When Lauren’s job results in her being seriously attacked she wants answers and she knows the one man who can not only help her find the truth but keep her safe as well is her ex-husband Daniel.
When Daniel and Lauren’s relationship ended it wasn’t because they didn’t love one another. When she comes to him looking for help there is no way that he is going to say no but will this be their second chance or are they destined for heartbreak once again?
This story takes you on a wild adventure filled with intrigue, emotion, action and heat as two people who have always belonged together get their second chance.

The story between these two characters is very emotional and very intense. They have a past but neither can seem to move beyond it. When Lauren needs help, Steam does his best to protect her. Can they get past mistakes both made before or will things never work out for them? Get your crying towels out for this one because you will need it. Full of emotion, drama, turns and regrets, this book will keep you turning the pages to find out if Lauren and Steam can make a go of it............again!!

"Secured by the Lawman" (Mountain Force Book 2) by Rhonda Lee Carver is a great read. I loved Daniel 'Steam' and Lauren's story! This is a great addition to the series, packed with action, suspense, lawmen, romance, passion, entertaining characters, second chances, and more. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series. Highly recommend to all fans of romantic suspense, lawmen, and series.

I always know I am going to get a good balance of suspense and hot scenes when I read a Ms. Carver book. For a twist, the stars of this story are a divorced couple. Their paths cross when Lauren is violently attacked. Steam will do anything to protect Lauren and regain her love. 4.25 Stars

This book couldn’t have gotten better if the author had tried! Full of suspense and a physical attraction that just added that something that makes a great book. This twists kept it interesting. Book gifted to me.

Lauren and Steam have a complicated past and present. Even though they have been divorced for many years the attraction never went away. When Lauren starts getting too close to exposing King and his dirty deals she doesn't know who she can trust other than Steam. But before she can inform him she is attacked and almost doesn't make it. Once she's better she knows she will not rest until she gets some answers. Asking Steam is her only choice but that comes with its own problems. When the chips are down Lauren can always depend on Steam to save the day.

Although Steam was an Alpha tough law man, he had a soft protective side. He stayed by Lauren’s side and supported her even when she didn’t know. He was able to admit his shortcomings and try his best to fix them. Lauren and Steam were the perfect compliment to each other. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

A great story and absolutely must read!!!
Holy smokes this book is absolutely packed with suspense and action packed and chemistry and second chance at love and steamy sex scenes and it will blow you away. I absolutely loved it. Rhonda keeps getting better and better with each book.what happens when your ex husband comes back into the picture? Lauren crane is a investigative journalist and has been attacked and left for dead but by some Miracle she is going to make it and when her ex husband Daniel Steam Streets ex navy seal and detective and now on the mountain force special forces agent lawman he has been after a bad man but when his ex is beaten and left for dead can he find out who is responsible before it's to late?
This book will have you hooked from page one until the end and hanging on the edge of your seat.

Second chance romances are one of my favorite types of book to read.
Daniel and Lauren were once married, but things didn’t work out. Not that the love was gone but because Daniel wasn’t home enough, too wrapped up in his job.
As an investigative reporter, Lauren gets handed some information that could put away a big time criminal. She reaches out for Daniel’s help but it all falls through when she’s attacked and in the hospital with a coma. Unbeknownst to her, he quits his job to be by her side until she wakes up and then he steps away.
After 6 months, she’s reaching out for help. This is where they reconnect and the relationship starts building again. Their connection is instantaneous, their love is still there. Trust has to be rebuilt all while dealing with danger.
I love Rhonda Lee Carver’s books. I love Daniel and Lauren’s story. There was laughter, tears, angst, romance, sex, adventure, danger. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen.
Take a chance, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Was a great story. Lauren is an investigative reporter who is working on a story about a drug and traffic cartel. She was given a flash drive before she left the office on the way out she gets attacked in the parking lot and loses the flashdrive. She is brought to the hospital were Steam was at. Steam who is Lauren ex husband works for Mountain Force and he is working with her to bring down whoever attacked her. Suspenseful and well written. Thanks for a great story.

