding planning. It has lots of nifty (and potentially money-saving) ideas and tips for the girl who isn't interested in putting her wedding before her relationship, which is a mindset I've not found in many wedding guides.
I would absolutely recommend this any bride-to-be -- especially those who, like me, are perennially disorganised. This guide has lots and lots of space for frantically scribbled notes-to-self. I owe the friend and future bridesmaid who gave this to me lots of hugs and thanks for the headaches this guide kept at bay.
Tons of helpful tidbits in this book but I think you have to look at it as a reference book and NOT a planner. After reading it, I was flooded with inspiration and ideas for our upcoming wedding, but if I was using this as a planner, there would be no place to put them in the meager pockets provided. Instead, I started an excel database and returned this book to the library. One of the best ideas in this book was creating a separate email just for wedding planning, which I did and am already finding infinitely helpful.
I was really into it, then not so much, now it's basically a holder of sorts for initial brainstorming, little sticky notes, and magazine clippings of flowers, dresses, cakes, etc. I don't think I'm a wedding planner-ish type of bride after all. I mean, I definitely planned my wedding, but not so sure I needed a planner to guide me, maybe just as a starting place.
Not your traditional Bride book, which is probably why I like it so much. Chalk full of checklists, ideas and some humor along the way. I recommend this to any bride who doesn't want to follow the beaten path.
Since my date is now set, I've jumped right into this book. It's so perfect for us since we are not "foo foo" fancy and want something scaled down. This ROCKS!
Yet another Big Lots steal. I thumbed through and thought it would make a cute planner. It has nice pockets and space to jot down notes/ ideas. Seems like a nice little book to keep me organized in my year long or more process.
