Wright can't help it if he's holding a grudge. These are the annoyances people have to put up with when they basically run you off on the very day you were about to confess your love and then proceed to pop up every offing where!
I liked the book and how they finally caught the killer but it was so anti-climactic. I waited 15 books to figure who the killer was and we didn’t even get to read him get killed or explain himself.
This felt like the last Terra Mortis book, even though the whole "where are the drugs coming from and how can we stop them?" plot was never fully resolved. Maybe that will flow back into the Chosen series. There is no other set of male characters waiting to be shoved together, or even a single guy who seems to need a mate.
Dustin and Wright's romance was enough to keep my attention to finish the book. There was one surprise that was kind of nice. The characterization, as usual for J.D. Light, was rather loose. We never learn very much about Dustin or Wright--including Wright's profession.
Opportunities were missed in this series to develop the setting of the school and community. I was kind of expecting this to be like a sexy Harry Potter Goes to Magical College, but it left the school pretty fast and wandered around the community looking for shy single guys and serial killers.
Wright and Dustin's story was sweet and heartwarming, but since this is the last book in the series, I gave it an overall rating.
There were two main storylines in this series: the neon pill and the serial killer. I feel like neither were properly resolved. The pills just disappeared all of a sudden while the killer was killed and we never even found out why he was killing all these people.
So yeah, though the romance parts were all lovely, I wish the author had also focused on the overall storyline a bit more.
I have mixed emotions over this book. On the one hand, I didn't think that Wright and Dustin really clicked - I didn't feel any chemistry between these characters, and neither of them had much of any emotional investment in Terra Mortis, or the other characters we've gotten to know. On the other hand, I loved that this wasn't simply a filler book on the overall plot, and that no one has to die of fright any longer.
Anticlimactic and so very disappointing with not even Wright or Dustin to redeem it.
The first 13 books were fine but I suddenly lost the will to read the last two as I expected that there wouldn't be a satisfactory resolution and I was right!
It took me two days before I read 14 and 15! I felt short-changed given the effort the author put into the series to find the last two screwed it up.
The final novella in the MM series. There is one more, but its FF. I really did like this couple. Wright as the jilted friend, and Dustin who made a bad decision, trying to save the love of his life. The psychopath gets caught, there's an HEA. What more do you need.
I really loved this book again it had scary bits in especially talking abouth nightmares and fears. I am glad Wright gave D a second chance and they both realised they were fated mates. Wish this series continued
I really enjoyed the earlier books where I think more time was spent with characters and developing interesting species and there were more fun discoveries. Last 5 books or so in 'series' were way way way too formulaic, even for a formula fated mate book. The overarching crime story line (both of them) also fizzled out which was a bit disappointing.
Dustin pushed wright away thinking he was protecting him & only hurting them in the end! They love each other so much and you can see it in everything they do! It’s bittersweet this being the last book but there’s another spin off yay! Lol can’t wait’ ❤️❤️😀😀
That was anticlimactic. Also the last book made it seem like the killer was the smelly cop. This book didn't even identify the killer. He was just suddenly there and then gone again but his description didn't seem to match the cop. So who is he?
This story was so touching and bittersweet. Dustin and Wright were great together even before they realized that they were mates. I enjoyed the style of writing and I appreciated the ending. It was a very warm hearted and amusing read. =)
I have really enjoyed this whole series. I hope that was not the last book since the bad guy was caught. But knowing that Wright and Dustin finally find their way back to each other and finally claim each other is fantastic. Love all of J.D lights series.
Like the rest of the series I really enjoyed this book. There was a bit more angst than in most but I think that was necessary to the story. You could probably read this as a standalone but it makes more sense if you've read the others.