I really liked this book.
I liked the strength that Lauren had. She is a reporter that is attacked because of a possible story that she is working on. Left for dead, she not only comes out alive but she's fighting mad. She has moments of doubt and is scared but for the most part she wants justice. This push/pull of her being badass and vulnerable made her feel human to me.
Steam is Laurens ex-husband. When he finds out she has been hurt, he takes it upon himself to help her. Realizing that her issue and his longstanding quest intersects. The feelings that this case brings up and the closeness of Lauren messes with Steam's head.
The Chemistry that these two had was off the charts. Even when they were arguing, you could feel the love that these two had for each other.

I thought that this was a really wonderful read. Lauren and Daniel were compelling characters that were easy to become invested in. Their painful history, raw emotions and still burning chemistry make sure that this book delivers lots of feels. The story is well written and captures and keeps your attention with a cleverly crafted blend of drama, angst, danger, excitement, action, suspense and romance. I really liked that Lauren such a strong character. She my have been wounded in body and spirt but this woman was a warrior. I also really liked that alpha male and SEAL Daniel also had a softer side that he was willing to show. A excellent read that leaves me eager to explore more books in this series. Of my own accord I am posting a candid review.

You know how some books get you in the first chapter or two? Others may grab you in the first few pages. Well, this particular grab me and pulled me in by the first page of the prologue. I don't know exactly what the pull was but I do know that the pull was strong and kept me engaged throughout the book. I loved Steam from the get go even though I did have a moment where I went - dude, this isn't going to go over well.
Many times as a reader, we are asked what you about the book did you dislike. Honestly, I can't think of anything. I really liked it; it will be on my rereadable list.

Great story I loved the characters and the suspense in this story. I recommend this book if you like romance, suspense and some twists. Rhonda Lee Carver writes great books. Read it to see if there is a HEA.

Lauren and Steam had their chance at an HEA. But do they deserve another shot at love years later when they’ve both experienced so much in life and a dark past has come back in the picture.
I had my suspicions where this book was going to go, and of course, I was surprised and completely blown away in the end.
This book was one I couldn’t put down. It had heat, heart, suspense, and twists and turns throughout that pulled me in and didn’t let me up for air.

ENTERTAINING AND SUSPENSEFUL THRILLER
I have enjoyed reading the two books so far in this series. Stories are intense, full of action and lots of really bad guys. The characters created help to make these stories captivating. Male characters are alpha intense; strong and determined and the female journalist is independent and strong minded. The reader can't help but hope for them to overcome their past and destroy the Cartel.

Once again another great read by RLC! This is a second chance romance that doesn't disappoint! Steam and Lauren were married, but when she realizes he is "married" more to his job than her, she divorces him. Now several years later, she's in trouble and she knows that the only person who can help her is Steam. Will she risk her heart for her life by asking him for help? A great read to find out how Steam and Lauren get their second chance at romance! Wonderful characters and storyline!

I enjoyed this book. It is well written. I loved the characters especially the cat. LOL I am a fan for Rhonda Lee Carver, I know I will get a great story from her every time. This was a quick easy read for me. I encourage everyone to get this one. It has some suspense in it, but I don't do spoilers. You will have to get the book to find out what it is. I think you will enjoy this one.

This is one series filled with action and adventure to keep you turning the pages. Lauren is an investigative journalist who follows a dangerous story. And Steam hears about her injury and decides it is his job to look out for her on this adventure. A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This is only book two but cannot wait for the next one to come out.

Secured by the Lawman is action packed masterpiece. Rhonda Lee Carver has an amazing way of pulling you into her books. This is one of my favorite books. Action and romance this is a definite one click book that you will love.

I really enjoyed Secured by the Lawman. It was suspenseful, the mystery was good, and I loved the second chance romance between Lauren and Steam. I look forward to the next book in the series!
