Since I was old enough to understand I knew I was worthless. A girl child when my powerful politician of a mother prayed for a boy. Someone to mold in her image. I stayed out of her way, until I couldn’t, and she made me regret every stumble, every misstep, every breath.

Like clockwork, she paid off doctors to drag me into a mental hospital at her most crucial career moments. I rotted behind cinderblock walls for six months at a time. It became my life...until I met him.

Ash. A one night stand in the back seat of his car turns into my only solace while locked away. He pretends I’m just another patient, until I force him to see me...the woman...Kory...someone who needs him more than anyone else.

My mother is a monster. I’m nothing more than a pawn. But Ash...he’s my salvation.

Hades and Persephone like you’ve never seen them. This is magic, this is menace, this is myth...with a dark twist.

DERANGED: A hades and Persephone full length story by 'New to me author, Monica Corwin's' (Twisted Myth #1) Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.' This is Persephone and Ashton's story.

The cover is amazing, the synopsis pulled me in, the storyline hooked me in even further. This was so easy to get into, a unique, unputdownable read which got its clutches into from the very first chapter.

Persephone aka Kory is a pawn of her mother's, hidden away from the rest of the world every six months in a mental institution so that she's out of sight during her political campaign. Like a puppet on a string Kory knows not to fight it.

Before she's thrown into the mental institution again for another six month stint her last night of freedom on the town sees her having a one night fling, this man becomes so much more, he becomes her salvation. A Doctor that has access to Kory's files digs deeper and when things don't add up he fights in her corner.

No diagnosis, her medications didn't make sense, and her session notes seemed perfunctory.

I can honestly say I’ve not read anything like this story before, I loved how all the names were linked with the different characters in the book, that was so cleverly done.

The only thing I would’ve liked is that this book was longer, being a short quick read I felt like it lost character development, I didn’t fully feel their connection, but overall a good read which I enjoyed.

Received an ARC for a honest review

So I’m really confused with this book because I didn’t hate it but didn’t love it either. I expected this book to be dark romance as Hades and a Persephone were referenced in the blurb but it wasn’t dark at all.

Ash, the doctor was a genuinely nice guy.
Kory, she was a feisty and a nice person too. So I just didn’t get the dark vibe here.

So Kory’s mom is a senator, every 6 months she sends Kory to a prestigious facility where basically doctors are hired to make sure she doesn’t escape and ruin her mother’s campaign. Year after year the doctors would just diagnose Kory with some random disorder, take the hush money and move on with their life except for Ash.

Ash and Kory actually meet the night before she was going to be institutionalized, and they have sex in Ash’s car and go their separate ways. Until the meet again under different circumstances.

Now Kory is trying to decide if she should trust Ash and ask for his help to escape the place and her mother or will he let her down like all the other doctors have.

The mom was a class A bitch. Hated her for what she put Kory through all her life.

The issue I had with this book is that once Ash finally believed Kory about her mother, things went too mushy mushy too soon between them and then I just wasn’t interested in the story anymore. And when the book finally ended the ending felt incomplete. Now idk if there will be another book or not.

My Rating: 3 stars!

** ARC was generously provided by the author in exchange for my honest review **

I’m always up for reading a retelling or stories inspired by classic tales. This one is based off Hades and Persephone. A Greek mythology. Whilst I’ve always been fascinated by mythologies (mostly Greek and Roman), this particular tale was one I wasn’t familiar with but was excited to dive into after having read the blurb! 😄

Set in a modern day backdrop. Kory (Persephone) and Ash (Hades) randomly meet at a bar, flirt and end up hooking up at the back seat of Hades’ car. Despite Hades’ desire to meet with Kory again, Kory knows it’s impossible with the life she’s forced to live and leaves it as a one-night stand.

Kory is placed into mental hospitals months at a time by her controlling and powerful mother. She’s practically been in and out of a mental hospitals all her life. But the difference this time around going in? Ash, the random hookup who she didn’t think she would ever see again, ends up being the new doctor assigned to care for her.

Once the surprise of seeing each other again settles down and realization sets in that they must now try to keep a strict professional relationship from here on out, Ash can’t seem to ignore (just like his ever growing feelings for Kory) his curiosity. Questions start popping up. For one thing: Why is she constantly being admitted? Especially when she’s never been diagnosed with anything that requires her to be kept within a hospital for long periods of time. The more time he spends with Kory during their therapy sessions, the more he needs to seek the truth about her.

