I’m not looking for a mate, but then Rick walks into my life …
Work hard. Play hard. Never fall in love. I’ve never needed anything else, no matter what the other members of my pack think. But when a sweet omega brings his daughter to my self-defense studio, suddenly I’m thinking of turning over a new leaf.

Rick’s scent calls to me like nothing before and I need him in my bed. My wolf is determined to have him, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make him mine. The headstrong detective can take care of himself, but now it’s my job to keep him safe.

But Rick has been hurt before and when his doubts about my past threaten our future, I’ll need to find a way to make him see that he is more than enough for me. Can I convince my mate that we’re meant to be? Or will our new family crumble before I can claim him as my own?

I really enjoyed reading this sweet, heartwarming Mpreg romance, it is the 8th book in the series “Timberwood Cove” but it can be read as a standalone. The plot is well-written & entertaining with some intense situations & events. The unique characters are well-developed & likable with good chemistry between them. There is good support from the secondary characters.
There is: a popular alpha wolf shifter (Dean) who is not actively looking for a mate comes into contact with a human omega male detective (Rick) when Rick enrolls his daughter (Emma) into self-defense class & Dean promptly decides to pursue & claim Rick, A caring teacher (Troy), a rather devious man (Sawyer), wolf shifters, pack mates, friendship, school bullies, some twists, drama, intrigue, action, adventure, threats, danger, attacks, violence, conflict, fated mates, fantasies, complications, snarkiness, verbal banter, emotional turmoil, vulnerability, a get-together, advice, surprises, verbal conflict, misunderstandings, compromises, love, contentment, steamy scenes & a happy conclusion for this couple with a very interesting ending.

Dean is perfectly fine living his playboy lifestyle and is very about his plans on not settling down anytime soon -- little does he know he’s about to eat those words. His mate comes in the form of a single dad, Rick, who has been burned before and is unwilling to trust Dean with his heart. The two start to spend time together when Rick’s daughter starts taking karate lessons from Dean. Although, it involved lots of doubts their HEA was one I couldn’t stop rooting for.

I really liked this couple together. It was one of those times I had to remind myself to be patient and the outcome would be worth it -- and it was. This is the first book I've read in the Timberwood Cove series but it’s definitely has hooked me in and has made me want to watch out for the rest.

If you like couples who have to work towards their romances, mpreg and an adorable little girl who really makes the story this one would probably interest you.

I absolutely love reading the stories of the Timberwood Cove Shifters and now the Oceanside Shifter packs. Each character brings you into their lives and you cant help to feel for them all individually as you learn about their lives and their loves lost. As the story unfolds, you are woven into the fabric of the story and you laugh and cry with their struggles and their triumphs. You wont be disappointed with any story written by Liam Kingsley. He is a master story teller who draws you in from page one till the very end of the story, but then realise that there is more to the story and you need to read the next book. Well worth investing in the time it takes to unfold each and every tale that is told.

Dean Hardwick is the alpha of the Oceanside pack and he is a player. He meets up with Jaxon and they are talking about fated mates, Jaxon tells him that he will meet his fated mate and his life will change. Dean bets his Triumph bike that he wont meet his mate and change his ways. He meets up with some of his pack in a local bar that they frequent and is making out with a random omega and then suddenly smells his mate. He walks up to him and introduces himself to him and learns that his mate is Detective Rick Patton, a police officer from Timberwood Cove.

Rick is a single father to Emma who is eleven years old. His best friend Troy has told him that she is being bullied at school. Troy is her homeroom teacher and he is concerned about her. Rick tells him that he will take care of her training to protect herself, but when he is called to the school one day after she has been bullied and has a split lip, Rick tells her that she can take karate lessons. When he takes her to the dojo, he learns that Dean is the sensei there.

When Dean learns that Emma is being bullied, he encourages her to keep practicing at home and encourages her to take an extra class during the week. Rick and Dean take Emma to the ice-cream parlor for a treat. They start a bumpy relationship which Rick wants to take slowly. Dean is happy to do this but one night after a date, they end up making love and Rick is in heat and Dean forgets to use a condom and Rick gets pregnant, which Dean knew would happen. Rick seems to have a problem making a commitment with Dean due to him being a shifter and Rick being human. Emma's father took off when Rick was pregnant and so he thinks that Dean will do the same.

