How unlucky do you have to be to get abducted by aliens. . . twice?

Snatched from Earth to be a bride for a bad-ass race of warriors, Bridget has barely gotten used to her new life on the high-tech Drexian space station when she’s abducted again. This time the aliens are vicious and bloodthirsty, and they have very different plans for the pretty human.

Bridget has no doubt the Drexians will send a rescue party, but she's never been one to play the damsel in distress. And no way is she sticking around to be a part of some creepy alien experiments.

Kax has a mission. Get the tribute bride back safely.

The highly-trained Drexian warrior knows that if anyone can do it, he can. But sneaking into enemy territory and getting Bridget out won’t be the hardest part of his mission. Denying his attraction to her will be the real test.

The Drexian has a secret no one can know. A secret that means he can never take a bride. Can he ignore his heart and give her up to another Drexian?

This standalone action romance novel features steamy scenes on a deserted alien colony, chase scenes on spaceships, deadly aliens hell-bent on invading Earth, and smoking-hot Drexian warriors with extra erogenous zones who are equally determined to protect Earth.

If you like hot alien warriors, spunky Earth women, steamy romance with a happily ever after, and some laughs, you’ll love Seized, the second book in Tana Stone’s sci-fi romance Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors series.

I love sexy aliens and independent heroines. I grew up on Star Trek: Next Generation and Star Wars (and I adore them equally). My favorite superhero is Thor (with Aquaman a close second because, well, Jason Momoa), my favorite dessert is key lime pie (okay, fine, all pie), and I still lament the loss of Firefly.

I live in North Carolina in the US and have one husband, two teenagers, and two neurotic cats. I sometimes wish I could teleport to a holographic space station like the one in my tribute brides series (or maybe vacation at the oasis with the sand planet barbarians). :-) When I'm not writing, I love to paddleboard, dive, travel, and read obsessively!

Seized de Tana Stone Serie Tribute Brides Of The Drexian Warriors libro 2

Deberían causarme miedo no?

Quick(ish) Review

The Good: the story is stronger than the first book, and the romance is more effective. It’s got that “on the run” action giving the story some urgency and I believed in the longing of the hero, Kax, for the heroine Bridget. I also liked that for a book that deals with fertility issues, the person with the issues is the hero, not the heroine. I also liked that there wasn’t a miraculous “fix” at the end. That said...

The Bad: I didn’t love that his personal value was so tied to his ability to procreate. That’s a personal pet peeve, regardless of gender. I also thought the story’s second half dragged out just for the sake of page count more than anything.

The Bottom Line: I liked it better than the first book and while still imperfect, there’s some potential with the overarching storyline. If you like romance focused Sci fi, and you want to try this series, I say skip the first and start here.

I absolutely love reading Tana Stone’s Drexian Warrior series. I just love reading Tana Stone, full stop. Her books are always well written, full on adventure, and each series has a well developed storyline interwoven in each book. One author that I will buy without thinking about it.

This was a solid 3.5 and definitely a step up from the first novel in the series. Bridget and Kay aren't chosen for each other. In fact, Kax is escorting Bridget to meet her intended. Although he is attracted to her, he knows his inability to procreate means his people will never waste an Earth bride on him. But knowing this doesn't prevent the two of them from growing in friendship, attraction, and intimacy.

Read this one and navigate both the world and politics of the Drexian Warriors. Learn more about their enemies and navigate the twists and turns that lead Bridget and Krax to their HEA.

It was pretty good. I liked the action and characters but didn’t like how they were just blindly killing everyone including innocent scientists and other civilians. The main problem was non-communication. Always feels like they don’t work hard enough for it when the only thing to overcome is opening their mouths and telling the truth. So i guess the physical challenges were meant to balance it out. Not sure if I’m into it enough to finish the series, maybe at a later date.

Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌏

🦸🏼‍♀️ Heroine Spotlight: Bridget

Abducted from Earth under a twisted treaty that trades human brides for intergalactic protection, Bridget lands on the Drexian space station known as The Boat. Faced with a stark choice—luxurious bride quarters or a life of labor in the worker wing—she chooses the former, agreeing to marry a Drexian warrior who’s currently off on a mission. But Bridget isn’t just a passive participant in this cosmic matchmaking. She’s observant, decisive, and quietly fierce.