The concept of this story initially had me hooked but after having read the entire book, I did however think it fell a little flat and could use some tweaking. The chemistry between Kory and Hades was a definite upside, and their scenes were probably the only highlight for me, but I would’ve loved to have seen some character growth. Their relationship lacked development since their first encounter (considering the lengths they both go to, to keep the other out of trouble). There’s no doubt that they care for each other, but I wasn’t completely convinced that their love was any deeper by the end of it.

Another concern I had was the lack of world-building. This was based on Greek mythology between Hades and Persephone. If you’re not familiar with their backstory or with other characters from Greek mythology, then you might have difficulty following this retelling. Although I’m familiar with the characters and know some Greek myths, as I mentioned earlier, I wasn’t familiar with Hades and Persephone’s story at all. The author mostly stuck with the original Greek names for the secondary characters, but I still felt a little lost whenever they conversed. It’s obvious they have some type of relationship, but to what extent? 🤷‍♀️ I couldn’t tell you.

The secondary characters were intriguing with a lot of potential but they were introduced into the story like I, as the reader already knew who they were and what their connection was to the protagonists. You get tidbits here and there but not nearly enough to see of their importance. For example, Ash has a couple of Fraternity brothers he gets in contact with for help but the way they talk to each other shows there’s deep history and some animosity there, but it doesn’t get divulged so you’re left with unanswered questions about their past.

However, discovering a protagonist who’s a bit of bookworm is always a plus in my opinion! I liked the idea of Kory being such a lover of books. It certainly gave her character some personality in a world where everything seemed so bleak. The way she describes how her books make her feel is so relatable and how they’ve become a sort of solace for her whilst being locked away and alone is one of the things I could identify with.

The story is fairly fast-paced with short chapters. However there was no build-up and no real details, leaving the story feeling rushed. It read more like a short story than a full-length one (easily finish in one sitting). I’m not sure if the author had planned to write a series with a continuous plot (for some reason I thought this would be a series of standalones), but the way this book concluded it seems like it might be the former. Which I’m now hoping because there’s so much more things I’d like to see from these characters.

I was hoping to have seen some more oomph and suspense. Kory’s mother had the right elements to be such a villainous character but it seemed like her full power back was held back. Ash also discovers the truth relatively quickly without too much work, which left it a little underwhelming. Although the second he finds out the truth, all medical/ professional rules get thrown out the window between Ash and Kory (which I'm not complaining about.. because the parts where they were together were the best bits!) 😅

I don’t usually mention any spelling or grammatical errors in my reviews especially when ARCs are concerned because they’re still technically in the editing phase — and these errors don’t usually affect my rating, I unfortunately couldn’t ignore the amount of editing this book requires. I found issues every second line and it reached a point where I was either rereading it over again, or I was questioning what the author was trying to say. In this case it affected my ability to really soak up and connect with the story, which was an unfortunate downer. I only hope it’ll all be revised by the time it’s released.

But overall, a good romance story inspired by one of the Greek myths. The chemistry between Kory and Ash will certainly keep you intrigued to see how everything will turn out for them in the end. I think with a little more character growth, world-building and some backstory between the characters, this series will have the potential to be amazing. There were parts that had my full attention, and I’m not gonna lie — all the sneaking around and secret rendezvous scenes were… 😍

If you’re big on Greek mythology and enjoy a retelling, then I think this book would be right up your alley. If you’re a fan of the story of Hades and Persephone, then again I think this book is for you. Give it a go. Who knows, maybe you’ll love it more! 😉

This was a very unique and quite interesting read. I have never read anything like this book. While I was very intrigued by the premise and the fact that it is based in a favorite Greek myth, the Hades and Persephone one, I have to say that it left me a bit disappointed.
I felt little connection to the characters. I felt they needed a bit more development, especially since this was a relatively short book. It really needed the character driven aspect for me to be full engaged. It wasn't for me, but it may be for others.

This was my first book from this author and it was a good read. I am not really a big fan of Greek mythology but this story made it more tolerable for me. Kory and Ash have a one-night stand and meet up again when her mom is admitted to the hospital and he is her doctor. Good chemistry and a good read.

description

This was a unique take on the Persephone and Hades by a new to me author. I liked how the characters where interwoven in the story and each had a part to play.

Kory is Persephone and her mother is an evil senator. Kory gets "locked" away every six months or so and she is about to head into her next six-month stint when a one-night-stand throws her off her game a little bit. Kory is a lover of knowledge but doesn't have enough self-worth to stand up for herself. She has a mouth on her and firey personality when she wants to though. And then she meets her new doctor. Ash finds out on his first day of work things are not going to be what he thought was going to be. He has one patient, one he did not expect to see. Then things at the new hospital don't make a lot of sense.