They have to deal with the bullies at Emma's school and then when Dean has to go to the school for Emma because her dad cant be contacted, Emma tells the headmaster that Dean is her dad. Emma had given the bully a blood nose and she was facing expulsion from school. Dean was not having anything to do with that and then Rick shows up and Troy also and they convince the headmaster that he needs to look up reports about Emma being bullied. A meeting is called for the parents and Mr Peters, who is the father of the main culprit threatens Dean. Rick senses that there is trouble coming and tells Dean that he needs a break from him and then turns his back on him and refuses to have anything to do with him.

A fight breaks out at the bar and the bully's father is the one who starts it by threatening Dean and his family and Rick and Emma. There is a break in at Dean's mothers place and while he is investigating that, someone breaks into Ricks house and starts taking Emma out her window. Rick fights him and pulls his gun on the intruder, it is Mr Peters. Rick ends up shooting him and Dean races to see if his family are safe.

Eventually Rick pulls his head out of his butt and listens to his mother and realises that Dean is important to him and he cant live without him and he then goes to beg Dean's forgiveness and they then go through the claiming ceremony where Rick accepts the claiming bite and Emma is also claimed as Dean's daughter. They live their lives learning to adjust and are happy living their life together and then their baby arrives. While in the hospital after their baby boy is delivered, Troy bursts into the room telling Rick that he has done a bad thing and is now pregnant to a one night stand. Sawyer, who is a friend of Dean enters the room after Troy has left and tells them that he can smell his fated mate. We now have to wait to read their story.

Dean Hardwick, alpha of the Oceanside pack, rode his Triumph to Kay’s Diner to meet Jaxon Parsons who was waiting for him. Jaxon had been deep in thought about his daughter, Lori, and said he wanted to enroll her in something where she could get used to humans before she started school and let off some energy too. Dean recommended his karate dojo. Jaxson reminded Dean that his pack needed to grow in numbers, and the best way was if he found his mate and settled down. Dean laughed – so sure that would never happen that he bet Jaxson his Triumph on it! It was Jaxson who was laughing as the two of them left the diner.

Dean went to Bishop’s Bar and Grille to play pool and drink with members of his pack. He had a bet with a young omega named Laurence, then deliberately lost the game so he could take Laurence home. But suddenly he scented someone and his wolf went crazy! His eyes landed on a plain-clothes cop at the end of the bar. Their eyes met and his whole body trembled as he cursed, “There goes my Triumph!”

Rick Patton is a detective – and an omega – who stops into Bishop’s bar with his best friend, Troy, since his mom is taking care of his 11-year-old daughter Emma. Troy is Emma’s teacher and Troy asks how she is. Rick is confused at his asking since he sees her in class, so Troy tells him she might be getting bullied at school. Then it made sense. Emma had mentioned -- actually begged him – about taking self-defense classes. He had taught her the basics himself, but didn’t think she needed to turn to violence to defend herself. Then Troy finishes his beer and goes home to grade papers.

Rick stayed for another beer and to flirt with Bishop until Bishop looked over Rick’s shoulder and hurried to the other end of the bar. He saw the hot guy from the pool game coming straight for him. He introduced himself and, when they shook hands, Dean’s eyes widened and his whole body trembled. Then he said a quick goodbye and raced out of the bar. For the rest of the night, Bishop never came near him and stopped all his previous flirting!

Dean had no desire to meet his fated mate, but Rick changes that decision. Dean can provide the karate lessons for Emma, even though he finds himself getting close to the father and daughter. But how long can Dean remain patient waiting for Rick to accept him as his mate? Rick has already been abandoned by Emma’s other dad and may not have confidence that Dean will stick around. Can Dean ease his doubts? Will they ever find their HEA?

The author’s writing is excellent, and the characters are very well developed and likable. Combine a great story line and wonderful characters with the inclusion of shifters, and I thoroughly enjoyed every word! Grab your copy and join the shifters of Timberwood Cove!

