Who is Margaret Gunn💃💋?

Exactly the Woman💃💋 he was expecting.....
Being on the wrong side of a Scottish uprising against the 👑Queen has put Margaret's clan, the Gunns in her crosshairs. But instead of rounding up and wiping out the Gunns, the 👑Queen is going to force the Laird's daughter to marry into her supporters clan, the MacKays.

Lady Isobel, the daughter of Laird Gunn, and also Margaret's cousin, is the young woman chosen by the 👑Queen. Only Isobel has run off, leaving her father to come to Orphan Margaret💃💋 and ask her to take her place as his other daughter. There's a family resemblance, since the Laird is her Uncle, and he promises to care for her little sisters, Laura and Mariah, and her best friend, Ann. Financial Circumstances being dire for Margaret💃💋, she accepts.

Margaret💃💋 is introduced to her betrothed, Laird Alexander MacKay🐺🍆⛲🔪, and they get off to a rocky start, typical of an arranged marriage👰!

ARC Received from Bookfunnel🌀
I also got this book with KU.

Margaret💃💋 and Alexander🐺🍆⛲🔪 get into one misadventure after another on their way back to his castle🏰, much of it caused by her lies, but the trials help to bring them closer together, and finally to find 💘love.

Great book! Great 🌎world building! Adamina's books never disappoint! This is an ADULT Romance and adventure.

Four stars for the new novel

"The Highlander's Torn Bride" is a great addition to Adamina Young's scottish romance novels. In this one she has created a uniqe heroine who does not fit into traditional female roles. She is strong, independent and a provider for her parentless younger sisters. The hero in this story is a man who does not trust women, especially society women. This set up the rest of the story in which there are several interesting situations in which both main characters use their individual strengths to further the plot of the novel. I gave it 4 stars.

What a Fantastic Story!! Alexander and Margaret were a delightful, very likeable and, engaging individuals with real flaws. The story hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. I could not wait for the story to unfold. Throw in all the drama, deceit, sizzling romance, and suspense, kidnapping. This book will hold your attention to the fullest. Remarkable emotions, and unforgettable characters. Another Must Read by Adamina Young.

WOW!! Another must read by Adamina!! With a forced marriage, deceit, suspense, romance and so much more! She has you from the start! Wonderful flawed characters that make you feel their emotions. Couldn’t put the book down...I just had to know how it all would go. Highly highly recommend!!

I received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.

Lovely story, but a bit underdeveloped

I really enjoyed the plot and all the adventures. Unfortunately, I felt like they were not being explored to their full extent and left me wanting and a bit frustrated. There is also Margaret’s brother whose name goes from Alan to Alec... Overall, a potentially excellent story that unfortunately feels like it is surface deep.

So intense

From the beginning this book has been very intense, in a very good way of course. All that Margaret has gone thru and still she has maintained a strong character, very good.

Exciting!

A cleverly created romance filled with fear, anger, remorse, friends, family, and always the unknown elements that always transpire in a novel.

Loved it.

I enjoyed the story and the romance. Expected a different romance with Gavin and Margaret, but the one with Alexander and Margaret was richer and even more romantic.

Who Is The Real Margaret?

Margaret worked on the docks just to feed her sisters and best friend Ann. Her brother took every monthly striped check sent by their Uncle to feed his habits of gambling and women instead of using the money meant to care for his brothers family. The girls were destitute while the brother did as he pleased. The Uncles daughter was pledged to marry the heir to the MacKay Laird by Queen Mary to bring about peace. The daughter Isobel decided she could do better and ran away. The Uncle approached Margaret with a plan for her to take Isobel's place and guarantee the support of Margaret's sisters.
Because she knew without a bride the Queen would destroy her clan Margaret agreed.
Alexander MacKay was not too happy since he planned to stay a bachelor awhile longer, but saw the wisdom to accept the Queens command. He had seen too many greedy and self-serving women and figured since they were rich the bride-to-be would be the same.
He was surprised at his betrothed since she sent mixed signals. She pretended to be her snobby cousin which he didn't like then her true personality would show through which he did like. He was confused.
It wasn't until after a kidnap attempt was foiled that he broke her down for the truth. He liked the real Margaret.
This is a nice romance and I enjoyed reading it.

Highlander's Torn Bride by Adamina Young is a very pleasant novella about Margaret, an impoverished niece of a noble and Alexander, the man she marries as a substitute for her cousin. Margaret is the daughter of a dead merchant and his noble wife. The has two younger sisters and a brother who shows up only when it is time for the allowance sent by their uncle to arrive, and then disappears again. It is up to Margaret to support them all, which she does by working on the docks, tossing about bundles of leather: a man's work. One day her uncle appears to inform her that the queen as commanded his daughter marry a man from an opposing clan, to ensure peace. His daughter, Isobel, has not only refused, but has run off. After a period of negotiating, Margaret agrees.

This was a predictable but enjoyable novella by fledgling author, Young. She has a simplistic plot but it was well written. He characters were quite good, full of personality and verve. Margaret turned out to be even more spirited than expected and Alexander was a good and kind man. Isobel, when she showed up, turned out to be the unpleasant person we had been given to understand that she was. It was all very worth it. It gave me a very pleasant few hours of down time. I recommend it highly.

I was given a free ARC of Highlander's Torn Bride. All opinions and interpretations expressed herein are solely my own.

Nice take on an old standard, nicely plotted and well-written, without being either too fast or too slow. Nice mix of action and narrative.
Mary, Queen of Scots, once again steps in and weds her rebellious subjects off to her loyal ones in the hopes of bringing the rebellious faction back under her royal thumb. Lady Margaret Gunn had not planned matrimony to one of her clan's worst enemies, but when her cousin Isobel disappears rather than go through the ceremony, Lady Margaret is left with no choice if she wants her clan, including her two younger sisters, to survive. Already trapped in the coils of deception, Margaret foolishly makes a promise to her current intended, not knowing what future disaster it will bring. When Margaret and her new husband foil her rejected suitor's plans, Margaret breaks down and tells her husband everything…including the fact that she isn't the bride he was promised. Now that everything is out in the open, the two have a chance at happiness. Or do they? Find out for sure by reading "Highlander's Torn Bride", a delightful little book by Adamina Young, a promising new star in the literary world.

The Ultimate Deception - Love of Family and Clan

Margaret, niece of Laird Gunn works the docks to support her 2 younger sisters. Imagine her surprise, when her uncle comes to visit informing her that the Queen demands the marriage of his daughter to their enemy, Alexander MacKay. Laird Gunn has no recourse but to agree for the sake of the clan. There is one huge problem - his daughter disagrees and disappears. He then informs her that she will have to pretend to be his daughter and marry the enemy herself for all their sakes. She agrees with a demand of her own - her sisters will live in the castle and be provided for and she will bring her friend Ann as her companion. Thus the deception begins. The story is well written and the main characters are engaging and very down to earth. It is fast paced and will keep you glued to the end. Love is in the air

I liked that Alex was nervous to meet Margaret and wanted to please her and he seemed taken with her. I liked their undercurrents of attraction. I liked that Alex was patient with Margaret. Isobel was a snake , and Gavin really opened ny eyes to his true nature. I couldn't believe Alex fell for Gavin and Isobel's tricks!! Smh. Surprise twist and a hea ending.
