If anyone give this book less than 5 ⭐️ you didn’t read the Authors note 📝 Reading is fundamental 😂 So where to start 🤔 No book BAE so sad I thought it would be Bridge but I hated him in the end. Brix has been through a lot I would like to see more of his character in book 2. I don’t care for Bridge Cousin JuJu. Darren is a hoeass lying as marriage buster! I like Saylor but she has so many demons. Kenni didn’t turn out to be the girl I thought she would be. I don’t condone domestic violence on NO LEVEL & she stayed through it all even the outside kids 🤦🏼♀️ and Kenni mama I could’ve jumped through this book & kicked her ass! Will Kenni win in the end? Did Hans & his brother end up on top 🤔 will Bridge ever let Kenni go? I’m scared for her. Part 2 please don’t be far from us 🙏🏽 Oh by the way this isn’t a quick read I stayed up to 6am to finish so please don’t not leave reviews like this book was rushed because it wasn’t! Minimum grammatical errors so no excuse guys! Happy reading
Whoa! Saylor and Kenni go through it all in a year’s time that made them grow up fast. Saylor gets in the game and gets out while Kenni becomes a trophy girlfriend to a man who abuses her. These two need to lean on each other at various times as best friends and survivors of the game.
This was really dope! I like the way it took us all the way back to 2008 and gave us the background of the relationships. Saylor is really self made! She dealt with hurt and pursued the money and it paid off. Brix is too indecisive and JuJu has him by default. JuJu deserves more than a default love for her boys but she’s settling nonetheless. It’s nothing worse than a passive man. Brix needs to man up and get Saylor. Saylor is such a good friend to Kenni. I love their friendship. Kenni and Bridge! Man he turned out to be so doggish. I don’t doubt he loves her but he’s obsessive, controlling, and more concerned about keeping her than loving her. He basically raised and groomed her just to screw her over at every turn. She feels stuck but hopefully she will fly the coop in book 2.
I hate tht Kenni is going though tht i hope she gets the courage to leave before it's too late. Bridge know he's wrong for cheating and putting his hands on her he just don't care but he wants his cake and eat it too. India is so jealous of Kenni tht she don't knw what she's dealing with behind closed doors, but i hope she gets ger krama soon. Now i'm gonna read part 2 to c how Haze fells whn he sees Kenni again will he help her to escape her abusives relationship and get her life back on track
Maurice is not well and Kenni has become accustomed to the abuse I don’t think she knows what she want. That ending though now Haze is the man and he’s going to give Kenni his ass to kiss I’m sure for a little while. Brix pissing me off she’s not pregnant so what’s his excuse now?? He says he loves Saylor so why is he still with JuJu? I need part 2 asap 😜😍.
I can't wait for part two. I hope Kenni doesn't go back to Bridge I can't stand him now and how he treats Kenni. At first I thought he was sweet but, he's nothing but the damn devil. I hope Saylor and Brix get together I really want them together. I guess we can say that Haze is not dead.
I enjoyed this introduction of character. The story is a rollercoaster of emotions. Saylor journey with love felt real. . the cliffhanger was unexpected. Love is blind.
When I first started reading this book I had to keep reminding myself that these girls eye 18 and they were from the hood where it's kinda hard to escape from. However, they both finished high school early but didn't see education as way out. Saylor wanting to be on top in the drug world had me looking at the side ways lol. And i just shook my head at Kenni gold digging ass. But once they got involved with these grown ass men, life started lifing and teaching them lessons. I knew Bridge was too good to be true. It was the way he moved for me and his lil comments on don't do this and don't do that were red flags to me. I mean the dude was 10 years older than her! Anyways, I was rooting for Brix and Saylor but after seeing how he moved when it came to Juleena, i honestly thought Saylor should've cut him off like she did Darren. I understand they had a connection but him choosing ol girl cuz she was safe and he was scared he was gonna hurt Saylor was bullshit. He wanted his cake And eat it to. Fuck what he was saying. Actions speak louder than words. Saylor had her issues but if he was a man he would've helped her work through those! I knew Haze was gonna pop back up. He needed to for Kenni's sake.
Rapid spelling and grammar efforts. The author even referenced the wrong character’s name. This story was too drawn out and would have been more impactful if told in 50% less pages. Kenni’s plot like has been predictable. The author referenced Kenni has smart but clueless is more accurate. With no other ambition other than using her body and beauty, she is the only shocked that she is a collectible. Brix, Mr. Looking at all angles could not untie himself from a non pregnancy. Juju running businesses and gets men who don’t want she wants and thinks she create what she wants (draining). She is too caught up in a competition she had to cheat to win only realize she the body but not the heart. Saylor going backwards.
Domestic violence trauma takes years to heal from, and even longer for someone to fully move forward—especially when that journey requires constant healing, self-love, and rediscovery. My heart goes out to her. I understand too well the pain of control, manipulation, grooming, and the deep self-doubt that stems from a long, abusive marriage. This book is so necessary. It offers a perspective that lets you witness the mental and physical abuse from the outside, yet feel every moment of it. It’s a stark reminder of what so many endure—and another reason I remain thankful for the strength and grace that saved my life.
I don’t know when Kenni is going to wake up . These young girls let material items take over their mind and manhole support and buy material. Items are always in the ones in control if you don’t have a backbone to stand by your self and your own independence.saylior Always been independent. She’s not that naïve like a free Kenni , now The one guy she never wanted because he didn’t have a nice clothes Haze now she sees him she wants him , because he’s doing great himself and he’s in another relationship..ready for part two
It was a good book, just a Lil repetition and stretched out. Great storyline and I had to skip some but I just had to read the whole book. That's how good it was! I was wondering what happened to Haze! I hope Kenni leave Bridge. I can't believe he was this type of Man all along. I also hope Brix wise up am Nd get his girl Saylor! I can't wait to read part 2 and I recommend this book. .
On a positive not I love the story line, I just couldn’t get past the fact that this show to much info most times and that in some other stories like sailors, supreme, and Brix, who seemed more interesting didn’t have much of a story at all. Kenni was entirely to weak of a character for the story to remain about her. Haze and his brother should have been a spin-off. This story can be revisited with spin-offs if enough time gets spent on it.
Okay okay like I flew this series it was a lot going on I knew bridge wasn’t going to be anything special simply the age difference I knew he was going to take advantage of her …. But I did t think it would play out like this … it’s a must read in my eye … I didn’t give it 5 stars just bc it was alittle slow in then it was like Yeahhhh
Still five stars… but this time I was reading like, “Girl… please.”
On my first read, I was locked in, stressed out, and fully invested. On this reread? Whew — the book is still good, the drama is still juicy, but Kenni was working my last nerve. The choices? The delusion? The ambition with no common sense? I was side-eyeing every decision like a frustrated auntie on the couch.
Still entertaining. Still chaotic. Still hood-love drama at its finest. But babyyyy… Kenni was DUMB.
Reread Energy: Loved the story. Had ZERO patience for her.
The things a woman GO through when she in IN LOVE..I just want her to get the strength and leave Trust me I know it's hArd When you LOVE it's hard to let them GO On to Part 2,
It was okay. I feel like this must have been the author’s first novel. The author has a lot of potential though. I will check out other books of theirs but this wasn’t it for me
If it sounds like it’s too good to be true, it likely is! I knew both girls would have a terrible ride from jump because both were never taught to have any kind of self esteem nor self love, to put themselves before a man 🤦🏽♀️