I thought I knew how the characterisations in this book would work and I was delighted to find my expectations were completely wrong in wonderful ways. I expected Dean to be the character I was going to be wanting to slap upside the head to get to accept his fated mate and settle down. He has been the total playboy - sleeping around, flirting with anyone in sight and even betting his beloved motorcycle that even if he found his mate he would walk away and keep his freedom. Then, when he finally did accept the idea of a mate I expected him to push strongly for the bond. That was so wrong. As soon as he scents Rick he is totally smitten but he approaches gently, not like a steamroller. Rick is the one I was actually annoyed with initially. He deals poorly with his daughter being bullied at school and is too sure of his own ability to protect her and do everything alone. As the story develops we begin to understand why this is and he becomes a sympathetic character as well. I really enjoyed the fact that this plot line of bullying (and some truly evil characters) is not one you encounter every day in mpreg/shifter romances. It provides the perfect opportunities to throw Dean and Rick together and to bring out all Dean's protective Alpha instincts. Emma, Rick's daughter, is a wonderful character! If you hesitate to read books where teenage girls have a large role, don't hesitate here. Emma is not the stereotypical moody teenager. She is bright and charming and her reactions to the bullying are realistic and not over the top. It is so satisfying when the baddies get their comeuppance. I have not read the previous books in this series and had no trouble following anything. It might help to be a bit familiar with mpreg/shifter/Alpha-Omega tropes but again, I don't think that is a requirement. Enough information about that is provided and the characters and the story will carry you right along.

This is the second book in the Timberwood Cove series. They do not have to be read in order, yet as there are characters that are consistent throughout both, it is recommended.

Dean is the Alpha of his small pack. Jaxson, Timberwood's alpha, has been nagging him about growing his numbers and about finding his own mate. Nope, not gonna happen. Dean is too much the playboy. Then he scents Rick. Everything changes instantly.

Rick was at the bar to hang out and avoid 'the change' talk with his daughter, Emma. (He left that to his mother.) When Dean approaches him, there interaction is all to brief when Dean races off. What?

They meet again when Rick enrolls Emma for karate at Dean's dojo. Emma has been being bullied at school, and Rick finally admitted needing help (a little). Rick tries to avoid Dean when he takes Emma at first, but eventually Emma invites him to ice cream with them. This is where Dean's wolf really starts prancing!

Emma continues karate, and Dean & Rick start dating. Rick needs a slow emotional pace, but they move quickly physically. Dean is very upfront about his past, but equally so about his intentions about Rick being his mate. That is the one issue where Rick is evasive. Regardless, things escalate to meeting parents when Dean's mom puts together a dinner before a pack run. It goes suprisingly well, and Emma remains in the dark. Actually, the night has more suprises in store. (You must read to find out.)

When Emma finds out her dad (Rick) has been hiding something from her, she runs away. Dean finds her at his house. Finally, Dean has both of them safe and happy under his roof. Now, if can he just keep them there?

The Harder they Fall
The location of the Oceanport's pack territory was the westward peninsula that was just south of the small town of Timberwood Cove. The pack Alpha was determined not to fall into the Fated Mate Trap so many of his acquaintances in the Timberwood pack had succumbed to. His fellow pack Alphas and friend's mate happiness did not tempt him. He loved playing the field & there were a lot of prospects in that large field pool of potential play things. But love has a way of turning the biggest player into the biggest love bunny for his mate.

It wasn't an easy romantic road actually it was rather rocky. I love this series of Single Dads finding their true love in the form of a shifter fated mate. The existence of shifters is still a big secret despite the rumors for many years. When you are a single dad and police detective you are extremely concerned about who you allow in your life. Your preteen daughter is the most important person in that life & your greatest concern.

How devastating when said daughter gets bullied despite her dad being a cop. How can he protect his daughter when his best friend her teacher can't do anything & the school is where the bullying is taking place? A dad had a right to be offended when a stranger (despite how handsome he is) steps in to offer his daughter karate lessons. He wants diplomacy not violence. But this persuasive stranger makes a big impression on his daughter and the detective, even if he fights it.

