I love Michael McIntyre, but this was just an audiobook that was the sound from the DVD. A lot of the comedy is in the actions in this case. I’m not sure an audiobook version is really necessary. Personally, I will just watch the DVD in future.
This is the live version of the Happy and Glorious final show at the O2 arena. I've always loved Michael McIntyre. He's no longer my favourite comedian so I missed watching this on DVD. I did really enjoy this BUT I don't think it translates as well as the DVD. He mentions his calves, his walk and the Waitrose trolleys but I think it'd have been funnier if I'd have seen it.
Jokes were good and funny. Bit confused why they made this into an audiobook though? He has mannerisms and was obviously doing things visually so some of the jokes don’t quite hit the same. They should have included parts where they described what he was doing on stage. Good jokes all the same though but doesn’t have the same impact.
Overall enjoyable but some comedic value lost as some of the jokes could only be completely understood by the visual performance whereas this is only the audio recording.