🦸🏻‍♂️ Hero Spotlight: Kax

Kax, brother to station commander Dorn, lives in the shadow of his sibling’s blissful union with his bride Mandy. Kax harbors a secret that disqualifies him from claiming a bride of his own—at least, that’s what he believes. His attraction to Bridget is undeniable, but he’s resigned to distance himself, planning a mission to escape the torment of proximity. His emotional restraint adds layers to his character, making his eventual vulnerability all the more poignant.

🔥 Plot Pulse

When a Kronock warrior infiltrates The Boat and abducts Bridget, Kax doesn’t hesitate. He dives headfirst into enemy territory, risking everything to bring her back—even as it becomes clear the Kronock tech is far more advanced than the Drexians realized. But Bridget isn’t waiting to be saved. She’s already fighting her way to freedom. Their escape is a tense, adrenaline-fueled journey that forces them to confront danger, desire, and the truth about what they mean to each other.

❤️‍🔥 What Hit Home

• The chemistry between Bridget and Kax simmers beneath every moment of their escape. Their connection feels earned, not forced—especially given the emotional stakes.
• Bridget’s agency is a highlight. She’s not a damsel; she’s a survivor. Her grit and clarity make her a heroine worth rooting for.
• The fantasy suites? Total escapist gold. Windows that simulate the Swiss Alps or South Pacific? Yes, please. I’d trade my view for ocean waves in a heartbeat.

🤨 Room to Grow

• Kax’s reluctance to share his secret dragged a bit too long. It wasn’t shame-worthy, and the delay felt more like plot padding than emotional realism. A sooner reveal could’ve deepened their bond earlier.

🎧 Narration Vibes

Jodie Bentley delivers a sultry, smooth solo performance, capturing Bridget’s strength and Kax’s restraint with finesse. Her male voices are serviceable, though I still prefer duet narration for dual POVs—it adds emotional texture and realism. That said, Tana Stone’s alien romance universe is consistently compelling, and the box sets are a treat for binge listeners.

📝 Final Thoughts

A fast-paced, emotionally charged alien romance with a heroine who refuses to be sidelined and a hero who learns that vulnerability isn’t weakness. Bridget and Kax’s story blends action, attraction, and agency in a way that’s both satisfying and escapist. Drexian brides may be traded, but Bridget proves she’s never for sale.

Ugh, finally… I have found the series that started it all. I started reading Tana Stone’s work with one of her spin-offs. She is a talented author and I was fortunate to stumble across her.

Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors is based on the large muscled humanoid aliens with tan skin who’ve spent their lives battling the enemy aliens called the Kronock. There had been a secret treaty with Earth for the past 30 years where the Drexians have been granted permission to abduct human females in exchange for protection against the Kronock. The only conditions are that the females be unattached (with no one to shed light on their disappearance) and that the Drexians keep the secrecy of alien existence. The tribute brides are taken to a space station behind Saturn called “The Loveboat” where they are mated (married) to their Drexian warriors. The war with the Kronock is still ongoing.

Written in third person perspective, Seized is book 2 in this series, and follows Drexian High Commander Kax and his human mate Bridget. Kax is the brother to Commander Dorn, who we met in the previous book. He is ineligible to take a bride because he was exposed to radiation during his last mission as a Drexian spy which lost him his ability to father children. His brother Dorn is their family’s only hope of continuing their bloodline. Bridget is an ex professional ballerina who was abducted as a tribute bride (we met her at the same time as Mandy in the last book) and betrothed to a Drexian warrior we have yet to meet. Bridget was kidnapped by a Kronock during Dorn and Mandy’s wedding and Kax volunteers to rescue her. He succeeded, but their spacecraft broke down on a Kronock outpost. There’s a lot of adventure on this outpost filled with enemy discoveries and saving each other’s lives while they fall in love and submit to their urges. Kax received word that Bridget’s betrothed died in battle after she was kidnapped. He accidentally told her that fact in his sleep. Eventually, Dorn rescued them from being stranded at the outpost and returned the two to the boat, where Bridget’s new fiancé was waiting for her to be rescued. There’s a lot of drama based on lack of communication, but they eventually get back together and live happily ever after.

I liked the two main characters MUCH better than the last book, but I was still annoyed with one of them. Last book had me loathing Mandy because of her spoiled attitude and temper tantrums. I loved Bridget’s character in this book. Even though she didn’t trust people enough to love, she allowed her heart to open for Kax. This book had me loathing Kax because of his lack of conviction. He tells her “I will never leave you,” only to leave her the second they get rescued. She was up front and honest with her feelings for him and he was like “oh, she has a new fiancé and he’s here already? Okay, cool. He can have her.” As far as I’m concerned, Bridget should NOT have forgave and taken Kax back so easily. She basically did all the work in their relationship while he sat back and wallowed in self pity. All she wanted was for someone to want her enough to fight for her, and I don’t think she was asking too much.