When relationship problems develop it affects both parties. An emotional tug-of-war of hearts. Who would you rather have protecting you a detective Omega Dad or an Alpha pack leader? Sometimes pride has to be set aside.

Wolves & cops & karate, oh my!

Another wonderful book in the Timberwood Cove Series. I have missed this world, and all it's inhabitants. Our old friends are here. New ones are made. I like the dynamic of the shifters, and the humans who know about them. This book also shows that sometimes, the humans are scarier than the wolves. I loved this book.
Dean is Alpha of the smaller Oceanside pack, and head of his own Dojo. Convinced he will never settle down he makes a bet with his best friend. Too bad he scents his fated mate right after! His human mate is a detective who knows about shifters, his partner is one. But Rick is independent, and fiercely protective of his 11 year old daughter. Too bad he doesn't want a mate. When circumstances at her school finds Rick enrolling Emma into Dean's karate class, they can no longer avoid each other. Dean must prove to Rick that he will protect Emma at all costs. When danger rears its ugly head, their love will be tested. Rick must overcome his fears, & Dean finds hidden patience. HEA is assured, never fear. You will love this book!
Trigger: this book contains incidents of bullying. It shows how some people will turn a blind eye, how easy it is to just go with the crowd, and how important it is to stand up and do what is right. I do not think anyone will be offended.
This book can stand alone, but it is best enjoyed of you have read the other books in the series. It will be time well spent.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

Dean Hardwick is the ultimate player with a reputation to uphold; and a bet to win that he made with Jaxon the Timberwood pack alpha or loose his pride and enjoy - his precious Triumph mc. After all he's the alpha of the Oceanside Shifters and now works alongside the Timbercove pack in protecting their communities from rogue shifters like the recent dragon attacks. Little does he realize his bike is about to go bye-bye. Fated mates are a mystical idea that to him just doesn't exist.

But all that changes when Det. Rick Patton of the Timberwood Pack police enrolls his daughter Emma in a karate class run by senesi Dean. Emma is a victim of bullying at school and Rick believes that karate will help deal with this situation. Emma's alpha dad abandoned these two and so Rick has
issues with trust and believes whatever relationship they join in will only lead to another alpha abandonment. Patience is a virtue and alpha Dean heavily calls on all the fortitude he can to win
Rick over.

Author Liam Kingsley weaves a story full of twists and turns about immediate attraction that makes
for a good read in this the eighth story in this series. I suggest that if this story is a first read for
anyone it would be a good idea to start at Book #1 Homerun Daddy to lay the groundwork for this
story. I surely intend to do this as this is, Book #8, my first read in this series.

Rick is a detective who knows about shifters he is also raising his almost 12 year old daughter who is moody and begin picked on at school. Dean is the Alpha of the Oceanside Pack he's a player who has no intention of settling down with one Omega and he thinks he can just ignore his fated mate even takes a bet with his Triumph Motorcycle as the prize he's about to lose so bad. Rick my daughter needs karate classes unfortunately the most arrogant man is teaching the class he doesn't know about personal space either he keeps smelling me and even when I find out he's and alpha I'm not sure he's got a reputation I have a kid and a really over critical mother. Dean he's ment to be mine I just have to convince him one thing leads to another and gets really hot now Ricks pregnant and some psycho is threatening my new family not to mention Ricks issues and insecurity but I won't give up this Alpha gets what he wants. These two have some really hot steamy chemistry like seriously smoldering. You also see how much they care for each other and how much Ricks daughter means to Dean. This book is sultry, sweet funny and slightly dangerous. This my favorite book in the series so far.

I was allowed to receive and advance copy of the book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.