This was a fast read and some things got wrapped up quickly, while others seemed to not. The author left a lot of room for growth in a series so it will be interesting to see where she is going to take it. Our two characters had a lot of chemistry but at times their relationship felt a little forced to move the story along. This book had that something naughty and twisted that I enjoy and she definitely reimagined the tale of old.

Monica Corwin is a new to me author. When I read the synopsis of the book, I couldn’t pass it up. Retellings are kind of a trend right now, and I haven’t read a Hades/Persephone one until this one! “Deranged” was the perfect story to get introduced to the author’s work. Since I’m a Greek myself, I was curious to see how the author would spin the myth into modern life!!

“If I imprison my body, she won't lock up my soul.”

Kory’s life is a series of hospitalizations. Her mother has been admitting her every 6 months in order to keep her out of the spotilight. Her being a Senator, all she wants is to bury any scandal and keep her daughter away. The night before her next imprisonment, she meets a man and decides to close her night with a bang. It turns out that the man she slept him is her new doctor, Ash.

Ash took an oath to help and protect his patients. His mission is to try and make them better, so when Kory is admitted at the new clinc he’s working, his first urge is to help her. Even though she is his patient he can’t seem to keep his feelings platonic, especially after their hot night together. Soon he’ll find out that there’s more to Kory’s life and he’ll have to decide if he’s ready to fight for her.

“No one had ever believed me. No one had ever believed in me. Not until him.”

“Deranged” was a relatively fast read. It has the right amount of sexiness with a dark theme to wrap everything up. I hated Kory’s mother from the start, and I couldn’t fathom how she could treat her daughter like that. Ash and Kory’s chemistry is undeniable. Get ready for a wild ride out from the underworld!! I’m looking forward to the next stories!!!

A darkly twisted take on the Hades and Persephone Greek myth. The gorgeous cover and unique story drew me to this book and it's fast paced, dual perspective telling kept me intrigued.

Kory has resigned to her fate of being admitted into a mental health facility every 6 months by her mother, even though she knows she doesn't belong there. That is, until she meets Ash one night at a bar and everything changes.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how this relates to Hades and Persephone other than by names. However, I also don't know a lot about Greek mythology so must be missing something.

Overall Deranged was an enjoyable, quick read and I would recommend to other readers who love retellings with a twist 🖤

What a special twisted story this was. Where a mother shuts in her daughter to keep her career on track, on her way to president. How Kory lives her life the year she is free, knowing she can be locked in again. Just before she is admitted again, she has a one-night stand with a doctor who never leaves her mind.
And Ash, he just took a job for six months, not knowing he's losing his heart.

A fascinating story in which the question remains unanswered. Why does Demeter act the way she does and is Kory so docile.
Ash recognizes the gravity of the situation that Kory is as good as a prisoner, locked up for no reason.

Deranged, a retelling of the Greek myth Hades and Persephone, was an unique tale that intrigued me when I read the synopsis. It was fun trying to figure out the names and how they relate to each of the characters from the original Greek tale.
This was my first Monica Corwin novel and I did enjoy it although I wished it was longer. The main characters Ash and Kory (Hades and Persephone) had undeniable chemistry and instant attraction. With villainous characters, family dynamics, politics, steamy scenes, lies, betrayal, and deceit this story will have you rooting for the main characters. I enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to all lovers of retellings.

I've been relegated to being a passanger in
my very own life and the likelyhood of my
situation ever changing?
Unfortunately slim to none.
So here I am in some dive even most cockroaches wouldn't haunt trying to consume as much alcohol as humanly possible; and by the way there will never be enough before I run out of time.
Now all I need is a two legged dude with hopefully passible qualities but breathing might have to do.
I'm my mom's life size dolly whom she occasionally drags out to ensure all her wonderful constituents see her in the best possible light.
But when my pressence's is deemed no longer necessary well then I'm back out in the cold again.
To bad none of these poor fools can see pass the dazzling mask she wears to hide her true two-faced nature underneath.
As doctors each and everyone one of us took an oath however every single one of my predecessors before me did what was simple and easy for themselves and totally disgraced our profession.
Yep I'm stuck I was totally bamboozled by someone who then ran for the hills.
So now i'm tap dancing on thin ice desperately praying I don't fall throw; while trying to do my very level best to help a young woman everyone else failed.
After are one crazy rendezvous with a

She obviously still had the power to nearly bring me to my knees with one pouty look.
He just wished he'd seen the speeden bus before it flattened him or that his so-called friend had the stones to stand up for someone who couldn't but apparently he was like everyone else.
But true to word he wasn't willing to give in or give up and he most definitely wasn't going off into the good night like some repremanded little boy.
However once the seeds had been planted Kory couldn't bring herself to waste them she needed to see this through to fruition.
True they were both playing a risky and dangerous game of cat and mouse with a pit viper who was determined to squash them under her feet.
Yet with the end game played to satisfying conclusion I wasn't about to waste another single solitary second.
After all I had a promise to keep.

