Too much promotion of formulaic radio styles. Eg don’t play a slow record at the top of your show, don’t talk unless you have to. It’s like a handbook for the very worst style of radio such as Magic or Heart where an iPhone in shuffle would be a better bet.

If you’re new to radio then it’s good at explaining the jargon but if you want to do innovative radio then listen to some of the best podcasts to learn what works.

Essential textbook with phenomenal primary sources and all bases covered. As useful as a £500 seminar on how to make great audio, for a fraction of the price!