Detective Daddy by author Liam Kingsley is the 8th book in the Timberwood Cove series. I started with this novel and was not lost. However, some of the side characters did not have much meaning to me, and someone who follows the series might find them more interesting.
Dean is Alpha of the Oceanside Pack. It is a tiny pack, and he should expand it. Find a mate for himself and settle down. But that is the last thing on Dean’s mind. He is more of a player, and not looking for his fated mate. He gets a long great with the Alpha of the Timberwood Pack. He is a good-natured person just a little arrogant and self-assured.
Rick is a detective with a sensitive nose for a human. He has a little girl Emma who is being bullied. He takes her to Dean’s Dojo to learn self-defense.
He is against violence, doesn’t trust easily, and is not pack. Can he accept a wolf and an Alpha wolf at that? That is the long-term question.
I really liked this story. Lots of characters to fall in love with, and want more of their stories. I would like to go back and read the books I missed too. I am sure fans of the series will love this book, I know I now have a new series to read and fall in love with.

Loving your independence, would you bet your most prized possession you'd never succumb to charms of your fated? Rick is the detective everyone trusts, dad to 11 year old Emma. Dean, Alpha of Oceanside pack, living on peninsula of Timberwood Cove and loves his independence. Jaxson tries to encourage him to find his mate to start growing his pack. Dean, enjoys his independence too much. He scents Rick in the bar and immediate recognizes his mate, and realized he just gave away his Triumph. Rick, human, just thinks Dean is hot. His shifter partner, Steve mentions that Dean might be his mate. Rick is wary because Emma's Alpha dad walked away when he fell pregnant, so Alphas hold a special place in his heart. Will Dean make his move? Will Rick accept Dean? How will Emma look at a relationship? Does Emma prevail over her bullies? Dean and Rick marinate through the story. They bring the spice! Great story! Looking forward to meeting the wolves of Oceanside. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Nice cover art!

This was an absolutely beautiful story, and i really really loved it. An Alpha and an Omega fated mates. The Alpha of Oceanside Pack Dean likes to have run of the field, and dosnt believe in fated mates, till the day he met Rick who he finds out is a Dectective. Then all he wants to do is to care for him and Protect him, but Rick has a few issues from the last Alpha he had and run out on him when he got pregnant. Slowly and Dean gets to know Rick, but its his daughter Emma who helps bring them both together when she has issues at school with bullying. and Rick brings her to Deans Dojo to help out. After one night of pure lovemaking and a delicious knot Rick is pregant, but theres one thing that Dean hasnt told Rick and hes not sure how he is going to take him been a shifter.

Another must read and a 5 star from me. This Authors stories are always great to read and my number one in M/M , mpreg books.

This story was a wonderful read about completely two different people fated for each other. Dean who is the leader of his pack and a playboy doesn't believe in that fated mate business was totally caught off guard when he finally scented his mate Detective 'Rick. Rick is human omega knows about shifters but is hesitant to fall for the handsome sexy alpha. He has a daughter to raise and just cautious getting involved with another alpha male who could hurt him. It was fun and sometimes painful to read Dean and Rick journey to love. Rick had a lot to overcome and Dean was great and patient with him. They finally worked through the issues and became a family at the end. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Dean, the alpha of the Oceanside pack is a confirmed bachelor - until he is blindsided by the scent of his fated mate. Detective Rick, a human omega, has been burned before, does not believe in fated mates, and is doing his best as a single Dad. Neither expected the connection they feel but together they are intense, passionate, and fun. Despite, past hurts, doubts, a couple episodes of trouble, drama, hormones causing issues, and bullying, Dean and Rick manage to find and accept their love, become a wonderful family, and start their own sweet HEA.
The end of this book also gives a glimpse into the main characters for the next book and I cannot wait!!

Never say never, and really don’t bet you favorite bike if you do. Dean is an Alpha of the Oceanside pack and owner of the Hard Kicks dojo in Timberwood Cove. Rick is an Omega and a detective in Timberwood Cove policy department. He’s been loved and left before but strongly supports his community and his beautiful daughter Emma. When bullies at school and out start causing issues can these two strong men come together to provide a safe and loving family? Challenges abound and things get worse before they get better. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read. I couldn’t put it down.