*somewhat spoilers*

I thoroughly enjoyed Monica Corwin's Deranged! This book had both great characters and a great plot. There were a few issues that I would hope are addressed before the next books in the series but I have them on my list to read in the future.

Written as an updated version of the Greek myth surrounding Persephone and Hades, the tie these two had to one another was evident from the very start (in the back seat of a car no less). The chemistry between Kory (Persephone) and Ash (Hades) was palpable and done well. There was somewhat a sense of love a first sight, but it wasn't too tropey. The update to the classic myth involved Kory being kept in a psychiatric hospital six months out of each year, with a new doctor each time meant to help "heal" her non-existent mental health issues. The setting was very interesting, but I honestly expected more mystery if you will.

Honestly, this book could have used about 50 more pages of character development and world-building. The "why" of Kory's lock-up isn't that clear or at least didn't have enough depth for me to be empathetic. Why she capitulated and why her mom did it in the first place needed more detail. Further, the resolution didn't make sense when taking the characters' original concerns into consideration. Ash and the side characters need more oomph to them but are overall intriguing. I genuinely do think these things can be resolved in the next addition to the series taking it from good to great!

I'm looking forward to reading the next books in this Twisted Myths series by Monica Corwin!

Kory was downing shots when a gorgeous man sat next to her. He had doctor written all over him, but she really didn't care. She had 12 more hours of freedom before giving giving her mother a six month break of bailing her out. And a quickie in the back of his SUV was just what she needed.

Ash was starting his new position at a mental facility today as a favor for a friend. It helped that the pay was amazing. It was nice not having to share an office with anyone anymore. He is browsing through the patient files when he hears a disturbance. He looks up from the confusing file to see what is going on. Evidently, a celebrity patient just arrived.

Although the nurse suggests that he let her sleep it off he decides to check on her. And finds something that could end his career. The woman he had sex with last night is the new patient.

Kory was the daughter of a Missouri Senator and she had 12 hours before she was locked away for another six months.

What a great book. Kory and Ash wonderful together. They have a wonderful chemistry and what they are each willing to give up for each other shows how deep they love each other. But, my heart breaks for Kory and all she suffered at her mother's hands.

You would think that Kory would have ben the "deranged", but no that title goes directly to her mother. I am really upset that Kory's mom not only got away with her crimes, but also was able to keep some control of Kory. Sorry....that woman should have had a horrible death!

I highly recommend this book and will be reading more books by Monica Corwin.

Deranged: a Hades and Persephone Story (Twisted Myth Book 1) by Monica Corwin
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Mythology nerd here. I was mega pumped to read this story because who does not know the love story of Persephone and Hades??
I loved the twist of the story that Demeter, Persephone’s mom, is a politician because weren’t all the mythological Gods essentially politicians??? She hides her daughter away in a mental institution when she is on tour for the Presidential campaign. She is also a super awesome mom….said no one ever in this book!!
Hades or Ash, is a super great doctor who is flummoxed as to why this patient is constantly locked up with no read diagnosis. He is also stunned stupid that this patient is also the hottie he picked up at the bar last night for some hot car sex action….whoops!! That is getting really close and personal with your patients!!!
The couple keep building the chemistry before they erupt, and Ash is fully invested in helping his patient out of the hospital. A few twists and turns later, and we see Demeter doing her best to derail the couple. We get a visit from Zeus and well its good to see he is still cheating on his wife Hera….again Mythology you make me so happy!!
I loved the story and look forward to more from the series because again…mythology nerd!!

Hades and Persephone like you’ve never seen them! ❤️🔥 AMAZING retelling!

If you enjoy twisted romances, Greek mythology, steamy scenes, and a forbidden love, you LOVE this book as much as I did. It’s a different kind of twist on the Hades and Persephone tale.