I wish I could say that the sex scenes were smoking hot and the intensity leading up to it was worth the wait. Unfortunately, I was overwhelmingly stuck on disliking Kax’s back-and-forth to get any satisfaction in the romance. I just wanted the man to grow some balls and fight for her. He never did. Even when he finally came to her, it was after she was packing to move in with the reject brides.

I might need therapy, but that’s what books are for, right? Lol

I will continue the series since I do enjoy Tana Stone’s writing. They can’t all be like Mandy and Kax. ;p

Bridget was a ballerina for the Miami City Ballet Company until she was dropped so now she has nothing until a very tall man asked if she wanted to be on a game show Bridget agreed after all she needed the money but she quickly realised that it wasn’t a game show she was competing on she was being prepped to become a tribute as a Drexian bride. Bridget could of said no and gone with the other women who rejected being a tribute even if you did you couldn’t go back to earth and now it’s been 7 days since Bridget was abducted from earth and she is waiting for her Drexian warrior. Kax wants a female to be precise he wants Bridget but he can’t have children so she’s been promised to another warrior now he finds her gone, his commander tells Kax that a Kronock came aboard the ship and stole the tribute bride Bridget seemingly that’s all the Kronock wanted then he left. Kax is determined to get Bridget back and it looks like it’s going to be a solo mission. Fantastic story I loved it and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

3.5⭐️

This second book in the “Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors” series seems to have more oomph to it. Aside from the typical alien abduction fare, there is much more drama and more precarious, fear-inducing situations that surround Kax, Drexian High Command and Bridget, a light-skinned African-American woman who is among the abducted women from Book One.

There are several exciting battle scenes, and the story infuses foreboding and terror at the imminent threat of capture and death at the hands of the Kronock. Sex between the couple still plays a pivotal role in this story. However, I will say that in certain instances, “less is more.”

This was an exhilarating read that follows the abduction of Bridget by the evil Kronock, her ultimate rescue by Kax and their fight to survive until help arrives. Many of the secondary characters and other quirky alien species from Book One appear in this book. All in all, it’s a terrific read.

I actually quite liked this book. It is the first I read in this series and of this author. No, it is not really original and I wish it was more romantic, but it is written well and easy to read.

The love is too-insta for me (we are talking days here), I hoped the couple had more time to adjust to each other. Don’t forget these women also have to adjust to a totally different life on a strange planet. I think it would make the stories stronger.

But overall very enjoyable. Liked both MC’s!

This was my first by the author, and I really loved it. She managed to keep my interest while not letting the book get bogged down and drag on. It stood out from so many other scifi romances.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

*3.5* I didn't like this as much as the first book. I hate "breakdowns in communication" tropes. I hate them even more when they don't resolve very quickly. I wish the author didn't use that in this. The story was really good up until that point. I still recommend this.

I didn’t even know Bridget was a POC until I read it in some reviews. She’s barely described, hell, Kax or Karsh are barely described either. I got tired of her attitude, she thought of herself as some irresistible goddess and was super annoyed that Kax didn’t pay attention to her. She was constantly thinking about how all men looked at her and wanted her, but not Kax. And despite Kax’s constant rejections she keeps flirting, coming onto him, touching him, and being upset when he flinches. If she was a guy, people would be calling him a creep, or a “nice guy”, and telling women to run from him. But she’s a girl, so, double standards. She gropes and ogles him while he’s unconscious, but she’s a woman, so it’s OK (not).
As for the plot, everyone is quite stupid. The Drexians would have to be idiots if nobody noticed an enemy, who didn’t even bother to avoid cameras, walking around the station to kidnap this woman, and then leaving with his unconscious victim. Why her? I guess it was because she’s so irresistible everyone wants her. The Kronox had to be very stupid, as well, since Kax manages to slip through their defenses not once, but twice, and in the exact same way. Not to mention Drexonians seem to be able to come and go through their “controlled” chunk of space without them even knowing. Bridget seemed to have some common sense until she doesn’t because… plot. Literally, she makes the stupidest of stupid decisions ever just to advance the plot, when up until that point she had demonstrated to be the most intelligent character of all. Guess she had to be lowered to everyone’s level.
The characters weren’t endearing. Bridget was a creep, and behaved like a sexual predator for the first half of the book, then, when they had sex, she’s so “I’m not gonna force him to be with me, I guess I didn’t mean as much to him”. Bitch! He was avoiding you until you literally threw yourself at him! Naked, I might add. He wasn’t any better, though, with his martyr attitude, and the absolute lack of communication. Freaking Mandy manages to make things about her when she’s on page, like, Bridget’s problems aren’t that important, she might be the cause someone might go to jail! It wasn’t even her fault, it was the Drexians’, but, hey, she had to make it about herself. I don’t like Serge, I hated Karsh, Trista is just there, Dorn is an ass, and the villain (who also had a name that started with K, very similar to Kax, it was difficult to remember who was who) was evil just because, and wanted Bridget just because. Reina might be the only redeemable character in this whole series. Also, Karsh faces zero consequences for his behavior.
I got this for free in a boxed set with the first three in the series, but I don’t think I will read the next one. The MC seems just as annoying as Kax.

