“A Lady to Redeem a Rakish Lord” is a Steamy Historical Regency Romance Novel of about 80.000 words with No cheating, No Cliffhanger, & a Guaranteed Happily Ever After.
I have grown up and now live in Concord, New Hampshire. I have studied and worked as a librarian and my meticulous research in History inspired an everlasting love for Historical Romance. I discovered Bronte Sisters at my early teens and I have been fond of heroines like Jane Eyre, ever since. I finally got the guts to participate on a writing contest on 2017. From right then I decided that plotting romances with rakish men and smart, feisty women, was an excitement I couldn’t stay away from. Except the times I am chasing down my two young boys. Other than writing, I delight in watching theatrical plays, reading mystery novels and my latest discovery is cake decoration, something that I owe to my sons and my weakness for sweets.
This has great potential but there is room for improvement. Two friends in love with the same woman. One of the men was a sneaky two-faced liar, betrayer and is an emotional maniac. The storyline, the characters and the plot were average. It did not impress me not did it make me regret reading it. In its own way there was sexual tension, suspense and danger. One important thing was that when it counted help came right on time from many different sources.
The story is nice and all but the book needs some major re-editing and cleaning. I’m not sure if it’s only my copy but there are glaring page mistakes (a lot of pages with nothing but if you scroll forward, the words do start). The story itself...it was okay. I just didn’t connect with the characters like I usually do.

What a glorious read this was!! Perfect for the Christmas time with it's wonderful well written story and plot line. The characters were so well fleshed out and believeable. This one is filled with suspicion, a bit of action, intrigue, the love/hate angle and more. Such a very good read and can't wait to read more from this author.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
The storyline is great; the characters are fleshed out; the plot has all the desirable twists and turns. There is a rather strange weakness and inability on both the part of Ophelia and her Lord to make decisions without involving far too many other people. Christopher is ridiculously inept at discerning the character of people he takes into his confidence. Ophelia's mother is the same, as she encourages every man within hailing distance to marry her daughter. Even with all these bumbling characters, the book was very well planned. My biggest problem was the difficulty in reading it with all the mistakes a proofreader should have caught and didn't. Those are the reasons this book only got three stars. If it had been cleaned up as this author's work deserves, I would have posted a five star review. It really has great potential to be a great goodread.
Lady to Redeem a Rakish Earl is one of those stores that you have a difficult time putting down! With a magnificent cast of characters and a plot that brings this read together perfectly. When a mysterious admirer and deceit spins one tangled up web full of twist and turns that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat! Christopher spends his free time in gambling hells and enjoys the life of a rake until he bumps into Ophelia at a Christmas Fair. It's love at first sight or so they think! But Benjamin, Christopher's friend has other plans for the couple. It's a romance with uncertainty, threats, deception, drama, and suspense, insecurities, and fear of rejection. Lucinda Nelson has created a story that grabs you the first few pages and then you can't put the book down until the end.
it is difficult to believe that a publisher would consent to this novel being published in the manner in which it has been presented. There are so many grammatical and spelling errors that it appears to have been written by someone who speaks English as Second Language. Surely it hasn't been edited. It can't have been. The story / plot drones on and on with many superfluous and useless details that add nothing to the interest of the reader. I am an addicted readaholic but had to put this story aside 5 times before eventually finishing it. Perhaps the story was written by a collaboration between several people,- none of whom could write or speak English very well, and, had little creative writing ability.

This is a very good story about love and a young woman that her family wants her to marry for financial gain but Ophelia and Christopher are in love and this story has twists.Ophelia is kidnapped and held hostage by the deranged man that does not love her but wants to possess her.Secrets are revealed and happiness is obtained. This is a very good plot and the characters are realistic I enjoy this author 's stories
Wonderful read. Love this author. He has friends who have ruined his reputation. He hasn't helped it any and now has to find a way to fix what is broken so he can have the woman he desperately wants. Before she is with another man as she needs someone for the money and companionship. Can he do it? Is it possible in so little time? Read and see. It is exciting, suspenseful, intriguing and so much more. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
This is a charming romance between a Lord and a Lady as they find love during the cold holiday season.
She is forced to marry in order to save her family while he needs to rise above his shameful past. The two unexpectedly meet as they end up failing for each other.
You will become a champion of them as they per sue the world of love together.
What might have been a charming romance became an almighty trial to read due to spelling errors, incomplete sentences, and convoluted dialogue. The basic premise is good but I just couldn't get past the apparently non-existent editing. I don't like to criticize an author but a quick go by with another editor would be suggested.
Very exciting with plenty of intrigue, secrets and danger. A thrilling story that was totally engrossing. There were a few blank pages in my copy before the words start however.
Actually this is a Romantic story..but how the plot were running felt like i have to jump from one place to other place. And its a bit annoying. Just for my curiousity i jump also to finished this book.
I liked the story but think it went a little too long with Christopher and Ophelia both in The dark about Jonathon. Would have liked to see stronger character of either one. Nicely written and will continue to follow author.
This book was about a young lady and her suitors. I only gave it a three because of the errors in the book. The story itself was okay and Ophelia is quite opened for a regency lady. The book needs more editing.

Benjamin is a very interesting character. Even though he is the villain of this story., without his imput it would have been boring beyond words. I would like to hear more about Christopher's sister her marriage seemed so alarming.
Good storyline but ruined by a multitude of spelling mistakes as well as correct words missed out. Translator or proof reader have not carried out their job and made sense of some of the sentences.
The story was good but there were lots of errors. That takes it down a star. I can't stand poor editing (or writing). If there isn't proper time for writing or reviewing, then don't publish yet.
No proofreading, spelling all wrong, language modern American, never again, total waste of money. Disappointed totally. Could have been a good story, shame!!
This is a fascinating plot. The evil one hides it so well that I didn't see.that coming! All the characters are amazing and the story unfolds peefectly