Persephone is a woman who goes by Kory because she hates her name. Hades is her mother, Demeter, a political powerhouse who manipulates her daughter constantly. Six months out of the year Kory is admitted to a mental hospital to keep her out of her mother’s way and to be a pawn in a medical agenda. Kory meets Ash before her admittance and they have a moment of passion before she prepares to be locked away. Turns out, he will be her new doctor during her stay. Can she convince him that there is nothing wrong with her? Will he put ethics and rules aside and follow the passion he feels for her even though she’s now his patient?

This was my first book by Monica and I can’t wait to read more from her!! Her writing is amazing. Her characters are wonderfully created with a little tragedy and a lot of passion. Her stories are unique and so enjoyable to read. I would definitely recommend reading this book specifically and then checking Monica out as an author overall. I personally can’t wait to read more of her books!

What happens when your previous one night stand turns out to be your new doctor during your 6 month forced stay in a mental hospital? A hot, undeniable instant love story that will have you devouring the pages of this novella in one sitting. A play on the classic Greek mythology of Hades and Persephone, Deranged by Monica Corwin is an erotic twist with a deliciously forbidden dash of a doctor/patient relationship. Which I must say is definitely a favorite forbidden theme of mine. ⁣

Ash is determined to release Kory from the hell she is locked away in every 6 months. He thought he could keep it professional but once he finds out what’s truly happening it all goes out the window. He’s so addicted to her Ash will give up everything to have her.

Kory has always found her solace in books but after having a taste of her doctor they no longer are enough. She is not afraid to relish in her attraction to him, she’s as demanding and alpha as Ash between the sheets. It’s always refreshing to read about a heroine who gives as good as she takes.

The chemistry and dirty talk in this quick novella are certainly on fire. I enjoyed the use of the traditional Greek references through out the story and even though it’s nothing like the original the themes that matter most are highlighted.

Deranged by Monica Corwin has a great storyline and I absolutely enjoyed how the story played out. Twisted Myths is such a cool idea! Persephone and Ashton have a great instant connection and I loved how their ‘normal world’ meet was played out before life in Hell.

I loved all the name games with the different characters in the book. Ashton to Ash to Hades/fire/underworld, Donny to Don to Posiedon, Nurse Styx to the link between the normal world and closed off world and then to The River Styx. These were only three of the ‘make you think about how their name relates to the classic myth’ and the others were really fun to figure out as well.

Persephone’s role in the story was very good and I feel Monica Corwin wrote her character well especially how she felt she was a pawn of her mother’s. If anything, even though Hades isn’t comparable to Satan on the evil level, I did feel Ashton could have been a little darker to get what he wanted. He was a fighter, though, and did everything he could to get Persephone in the end.

This really is a fun book if you love Greek myths and a little twisted romance! Enjoy!

This was my first book that I’ve read from Monica and it won’t be my last! I’ve already purchased my next read from her...
This book was interesting and maybe somewhat creepy, considering how much power Kory allowed her mother to have over her. Kory’s mother is a mean heartless, person hell bent on keeping her daughter locked away from society when her political career demands her attention. The night prior to Kory’s latest lock up she meets the new doctor (Ash) but neither of them know he’s HER new doctor for the next six months. After the shock wears off Ash becomes obsessed with diagnosing Kory, something no doctor before him was able to do. Despite Kory’s constant pleas to Ash to listen to her, she’s not sick, she’s not mental, she’s being locked away by her mother, Ash can’t believe a parent would do that to their child. But one night he witnesses Kory’s mother verbally attacking her and realizes that Kory was telling him the truth. Now Ash must find a way to free Kory from the pits of hell, and in order to do so he may have to make a deal with the devil himself. But if the devil can free Ash’s love from hell than it’ll be worth the fight...

4.25/5 ⭐️
2.25/5 🌶

Tropes:
- forbidden
- doctor x patient
- mental hospital
- politician’s daughter
- insta love?

POV: first person - dual

Type: interconnected stand-alone (book one)

Kory's life is a series of hospitalizations. Her mother, being a Senator, wants is to bury any scandal and keep her daughter away. The night before her next six month imprisonment, she meets a man at a bar and decides to close her night with a bang. It turns out that the man she slept him is her new doctor, Ash.

I won’t lie, I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was different from anything I’ve read but I really liked it. Ash was willing to do anything for Kory. Loved him and I especially loved Kory’s personality. She was fun and sarcastic but had a heart of gold.

This is supposed to be loosely based on the myth of Hades and Persephone but I didn’t get that vibe at all throughout the book. Honestly I enjoyed the story without it so it didn’t effect my overall rating.

