A lightweight introduction to introverts and extroverts. As someone who has already read extensively on introversion, I found this book far Too light on science, with, inadequate references. Did not answer my questions about brain function. For the experienced reader for a more thorough dive Instead I recommend starting with Quiet by Susan Cain.
I was going to put it 3 stars, but at least is not boring and it's easy to read. Why 4 and not 5? It lacks depth. I'm into pop science, but this reads like an essay for school...
You flip through pages in order to find a new information or idea, but it happens rarely. It was too abroad of subjects and I know organized I may call it cut precious
This book was confused as to what it wanted to be. it started as an attempt to break stereotypes of what an introvert is and that intrversion is a spectrum of traits.
Then suddenly it retreats back to the stereotypes it deprecated and fave tips to "cure" you of these traits.
A few interesting studies in an otherwise bland read.
This book was full of repetition, poorly written, and badly organized. I’m so glad it’s over. The worst thing was that the author says to accept who you are, but includes a chapter on how to change from an introvert to an extrovert. Rubbish!
I love learning about the brain. Although written with surface, layman explanations, this book was very readable and effectively explains the basics of introversion, extroversion, and as the title suggests, everything in between.
I have this book 4 stars because at first the ideas seemed too disjointed and random. The author seems, at the beginning, to talk more about extroverts. As you get more further into the book things become more clear as to the author's intentions. You can't describe one without comparing to the other. The part of the book that I found most helpful was the last chapter. In this chapter, the author gives tips for how an introvert can have more social interactions without draining their 'social battery'.
If you think you might be an introvert, read this book! It will make you feel more comfortable with yourself, and it's based on solid scientific research.
