In this new 16th edition of California Real Estate Principles, we exclusively use forms provided by the California Association of Realtors. This class is intended to help with the requirements to pass the California Real Estate Salespersons State exam.
This book definitely has good basic essential information regarding the Principles of California Real Estate; however, it is redundant and poorly written at times. The editor missed a lot of mistakes. I haven't read other authors' versions of California Real Estate Principles, so I don't know if there are ones out there that are better. I found this one to be publicly rated the highest, which is really surprising to me. Two things I REALLY appreciated in this book were the terminology matching and the quizzes at the end of each chapter. (Chapter 11 provides the wrong answers in the back of the book for its quiz.)
Poorly organized. Yes, I'd agree that all the relevant information is included, but often the simplest and most necessary explanation for the often very technical concepts is buried after lines or even paragraphs of legalese. The writing itself is often unclear and esoteric. Lots of jargon and fairly poor definition of terms. Could be much simpler.
Another class closer to my degree. This is a pretty good textbook in spite of the typical, outlandish price. Four stars because it could really use a good editing for typos.
