Carmen got the jeans at a thrift shop. They didn’t look all that great; they were worn, dirty, and speckled with bleach. On the night before she and her friends part for the summer, Carmen decides to toss them. But Lena decides they should all try them on. Whoever they fit best will get them.

Nobody knows why, but the pants fit everyone perfectly. . .

Take the New York Times bestselling book and pair it with a perfect cast, a screenplay from one of Hollywood’s most respected writers, and gorgeous locales like Vancouver, Baja, and Santorini, and you have The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants , the teen girl movie of summer 2005 from Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures!

• Ken Kwapis directs a dream Alexis Bledel ( Gilmore Girls ) as Lena, 2004 Emmy nominee Amber Tamblyn ( Joan of Arcadia ) as Tibby, America Ferrara ( Real Women Have Curves ) as Carmen, and newcomer Blake Lively as Bridget.

• Screenplay by Delia Ephron—the screenwriter behind You’ve Got Mail and associate producer of Sleepless in Seattle .

• The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants received enormous recognition including starred reviews, was named an ALA Best Book for Young Adults, is a Book Sense Book of the Year, a Publishers Weekly Flying Start, and won the hearts of teen girls across the country—and continues to be a New York Times Bestseller.

A very cute little movie companion that somehow also seems like a main series companion. It's definitely a movie companion book though, in the small details of how Lena refers to her grandparents and some other small things, but it still fleshes out the girls' childhoods and some of the side characters throughout the first book/movie too. A good read.

I have read and re-read this series a bunch of times, so imagine my surprise to find this book at a thrift store - apparently published in 2005, but I didn't even know it existed. It is exactly as described - sweet notes, letters, invitations, etc. Nothing of substance, but a cute, quick read. Perfect for my car ride to the coast last week.

A cute little companion book for fans of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. It says it's a movie companion, but it definitely adds a bit more for fans of the book. I think I've outgrown the series at this point, but it was still cute. May be fun to read along with the first book again in the future.

This was an adorable book. It is a good aid to the series because I always wanted to know what they wrote and you literally get to see what is going on. It is super cool because while reading this you can picture each of them and what they were doing.

The Book i read was the Sisterhood of the traveling pantsThe Author of this book is Ann Brashares, i rating i woould say for this book would either be a 4 1/2 of 4. the recommedndation i give this book to who ever likes to read about how best friends or like or friends, that something can happend to all of them at one time.

This Book was about these four girls who try on one pair of jeans and it fits all of them, and it comes like some kind of magic or something gives good luck. The mood i would say for the book would be happy because of that one pair of jeans brings those girls happy. the tone for this story would be exitment because you just want to know whats going to happend. and who is going to get the pair of jeans next and whats going to happen when they were those jeans..

the main point of this story is that one pair of jeans fit four girls and its only one size. what i think about the characters are that they have good parts in the book, like how they act and what they say, and you dont know if they are being serious or faking it.

And i say you should read this book because, i would say its somewhat adventurust because all those girl are somewhere else they are not together and they have to mail eachother the pair of pants, and when that person is done using the pants they have to give it to one of their friends.

Well that was stupid. Names and events got changed from the rest of the books. I realize that it says it's based off of the movie, but being a book, should it not be based off of the books...? Putting that aside, the content was just plain boring and not at all appealing.

I laughed so hard when I read some of these entries, but to really get the comedy you have to read the books.

This was a super fast read & I managed to read it in one go. Although it wasn't as good as the series it was still a cute little extra sisterhood fix ;)
