Trent was in love with his wife, sure, but the best part was that he'd married into money. He had money, a sexy wife, an awesome car... he had the life. But his life was about to get a lot worse. On their way to a large, posh cabin in the woods, owned by his in-laws, the two become stranded with no cell phone service in the dead of night. Eventually, Trent realizes they are being followed. And the reason why is horrifying.

Although he’s been writing stories since he first began learning to spell, William T. Adair is a relative newcomer to the published works arena. His specialty is extreme horror, although he does dabble in dark, modern fantasy and suspense. He has a deep- rooted appreciation in not only the books of the original “splatterpunk” movement, but of the current, more extreme works of his favorite authors.
William T. Adair was born on August 3rd, 1980, one minute before the witching hour. He has always thrived in the nighttime, and that is when he completes his best work.
The most important thing to William is that his works somehow touch someone by making them laugh, repulsed, scared, or even ashamed that he is a part of the human race. He loves the idea of being someone’s guilty pleasure, and aims to bring something more to the table than just gore for gore’s sake. A good story is what makes the horror the most effective. He tries to steer away from “cookie cutter” characters and scenarios, and strives to create surreal environments with believable actions and circumstances, while still delivering the imaginative and otherworldly.
Other hobbies and efforts include creating various forms of music, art (mostly pastels, acrylics and pen) and Jiu Jitsu (including competition).
William T. Adair currently has several books available on Amazon, with many more in the works. He is very active on social media, and loves to interact with like- minded people, peers, and fans of his work.
I thought long and hard about phrasing this - I don't want to be a complete asshole about it - so the best I can come up with is this: Not to my taste, sir. It felt like you were all over the place and it got absurd toward the end.
This is by far one of the bloodiest books I have ever read in my life!!! That's why I gave it 5 stars. The story is okay, too. Devil worshipers torture someone for their wrong doings. And when I say torture, I mean torture. It's brutal. I loved every minute of it. But with that being said, I think I thought too hard about the story. In one scene, they're rubbing salt in the wounds of his penis. A couple scenes later, she is sexing with that same penis. Seems like the salt would have burnt her sex, also. Maybe she likes pain because she worships Satan? I dunno. Stuff like that doesn't matter when you are reading torture this gruesome.
Trent and Lindsay are on their way up to her family’s secluded cabin in the mountains.
Married for a year now, Trent is a car salesman. Lindsay is…an heiress and a socialite.
On the winding, wet roads, some mutual road pleasure leads to distracted driving.
Trent rescues Lindsay from the ensuing car wreck.
Before long, he realizes that they are being pursued.
The plot actually had some decent potential, but none of it is realized.
As poorly-executed as the rest is, the ending is the most disappointing.
As an aside, this book is tagged “extreme horror” or “splatterpunk” approximately…nowhere. If you’re a fan of splatter and/or gratuitous torture and gore, you may dig this book. Just don’t look too hard for a plot, though.
What a story this was. I have to say this novella kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning to end. I've read a lot of horror stories both, full novels and novellas and a lot are gory, and horror for the shock factor but not this one. Yes it's ' gory and Yes it's horrific but there are reasons why. The story is solid. I'm impressed.
It started out pretty slow, but then escalated fairly quickly. I did not expect for the story to go the way it did at all. With the way it ended I wonder if there will be a second book to follow.
