THE FIRST SIGNS that I might like writing -- and that I might be slightly competitive -- appeared when my year two (or first grade) teacher, Mrs. Holland, asked my class to write and illustrate our day. Mine read like this: “The Red team beat the Blue team, 1 to nil. And I won.” The next 47 entries covered my exploits on the soccer pitch while growing up in Ipswich, England.
In South Carolina as a teenager, my dad told me that I could get paid to watch sports provided I could write about it. Sounded easy enough and by the time I was 16, I landed a job at my town’s daily newspaper and had a column on Major League Baseball players from our area. I also covered my first riot there at a sporting event -- and it’s safe to say I was smitten with journalism.
After graduating from one of the best journalism schools in the country, I took a job as a sports editor in South Georgia and learned firsthand about the passion of high school sports in rural America. I thought I knew before, but I didn’t. This was another world.
I also had the opportunity to cover major sporting events like the Olympic Games, the World Series, the Super Bowl, and the Final Four. It was a thrill!
But nothing was as thrilling to me as uncovering the truth in investigative assignments. I once broke a story about a prominent southern football team’s NCAA violation -- and found out the violating coach had committed suicide only a few months earlier. The story won a national writing award and stoked my desire to write about these issues. It made me realize that the sports world was just another fantastic backdrop for drama.
After writing non-fiction books with athletes, for athletes, and ghost writing for many others, I decided to enter the world of fiction writing. It had been something I wanted to do but never found the time. So, I made the time--and had a blast in the process.
I’m not out to become the next Faulkner or Hemingway -- I’m just out to tell a good story. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them!

EXTREME. MEASURE...R.J..Patterson
In Bolivia a CIA agent Marco Lopez had stumbled on some secrets, the Russians didn’t want him to have, and now has been abducted. Alex and Hawk are there to get the information and freeing Lopez. Not an easy task, Lopez gets lost, drops the locket with his wife picture, Alex has van ready, can they make it, Finding the dairy that Lopez mentioned that has details of what they were doing was more terrifying then they thought. Merchandise going in and out from what port, and then the financial black hat hackers. Blunt will make inquires, he has the best people for this assignment. Blunt even brings Mia in for one problem, one never knew if she is working for the good guys or bad. Several plots that twists and turn and yet they are connected . The ending brings lots of paper work for Hawk to fill out. Then Blunt is telling them about a mission with Obsidian where everybody will be working on it.
Great series with nonstop action, great plot, and characters we always want to.hear more of. Given ARC. for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

POTUS is planning a fourth of July celebration like Washington D.C. has never had before. He is coming up for reelection and he is pulling out all the stops. Unfortunately for him a terrorist bent on revenge has other plans. On attack on the capitol during the festivities. The death toll would be far greater than any terrorist attack in are nation's history. Brady Hawk and the rest of the Phoenix team have their hands full. It seems like their always two steps behind. Non stop action, intrigue,suspense. This book has it all!!! Enjoyed immensely!!

This book has the best characters! Of course there is our favorite Phoenix Foundation three, Hawk, Alex and Blunt. Then add in Titus Black, Christina Shields, my new favorite dark web hacker, Mia, President Young, President Young’s daughter, Olivia, and the absolute most evil terrorist, Evana Bahar. What you get is a story that’s full of action with suspense, kidnapping and several terrorist threats—enough to keep you reading into the night. I could not put this book down, so intense and well written. With Hawk, Alex and Blunt you know you will never be disappointed and it will leave you hungry for more. So happy!!

Truly sadistic writer!
His characters are real, they wear their emotions on their sleeve, the situations that are presented, are realistic. But solving the problems often end up leading to another thing, that's even more harrowing.
Full disclosure; I picked up the book heading to "The Throne" room around 3pm or so... Its 7:32pm!
So when I say you won't be able to 'sit it' down... Believe them!

A top notch action thriller with an excellent storyline and fantastic realistic characters. Contains plenty of non-stop action, lots of suspense, and a great ending. This well written thriller was a real page turner. I highly recommend this book and series. Looking forward to the next adventure with Brady Hawk.

This Brady Hawk thriller ties up a few loose ends and sets the stage for what the future holds. As usual Mr. Patterson has crafted an action/intrigue packed story that refuses to let the reader set it down until that last page is read. If you are a Brady Hawk fan, grab a copy and settle in for an entertaining read. I received an Advance Reader Copy and chose to provide this review.

Another good Brady Hawk adventure
I love this series, it ‘s always packed with action and adventure. The books are well written, easy to follow and leave you wanting more of Brady Hawk and now Alex. I must add though that all of the characters lend to the success of each story. Love, Love Love this series.

An interesting series
With numerous threats aimed at the upcoming gala that the President insists will happen, it's up to Hawk and crew to figure out a way to keep everyone safe, as well as catch all of the terrorists. There's never a dull moment for this crew!
I would recommend this book, series, and author.

Phoenix Foundation does it again.
Wonderful read. I enjoyed reading the moves within Black and Hawk getting us ready for the 4th of July celebration. It was actually interesting that the President's daughter (Olivia) was captured by the terrorists. Certainly how they got her back was interesting. Well it's time to get to my 21st installment.

It's Going to be Close
Once again, Hawk and Alex and the rest of the team are out to catch their nemesis before she can attack the Fourth of July event in DC. Evana Behar is a worthy opponent and she always has a backup plan... It will definitely be close coming down to whether the team can hack it.

Brilliant novel
This is without a doubt, one of my most favourite series of books. From the first page in the first book, I have been totally gripped by the story line, and, although I cannot wait for the last book, I will be sooty to have read it and finished the series.

Another great read from R.J. Patterson
The action never stops, and neither does the team. Obstacles are overcome, and their different personalities are woven together to form a formidable group. Patterson puts it all together in a well written tale.

Finally
This was a great book/episode of Brady Hawk and the terrorists. Finally one of the principal ones has finally died at the hand of Brady Hawk. More excitement to follow while the Phoenix group goes after more of them.

fantastic book, as always
This is #20 book that I have read and I have loved everyone of them. I was waiting for surgery and I have now had the surgery, these books have been a lifesaver as I sit and do nothing. I have one more to read and can’t wait to start it.

how will the 4 th of July end
While this book had a lot of action and some twists I just couldn’t get done fast enough reading it. The plot was strong but I figured out how it would end before the ending. Here’s to hoping the next book is better