Lascio a voi scoprire come!

4 1/2 stars!

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, adult intimate scenes and violence.

This PNR can be read as a stand-alone, although I highly recommend it be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers.

The 2nd story in the series has a few more grammatical errors that the 1st, but I was still able to easily interpret the author’s intent.

This story contains elements of consensual / non-consensual acts, dominant personality traits, and violence including abduction, kidnapping, fighting, assault and death. If any of these acts are not something enjoyed, then please do not purchase and then rate it lower than it deserves.

If you have not read the first story in this series, then there will be spoilers ahead. Please do not read beyond this point to avoid.

Bridget is another Tribute for the Drexian Warriors and the new best friend of Mandy (story #1j. She has been matched with a warrior from one of the outlying frontiers where they are protecting others. So she goes with Mandy and they board (sneak) onto a battleship so Mandy could be with her mate and not stuck on the Love Boat or shuttle.

Bridget doesn’t believe in love or fate, but she is attracted to Kax, even if he won’t give her the time of day, or so she thinks. She is not interested in anyone but Kax, unfortunately she caught the “eye” of one of their enemies’ leaders, Commander Krav, which leads Bridget to being kidnapped.

Kax is a former military intelligence officer, and based upon an injury from his last field mission years ago, not a potential mate for any of the Tributes. Therefore, he is the best choice to go after Bridget. Especially as he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

I don’t want to accidentally provide any spoilers so I am going to stop here.

This is the second book of the Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors series and is a perfect follow up to the first book. Our protagonist, Kax, is Dorn’s older brother - Dorn was showcased in the first book. While he feels the weight of family responsibility to carry on the family dynasty, there’s nothing he can do about it since he was exposed to high levels of radiation on one of his last missions, rendering him all but sterile. Since their race is threatening to die out, as there have been no females born in a generation, the sole purpose of the tribute brides is to repopulate their species. So there’s no way a tribute bride is in his future. The high command won’t “waste” a bride on a Drexian that cannot bear children. But Bridget has other ideas. She has fallen in love with him, and she will have no other.

I loved this book. While it wasn’t as dark as some other books I’ve read, and didn’t “shred” my heart, there were some touching and sad moments. Kax knows he wants Bridget more than anything, but keeps telling himself, “She is not for you.” My heart did kinda hurt for him every time he said that, why shouldn’t he deserve happiness too? Bridget is a kick-ass heroine, and I loved how strong and pragmatic she was. And this ballerina got her kicks in when she was abducted by the Kronocks too.

I do recommend this book, and the series so far. It’s a quick, enjoyable read. I know I’m only 2 books in, but it does seems that you will need to read the books in order. Not only to follow the overarching storyline, but there is a lot of overlap with the characters between the two books I have read so far. Don’t know if this will carry on with the rest of the books, but I assume so.

Bridget and Kax

This is the first book that I've read in the series and I have to say it was pretty good. I don't feel lost not having read the first book and I liked it well enough to go back and read Mandy and Dorns story at another time. The Drexian warriors have co e to Earth to find suitable brides. They females of their species are all but gone and they wish to save their race from dying out. They make a deal with many of Earth's governments protection from the Kronock a pieced together race bent on destroying and absorbing any and all races that get in their
way for suitable brides that can help them keep their race from dying out. Bridget is one of those brides. She was a dancer on Earth, but her life was hard. Her childhood was difficult and her earliest lesson was that people leave you even if they don't want too. She was ready to mate any warrior because she vowed never to love them. Kax is a Drexian warrior, who was once a spy and now sits on the high council of the Drexian government. He wants what he believes he can not have a loving mate and family, because on a mission several years ago he was hurt and told he may not be able to father children. This however does not stop him from desiring Bridget. Bridget is kidnapped by the Kronock as her best friends wedding and is about I become a science experiment, when Kax finds her. She fights along side him and shows I adjust how amazing she is. They must make it through some very dangerous situations as well as many misunderstandings before They both find a love neither believed they would ever have. Enjoyable read. 💖