Another instalment from the Timberwood Cove series.
Rick is the human omega detective with a daughter, Emma, who is being bullied at school. Emma wants to learn self defence at the local dojo but Rick is resisting until she ends up with bruising, scratches and a split lip.
Dean is the lead Alfa of the Oceanside pack. He is also owns and runs the dojo.
Dean is sceptical of the whole ‘fated mates’ and is convinced he will never settle down. He even makes a bet with Jaxon,, his friend and lead Alfa from the Timberwood Cove pack.
Then he catches Ricks scent and cannot resist the pull he feels towards Rick.

This is book 8 in the Timberwood Cove series and I loved it I have no other words to describe this story more than I love it, keep them coming Liam because I get excited when I get a chance to read your books. Dean is the alpha of the Oceanside pack and he’s a player until he smells his mate who is Rick an omega and human he’s also a cop and a single father to his 11 year old daughter Emma who is being bullied at school. I’m not going to get too much into this story because the blurb will give you the gist to this story so if you want to know what happens then you’re just going to have to get this book you won’t regret it if you do. This is a fantastic story/ series and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Rick knows about shifters and has shown hesitation on bringing them into his daughter's life. Then he meets Dean. Now, he's trying to figure out how his life is going to move forward. All this while dealing with his daughter and the bullying that she seems to have kept from him. As Dean and Rick grow closer, Rick continues to have doubts on if Dean will stay and those fears will overflow.

Dean has earned the reputation of being popular :) and has no desire to meet his fated mate. That changes when he sees Rick. Trying to keep himself patient to allow the time that Rick needs, Dean finds himself falling further in love with Rick and Emma.

Rick is a detective at Timberwood Cove and has been rainsing Emma alone. When she is bullied at school, he takes her to a self defence group run by Dean, who is the alpha of the nearby Oceanside Pack. They had met briefly when fighting the rogue dragons.
Dean is totally unprepared to settle down - he has no wish to find his mate - but when he meets Rick at Bishop's bar, everything changes for him, to Jaxon's delight. But the path of fated love is never smooth! What will cause the problems between these two? Will they be able to work their way hrough them all? I love these books!

Another Timberwood Cove story, but this time a little different. The story focuses on the alpha of the neighbouring pack, Dean. He is good to his pack, but loves to be a player and is absolutely sure he will never settle down. Until he meets his mate....
Trying to deny the pull is impossible, but persuading Rick, who is a single dad human of a teenage daughter, to give him a chance is not easy.
A good story in the tradition of the Timberwood Cove series, with many well-known characters, but now an expansion to the neighbouring Oceanside Pack.

This is another amazing book in this series and I couldn't put it down. I love the bet Jaxon makes with Dean at the beginning. Little does Dean know his life's about to change. Dean and Rick are fated mates and it takes Rick's daughter to help bring them together. This is a sweet story and I loved seeing them overcome adversity together. As the book ends I'm left with a tease of what's to come, and I can't wait for the next story.
I highly recommend this book and this series.

Dean is the alpha of Oceanside pack who planned on staying single. Rick is a Detective in Timberwood Cove. They met each other at a bar. Rick's daughter was being bullied in school. He enrolled her in a Karate class lead by Dean. He asked Rick out on a date. They tried to take things slow. After a few mishaps in their lives, they had a claiming ceremony. Dean took both Rick and Emma as his family. They added to that with their son Christian.

Who is Dean? Where is Timberwood Cove? Who is Jaxon Parsons and why is Dean meeting up with him? What bet do they make during their lunch conversation that made me giggle? Who are Rick and Tory? What is happening with Emma at school that has Rick and Troy concerned? Why does Emma end up at the dojo? Who owns and runs it? There are some very tense moments, moments that made me want to cry, and one heck of an HEA! Enjoy the read!

I enjoyed this. Dean and Rick made a good couple and I liked seeing them both struggle in different ways with their situation. This story had a good balance of the fated mate trope while also dealing with fighting against fate. I also really enjoyed seeing Dean interact with Emma and how he slowly proved himself to Rick.

This is definitely not a standalone as characters and events from previous books are mentioned, so you’ll definitely get more enjoyment if you’ve read the entire series.

Overall an entertaining shifter romance!
