"I don't like your manners," she sniffed.

"And I'm not crazy about yours," he retorted.

(So they were apparently Boogie and Bacall now, and maybe she could blame the alcohol in the morning, like all the good girls did.)

This was the first completed fic by Diasterisms that I read. I liked it, but I must say, there's two different levels to my review.

The first is reviewing this as a fanfiction. Now, I'm not overly into things like AUs that stray so far from the canon universe--after all, why not just make it an original book then? I feel like this is somewhat in that category; sure, the names are Star Wars and the archetypes are broadly there, but this is far from the universe of lightsabers and the Force. So as a fanfic, this is eh for me.

But, second, there's considering this as a *story*. And as a story, I believe this works VERY well. It's a tale of old and new Hollywood, of grappling with fame and consequences, of dealing with family legacy--and it does that all in a gripping fashion that had me finish it basically in one sitting. Adding greatly to this is the fact that the author CLEARLY knows her Old Hollywood stuff; I LOVED all the references!

So, if you want a nice romance about Hollywood old and new, READ THIS. Even if you don't like Star Wars you'll like it; as I said, it is basically completely disconnected from Star Wars so you can more or less ignore it.

Excellent Diasterisms work, set in this universe, with a contemporary timeline.
Anakin was a seventies movie star and has a grandson, Ben Solo, that is meeting Rey in a decaying Hollywood...
Diasterisms weeeeeell researched this universe, it's full of life while still .... in a state of severe disrepair...
Great work!
