Esme is hiding away at the castle, still trying to find a cure for her vampirism. She stays at the castle because her hunger for blood is no stop. She decides to hang out on the beach with Beachbum. After being there for awhile and not liking where the the conversation is going, she decides to go home. On the way, Captain Villian makes her follow him. She runs into Pearl, she knows Pearl is lying about why she is out at that time of night.
She makes her way to the castle, she falls over a dead body. She calls Allegra to come down. They make a bad decision and both decide to look into this. They want to make sure that Pearl is not involved.

That is just the being of what happens with Esme as she tries to find out who killed the man and why. She will have a few run ins with Chris Constantine. She is still trying to figure out what he is as well, there are some really good twist and turns in this book. So many good moments as well. You will truly enjoy the story and I am looking forward to more in this series. I love the characters in this series.

I received an ARC copy of this book from Booksprout and this is my honest review

A man stood on a cliff, gazing at the beauty in Brimstone Bay, the only entirely magical town in England. He wanted to put things right. He wanted to be a wizard again. So he was meeting with someone to confront his past and make things right. But he felt a noose drop onto his neck and he couldn’t breathe. Now no one would know the truth.

Esme Westbrim -- half-witch, half-vampire and struggling with her bloodlust -- finds yet another body on her property and the police are looking at members of her family as possible suspects. Moving the body to avoid an investigation that would lead to the illegal fact that Esme was a vampire-witch was not the best way to start her own investigation into solving this strange crime, but the twists and turns along the way will keep the reader enjoying this wonderful story from start to finish. With the help of family and her familiar, Captain Villain, will she find the answers to clear her family’s name and expose the murderer?

The reunion does more than just reunite

Awesome. A great plot that has nice subplots and nuances hidden within it. The main plot however is the murder of a man. A man who was a crowd pleaser at school and who had been vilified as a murderer. Now he is dead, his wand is missing as is any ID.
Worse the body has been left outside the family home and would lead to awkward questions. Plus her hunger for blood is growing.
Can she and her cousin work behind the scenes and find out who the killer is? Proof? Then there is the fact that someone is taunting her with blood, kidnapping and getting her arrested.
Will her new "beau" believe her and let her prove her theory?
Nicely paced, but still not actually answering what a vampire witch is or how powerful she is. Nor has the mastermind behind her kidnapping been answered.

Our heroine is half witch, half vampire and all trouble. And when she stumbles on a dead body, she knows that the trouble has come home again.

This is book two of the series, but it works just fine as a standalone. Everything you need to know will be apparent at the beginning of the story.

This is a cozy witch mystery. The story is well written, easy to read and fun, with an amazing bit of humor worked in. Just the names of the characters are enough to give me a chuckle. The characters are well developed and distinct, whether they be good or bad. I also found the mystery to be well done with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Overall, it was a very fun read and I look forward to many more.

Highly recommended.

Esme is coming home from hanging out with the dude when she trips over another dead body and instead of calling the police she calls Allegra and they move the body away from her home and into the beach for someone else to find because she believes that her uncle ghastly's fiancee might have killed the gentleman because she saw her before she found the body. Now she is lying to the hottie Chris roughety toughety the police man that she likes but she wants to help to find the killer but she might find something else that she wasn't looking for. Another great story with entertaining characters. I can't wait to read the next one.

I don't know where the author gets these ideas for the books, but keep them coming, PLEASE!!!

Wands Upon A Time In Brimstone Bay is the second book in the Witches Of Brimstone Bay series and is a fun and fabulous read.

The characters are quirky, mystical, and magical. The storyline is well written and kept me turning the pages to assure myself that no one is Esme's family had anything to do with this murder. But there are no guarantees in life or in these books. With a psychic cat, a fairy-tale ball, magically marvellous cupcakes, a wild witch cousin, and a hot cop, you don't want to miss this book.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Esme finds another body on her property and it is related to a 20 year old death of a local girl. The police are looking at members of her family as suspects. After moving the body, Esme decides to solve the murder. She accidentally destroys evidence, gets arrested and more. On top of investigating Esme is fighting the bloodlust of being half vampire. Good thing her witchy powers and the concoctions the family make for her are keeping her from going crazy and doing something she really doesn't want to do.

Brimstone Bay is a magical place, and by that I mean everyone there is some kind of paranormal. Oh there are a few regular people, they are called humbles. As a humble, I enjoy reading about the magical shenanigans of Brimstone Bay. The mystery in this story will continue into further books, at least I hope it will. There is so much to like about the world building and the characters. You will immediately like Esme, she has so much potential and is strong enough to weave her way through the clues and find the murders. Truly loved the banter between Allegra and Esme, they are cousins by blood and sisters by heart.