This did end with a HEA but didn’t have an epilogue. The ending was kinda abrupt and it would have been nice to see what these characters do after everything they went through.

When six months of the year Kory’s mom puts her up into a mental institution so that she isn’t in the way during her political campaign. One thing Kory’s mom never figured was that the doctor would actually look into her daughters past and figure out that there was really nothing wrong with her and there’s no reason she need to be mentally instituted. Until Ash came along he was a doctor that was going to look into all of his patients passed and try to figure out the real reason why all the past doctors would allow this to happen. It didn’t matter to him that Kory’s mom was famous political personnel running for presidential office and had paid all the doctors to basically babysit her daughter. He was going to do what his rights were to make it his patient and get her out of the mental institution. But things seem to get tricky when lust fogs both Kory and Ash’s mine and they start falling for each other things get tricky and some might have to sell their soul to the devil. It’s over it was very enjoyable book not as dark as I thought it was going to be, but I really enjoyed it and it was pretty quick read.

Deranged was the modern telling of Hades & Persephone with a big dose of dark. See, Kory (Persephone) had a horrible mother, who needed Kory out of sight when it's time for campaign trails, so said mother puts her in a mental institution for 6 months out of the year. Kory, unfortunately, has no choice but to go along with it, which made me so sad more than once. Now, Ash (Hades) came in to play at first with a hookup in the backseat of his car, but then Kory sees him at the institution where he's a doctor so awkward since they have so much chemistry that won't be denied, not to mention, Ash is truly horrified at what's happening to her. This was a short(ish) read that I had wished were longer because it would have been the perfect read to me with more length. Anyway, to decide for yourselves, hit those one click buttons since I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

How a woman can give birth to a child and treat her like Demeter treated Kory, is totally beyond me!

Doctors have let Kory down all her life, rather than trying to help her in these mental institutions they do as requested by her mother. Ash's ethical code and his attraction to Kory cause him to dig into her reports to understand what he is really dealing with.

Ash and Kory had chemistry from the very beginning. This chemistry allowed Kory to trust Ash, something she has never done before. It was so interesting to see how he want all out to help Kory!

A quick read but so very interesting.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read, Happily Ever After, Page-turner, Steamy, Twisted, Wonderful characters

I wish I had more knowledge of Greek Mythology, I think if I did I would have more fun with the story. This twist on Hades and Persephone’s love story was written well, I just spent too much time trying to connect it to the actual story.

That being said the love between Ash and Kory was doomed from the start, but with any good love story there’s drama and just enough steam to make it interesting. I do wish there would have been some more character development with the other characters (which is where the Greek mythology knowledge would have helped I’m sure).

So if you love your Greek mythology do not pass this one up!

Deranged is a modern day retelling of Hades and Persephone with a dark twist. Kory (Persephone) meets Ash (Hades) in a bar and have a one night stand. They meet again when Kory’s mother admits her into the mental institution where Ash is a doctor. Kory’s mother does this every six months so she’s hidden away during her political campaign. I truly hated Kory’s mother! Ash digs into Kory’s files and figures out that things just don’t add up. Kory finally has someone fighting for her and in her corner, yay!! I loved Ash and Kory and their chemistry is undeniable. I love Greek myths so that really worked for me in this book. A really amazing read and I highly recommend it.

This was my first read from this author and I really enjoyed her writing. The concept of this story had me intrigued as I love a retelling of stories that are inspired by classic tales and Greek mythology is one of my guilty pleasures.

Once I started this one I was hooked until I finished. The main characters Ash and Kory (Hades and Persephone) was electric and off the charts hot. With drama, passion, politics, lies, betrayal, and steam this is one you will devour quickly and enjoy.

I'm interested to see what this author brings us next.

I read the synopsis before I grabbed this book, I saw it was by Miss Corwin and I could not click fast enough. When I started this book I was unsure but after reading it and begging for the next one I am so happy I did. This has the best feeling in the end I have had in a hot second. I know you will feel it too once you read it! Monica does a remarkable job in her telling of this story. She is engaging and gets to the bitterness while weaving a tale that will have praising her in the end! I highly recommend this book!

Ash and Kory are drawn to each other. Their one night stand leaves them confused and wanting each other. Kory's mother is a devil incarnated. She doesn't deserve a mother title. She is coldhearted woman. She only cares about her career. I missed an epilogue on that. Anyway, the story is fresh and interesting enough. I feel sory for Kory, for never having someone to show her how to be loved. That is why she is really damaged. I liked this book.