Seized (Tribute Bride of the Drexian Warriors # 2) by Tana Stone is the second book in this series I give it all 5 stars and can't wait to read the next book. This is Bridget and Kax's story of kidnap, escape and convincing Kax that he can have a bride.

Where can you get kidnapped twice, become a tribute bride for a space alien, escape from the bad guys using your wily skills honed as a ballet dancer, reject the second guy who chose you but not the other way around and still get the guy for a happily ever after on a holodeck Swiss Chalet? You get all of that and more in Seized.

Bridget is one of the Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors she's a former ballet dancer and one of 7 women taken as brides for the Drexian men, Yes, Earth said it was okay after all they are protecting us from the bad guys. When she meets Kax she's guarding the door of her BFF while they finishing the wedding/mating ritual but she doesn't know he can't get married or take a bride. But he'll do anything to find and get her back because the Kornock want her because they plan on attacking Earth.

Yes the book did have two previews at the end for the next book and the authors new series but for our current situation of COVID-19 it was a great escape story to forget everything for a few hours.

Bridget was snatched from Earth to be a tribute bride for the Drexian Warriors only to be abducted from their high-tech space station by another race of vicious and bloodthirsty aliens but they have slightly different plans for her. She has no doubt that the Drexians will send out a rescue party for her, but she is not keen on playing a damsel in distress. Drexian Kax has a mission to get Bridget back safely and as a highly-trained warrior, he knows that if anyone can do it then he certainly can. The hardest part of the whole mission is to deny his own attraction to her. He has a secret and it means he can never take a bride - can he ignore his heart and give her up to another?

I enjoyed this story with the denied attraction, the determination to only do the right thing, the drama and danger from various sides of the races and Bridgets determination to only have what she wants and deserves. I was so thankful when Kax finally took his head out of the sand and decided to do the right thing for himself. A good read that was easy to feel and empathise with all of their thoughts and emotions. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Good

Kax and Bridget

Bridget has resigned herself to being a tribute bride, after all, she doesn’t believe in love. When she is kidnapped for a second time, she finds herself in the hands of the Kronock, enemies of the the Drexians and of Earth.
Krax is a former intelligence operative. Ineligible for the bride program, he volunteers to go after Bridget and rescue her.
And that’s when everything goes a little pear-shaped…

This book features the brother of the hero from book one, and picks up where book one left off. Although it features a completely different couple, it is best read in series order, since there is also an ongoing background story working at the same time.

This has all the fun you expect from sci-fi romance: a kidnapped heroine (actually twice kidnapped), an alien hero; and of course the bad guys!
It’s a fairly quick read, with lots of space action, and an overarching background story that will keep you wondering.
An entertaining read for the sci-fi romance fan.

Awesome and hilarious alien/human mail order tribute bride

What would you do if you were abducted by aliens? One moment they had to on game show like the Dating Game and the next you were on the Love Boat space station as a tribute bride. The government gave you to aliens in exchange for protection from some really nasty insect-like alien who want to destroy earth.

Bridget was abducted and was expected to mate with an chosen for her. However, she really likes Kax, who not even in the running because of supposedly infertility issues. She gets kidnapped again by the Kronock. Will Kax be able to rescue her in time?

The unique characters are funny, sexy, and intriguing. This emotion, action packed drama has twist as a cliffhanger. I like this book because of the unique descriptive aliens and scenario combined with 70's and 80's game show themes. Highly recommended for entertaining and some chuckles.

This was my first Tana Stone's book, and won't be my last. This is the second book of the Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors Series, an interconnected standalone Sci-Fi action romance, with crossover characters. Bridget and Kax's story is fast-paced, fun, suspenseful, and steamy. The world building is well done and intriguing. I love the ending. The Epilogue gives us a glimpse of what's to come. Jodie Bentley has a beautiful voice, easy to understand. She also has a great range of voices, and the characters were easy to distinguish. She did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to the first installment in the Series, Tamed (Mandy and Dorn's story), and the next installment Exposed (Katie and Zayn's story). I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