This is book 2 of the Witches Of Brimstone Bay series. Each book can be read as a stand alone, however this book does reference things and people from the previous book so it will be easier to read if you have read book one. I really enjoyed this book. It could use a bit of tightening up, some bits seemed to drag on a bit, but all in all, it was a good read.

Good story line concept and entertaining characters. Written as a 1st person, single pov.

Would I recommend this book? Yes

Would I read more from this author? Yes

I absolutely loved this book!
Esme is so likable, and her whole family is easy to fall for.. Especially her Grandmother. Nothing says family like a strong Granny hahaha.
Moving a body is probably a bad idea when you look at the big picture, but why let fear and common sense get in the way of things.
I had so much fun reading this book, and couldn't put it down. Between her snarky attitude, and her familiar Captain Villain it was just too much fun reading to put the book down and get some sleep.
Well worth the read and the 5 stars.

There is a murder and it all seems connected to the Magicwild Academy reunion and an event 20 years earlier. Plus Esme is going through blood hunger and doing her best to fight it off while looking to cure her vampirism. If anyone finds out she could be executed!
This is a great story. It gives a lesson that not everyone is who you really think they are. I love how Esme is starting to try magic a little. Allegra is her biggest cheerleader and BFF. Everyone should be so lucky to have someone like her.

Esme has an abrupt end to a marriage that had barely started. Too bad she hasn’t yet been legally divorced. Nothing says game over as much as finding your newlywed husband with your until now best friend

Back in Brimstone Bay, she faces another murder with complications. A sweet beachside locale with some seriously whacked out and lethal residents

The current body leads to a long ago death and some current plots to discredit Esme and her family - and out her vampire virus affliction

Wicked ironic, funny and exciting

Solving crime one fairy tale at a time is what the witches of Brimstone Bay is all about. This is the second novel in the series and I read it as a stand alone without any problems at all.It kept me spellbound from page one to the very last word! The tension and relationships are beautifully written and will keep readers coming back for more.. I gave this honest, voluntary review after being given a free copy of the novel.

Well poor Esme is in for it again. Coming home from the beach she finds a body. Freaked out she calls her cousin Allegra to help her move it. Then she tries to solve it feeling guilty. Joey Alami had his life ruined in school 20yrs prior and came back to town to prove his innocence and get the girl. Plus Oberon tells Esme someone is targeting her with blood. And theres a kidnapping. Such a good story!

Im loving Esme/Chris. Kinda hope Jasper and Allegra get together too!

I enjoyed this book, but I had not read the first in the series before reading this the second in the series, I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had. As it was, it was a good read and made me want to go read the first one, so here I go. Received an ARC from the author, but this is my honest opinion.

Careful what you witch for

Esme, the witch/vampire, is smelling blood everywhere. It seems her bloodlust is growing and she is hungry all the time. There is a high school reunion coming to town. Esme hasn't seen her Special Agent, for many weeks now. Late at night she runs into Pearl on the beach. A half hour later, Esme trips over a dead body. Read and enjoy!

A lot of fun

This series is definitely not your typical witch paranormal cozy mystery. I love how Esme has the magic hair but is not the gifted one of the family or so she believes. The author does such a good job of putting you into their world, it feels like you belong. Allegra is the best friend, family member you could ask for. I loved every word!

Jealousy is bad as well as murder and keeping secrets. Honesty is the best policy as the saying goes. I loved this book and I feel that we get more sides of Esme and Chris (especially Chris). It seems like he's a big softy underneath that tough extrior and Esme brings that out of him through-out the story. Hopefully their chemistry grows between them and it grows into a romantic relationship.

A Good Witch Tale

Apart from giving the first book a five star rating, I didn't give it a written review mainly because I didn't finish it till 4 a.m. but after reading this next instalment book I'm thoroughly enjoying the characters and the storylines and would definitely recommend them to all.

Cute, Charming read for an afternoon

This was an enjoyable read with enough twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. A charming take on witches, hexes, fairytale endings and what could possibly go wrong?!

This book ends with a lead into the next installment. Enough spice to keep the reader entertained, and frustrated. A slowburn romance.

I hate leaving a series unread but this one may be a DNF. Lack of editing, repetitive phrasing between books, mediocre character development (characters randomly being friends after no development of previously tense interactions). interesting concept and not a bad mystery but under-edited and underdeveloped in my opinion

I find the pacing a little slow, but perhaps in these miserable days (2o20, the year that just won't end), I am more than usual looking for instant gratification. The plots roll well. There is a fare amount of unique aspects. Not just another paranormal cozy.

Lots of imagination

This series is full of creative characters and situations. I like that the book has a moral to the story. I hope Esme gets her happily ever after because she's a character I've grown to root for.
