In book one, a Princess and HER Scoundrel:
Paris James, the dashing heartthrob of the high seas, knows how to throw epic parties on his yacht for his father's richest clients. Testing and perfecting luxurious water toys, he lives a carefree bachelor's life. He has no room for love until destiny helps him win the royal Tyndarian bracelet in a game of chance—-and with that bracelet, comes a very special girl who steals his breath away.
Laney Moon, a sweet and dedicated first-grade teacher, leads a normal life, but her world turns upside down when her cousin loses her treasured heirloom bracelet in a rigged poker game--a terrible blow that could cost her grandmother's beloved home. Determined to reclaim what rightfully belongs to her, Laney stows aboard Paris's majestic vessel and is shocked to run straight into the arms of a man whose stormy blue eyes and irresistible smile ignites a fire in her heart she's never imagined.
In a whirlwind of romance and chance, Paris proposes an exhilerating gamble: if Laney can convince the other guests aboard the yacht that she is the long-lost princess who once possessed the precious bracelet, he will gladly hand it back to her. As their daring charade unfolds, they unwittingly attract the attention of shadowy forces. Are they after the priceless artifact or is there a deeper mystery at play? It's up to Paris to be the daring and seemingly uncaring pirate, all to keep Laney safe from harm.
As danger lurks and the stakes build, so do their feelings for each other. Paris finds himself torn between shielding Laney from her haunting past and forging a future where she becomes an irreplaceable part of his life... because, princess or not, Laney Moon has already sailed away with his heart.
USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Stephanie Fowers loves bringing stories to life, and depending on her latest madcap ideas will do it through suspense, fantasy, historical, contemporary, and of course... romance, romance, romance. Presently, she lives in Salt Lake where she's living the life of the starving artist.
It's been a while since I read a book from this series, so I have gone out of track with the characters. But I have read Paris' brother Ryker's story so some of the personages were somewhat familiar. That being said, it was not my cup of tea. The plot seemed far fetched and unplousable. Laney owns a super expensive bracelet and when she discovers her cousin Milo has gambled it away, goes alone on a yacht belonging to a rich and possibly dangerous man to get it back. And they make a silly wager for the bracelet. Laney has to pretend she is a princess. Laney and Paris were good for each other - she helped him through his insecurities and he was ready to slay dragons for her (though not at the beginning). But the other characters... meh Narrative: 3rd person following Paris and Laney Religion: none Sensuality: clean
This is one of the most exciting Billionaire Bachelor Cove books as far as intense action is concerned. There is conspiracy, kidnapping, death threats, deceit, and revealed truths that change the pattern of each character’s life. Laney somehow sneaks on board the yacht of one of the billionaire bachelors of the cove. She must prove herself to be a princess in order to win back a precious bracelet of her family. Paris finds that he doesn’t mind his stowaway near as much as he thought he would when he was first confronted by her. He does find himself in a very strange predicament when suddenly he must prove she is a princess to his friends. So many lies and stories quickly turn the “two week yacht party” into a very dangerous game. Falling in love is put on the back burner while staying alive becomes Laney and Paris’s primary objective. There are plenty of twists and turns throughout the book and tons of action, but it felt just a little too convoluted at times. This book was enthralling the whole time and captivated my attention throughout. I just felt like things were not quite resolved by the end. I have a few questions about the future of a certain country...
A carefree bachelor is what Paris seems to be but underneath his persona is a caring man that has his own insecurities and has had to deal with abuse from his father. He has also had to try to protect his younger brother from their father for years. So when Laney shows up unexpected on his boat and needs protection he knows what he is about. Plus he is intrigued by the woman. There is a lot more going on then either Laney or Paris can know. This book is a romance but it is also a suspense with a bit of a mystery. It will keep the reader on their toes.
Stephanie Fowers book, A Princess and Her Billionaire Scoundrel at Sea is an action-packed, adventure from start to finish. From international intrigue to family betrayal, then unknown identities, this story will keep you riveted until finished. It's almost like a spy novel!
A Princess and Her Billionaire Scoundrel was such a fun book! It was SO HARD to put it down in the wee hours of the morning, so I could get some sleep. The story was well-paced, the romance sweet, the kisses hot, and the action was believable and not at all graphic. Laney was a sweet character who was easy to root for, and Paris was as charming as all get out. I can't wait to dive into book #2 with Ryker!
This was a great story! I was hooked! Riches, “pirates”, kidnapping, escapes, adventures on the high seas! Such a fun read! I definitely recommend it and look forward to reading all the books in the series!
Easy to follow, even if you (like me) are not as familiar with Greek lore. The action did seem a bit jumpy (where did the boat come from?), but maybe I was skipping. Who knows? Worth the read, though.
An exciting book full of mysteries, secrets, and lots of gambles as well as some kidnapping, terrorists, and jealousy. Laney's sweetness through it all is wonderful.
A great romantic adventure! I love this story! It's a clever retelling of the Iliad so if you know the characters of that story it will add a new dimension to the book. I loved the action and adventure but there is also plenty of romance! There is some humor too that keeps things fun. You don't want to miss this story!
I received an advance copy of this book for beta readers and I also purchased it so I can read it again!
I was immediately sucked into this book and didn't put it down until finished. Despite his parents being the WORST, and his less-than-stellar reputation, there was a lot more to Paris than being a bored billionaire. Fiercely loyal to his brother and then Laney, I really loved Paris. And I appreciate that Stephanie's books are longer, giving you a chance to get to know her characters while they learn about each other.
I received a free copy, and I would honestly recommend this book to anyone who like a clean, well-written, keep-you-on-your-toes romance. I can see at least 4-6 characters from this book deserving to have their own stories told, so here's hoping!
Despite being a less than plausible plot, it managed to maintain enough believability to carry it off for the most part. It was funny and suspenseful and exciting. I went from suspecting one person to another. The ending was both expected and unexpected. I would definitely like to see a sequel that tells us the outcome of Paris & Laney's next bet!
I enjoyed this book very much. It grabbed my attention immediately and kept it. There were flawed but likable characters and many twists and turns in the plot that kept me guessing. I gave the book a rating of 4.5 because at one point the plot became so twisted that I couldn't follow it at all. Stephanie Fowers is a new author for me. I hope to read more of her work. There were several characters in this book that would be good candidates for stories and I'd love to know more about them.
I could never understand why someone can say they like someone and still think the worst about them, as Paris does here!? A very convoluted story with lots of hidden agendas. Some real nasty characters too. I enjoyed Cassen and the Ajax's (though they weren't very good guards). Laney was the gem of the story.
Romantic suspense at its best. Hints of who is a “bad guy” and who is not without hitting you over the head with it all. This is a definite page turner. I finally gave up on getting anything done until I finished.
