Debilitating stress causes even psychics to make catastrophic decisions. At least that's my excuse. The snooty call from my future employer put a crimp in my plans. I can be frugal, still waiting seven weeks for my first payday is a lot to ask of a girl.
I can't help wondering about Granny's preposterous manifestation beliefs. I know they're hogwash. Too bad, I could use a magical cash bonus to pay my rent.
Sonia and Trent suggest we make a road trip to the casinos of Biloxi. Surprisingly I let them talk me into driving them.
Is it fate at work to manifest the cash I need or a perilous mistake? Turns out, Casinos are rife with a secret host of residual emotions. Never good for the sanity of a psychic.
I'm petrified by the mind-boggling number of spirits lurking the hotel floors hidden from view of the guests. I'm frantic to win my elusive jackpot. Any more time in the strange spectral environment is risky, and I may be trapped forever.

I learned early it's not acceptable for me to talk about the weird things I see at night or the whispering voices in my room. They told me there's no such thing as ghosts. Dead folks don't hang out in little boy's bedrooms, and I have an overly active imagination.
They were right about the imagination.
Later, I discovered that while talking about "such nonsense" is taboo, writing stories about paranormal events is acceptable. I've been hooked ever since.
You may find the female characters in my books to be ridiculously smart, tough, resourceful, and occasionally a hot mess. This is not only because I find this style of protagonist intriguing. Writers write what they know. Where I come from, most women fit into this category.
April May Snow, the protagonist in the prequel series The Gifts Awaken and the full-length novel series Foolish, is a young woman who personifies a strong woman. She just doesn't know it yet.
The April May Snow books are a paranormal women's fiction series. They are not a midlife series. Considering the multitude of dangerous situations April finds herself in, they might be past her midlife. Let's hope not. I've come to love her and hope you will, too.
To round out my Bio, I was born in San Diego and raised in Birmingham. I like to think I keep a California surfer's attitude toward life most days while conversing in a heavy Southern drawl.
I now live a few miles outside of Nashville. Since I can't play the guitar, which is a genuine impediment to being a successful country music singer, I continue to write books, which I enjoy immensely. I hope you'll receive as much joy from reading one of my books as I get from bringing it to life.
Being broke is not a joke. April had options. I resented to high heaven that a broke graduate never considered a summer JOB!!! What a princess! I had enjoyed April until this book. Now I really dislike her. Wait tables, work retail make a honest buck for five weeks. I will take a break from April before I read the next book.
Please invest in a proofreader. The misspelled words and grammatical errors are painful. For instance, it is “wrought iron” not “rod iron”. There is a difference between possessive use of apostrophes and contractions.
Another enjoyable romp in this prequel series. In this one April heads to Biloxi with a couple of new friends to test out one of the friends new gambling system. As usual, April's “gifts” cause her problems.
Really enjoy the character April May Snow. Well written series of her adventures due to some unusual gifts. Can't wait to see what comes next in a most unusual coming of age tale.
Love a good Ghost story with a hook. It reads well at a quick pace. Love the setting as Biloxi is a fave of mine personally. This book hits on multiple levels
I love the April Snow book series .This series is funny, touching, and if you like a bit of horror where the heroine comes out alive; this series is for you.
A good read but she should have been paid after all there were plenty of witnesses and was it a lucky ticket? Feeling a bit miffed that those weren't answered. Her new job has run into a snag. It doesn't start for 5 weeks! Now she has no money and nowhere to stay. However she's trusting that the manifestation of luck that her Gran told her about would come true. A request to take a young couple to a casino means she'll at least have a few meals and a bed for a couple of nights. A win, a ghost, a tip to the police and a robbery plus a whole lot of bullets flying around. Will she and the young couple survive? Win enough to follow their dreams? Or will everything come to a halt under a hail of bullets?
