All the stars!

Full RTC. For now know I loved every minute of this, completely devoured it in one sitting. Love this series so freaking much!!

”I’m not safe. It’s not that I’m a delicate flower who needs protecting. It’s that I’m a fucking reckless missile that has no control of its target.”

Also giving it an award for the best group scene - possibly - I’ve ever read. It was Stunich level of group hotness!!

Loved the first, this was even better! Even funnier, even hotter! Less plot and action maybe but it didn’t even matter to me.

Cliffhanger warning with 2 books left to be released in the next couple of months, sign me up.
Can’t wait.

SO I really enjoyed this book a LOT more than the first one in the series. This book was just overall better to me. Story wise we finally find out what Izara is. The gym teacher wants to help her manage her Prod ability mostly to help her the way he couldn’t help his son. Using some mojo he brings her power forward to allow her to manage it. I find it hilarious once her powers came out she got stuck dragging her hellfire wings around with her everywhere for weeks no less, talk about a workout lol. Personally I’d hate to have wings I couldn’t use, my dumbass would probably jump off the roof repeatedly until I got them to work right 😂 I’m just not sure if the teacher can be trusted because aside from Izara’s guys everyone seems to be out for themselves or just evil. I’m glad there’s no catty girl fighting which seems so prevalent in any book with a school setting. The sex was way hotter this time with a lot more group participation 😘 Even Phoenix I’m glad to report was only half the asshole he normally is. While we got another cliffhanger ending, this one was really good and I’m looking forward to the next one. She’s been summoned to hell by her daddy and I am so excited now to see where this leads.

Well this was better then the first. It still needs some work but it's getting there. there was a bit more story this time and we got to learn more of the characters. There was still more emphasis on the sex more then anything else. I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen next. ill the guys go after her or will she get back herself? It seems like she's managing her prod so what will that mean for her now?

This one picks up a few weeks later from the last book, and while it’s good, the editing seems to have not been as good. There were typos and missing words, but otherwise the story was good.

I still feel like nothing major happens until the end. Sure we had some crazy events but the meat of the story keeps happening at the end. Why can’t people not do cliffhanger endings? It’s super annoying. If I like the story enough I’ll read the next one. You don’t need to entice me with a hanger, maybe wrap up the story but have an overall subplot that spans the series. Idk.

Anyways in this one I can not believe at the end that they

Book 2, and it's okay. I will say this series is definitely New Adult. It's just that the characters feel younger than they are, even for supernatural. I am used to sups feeling older, assuming it's because they have to grow up with all this power and with secrets and usually in some kind of war. Usually their society's hold on to less morden notions and old traditions in fear of discovery or watering down their genes, all because those in power want more, but don't want others to get strong enough to take it... wait...I digress.

anyway, the series is okay. The characters are okay. Even though this is book 2, I found the insta-love to be less believable. Just didn't feel like they had been through enough together to be so instantly in love. Bonds or not, I like a little brain trying to confirm what the soul says is true in my insta-love. would have preferred more insta-lust for longer, then something huge and boom! insta-love.

so ya okay, but I'm not sold on the love. I like the characters, Saint is mischievous, and I enjoy his poking. Phoenix, Psycho, and Ma...the wolf. well, they have their good traits... Although in this series, the wolf has lost points in my eyes. Psycho and his chat with Phoenix is sweet and funny... Phoenix has grown on me.

So right now, I'm in it because it's an okay read, and I don't have the urge to not finish it. Might as well carry on.

oh, and smut level increase, although for a moment, I wasn't sure what was going on. unusual for me and my love of smut. So, it's a high smut, but okay, not great smut.

Title: Control of Five
Series: Origins of the Six #2
Source: Kindle Unlimited

It's rare I give a book below 3 stars. I hate doing it because I feel like 3 stars alone can be a little offensive, never mind 2. But I genuinely feel like nothing happened in this book? In the last book, we at least had all the drama of Izzy meeting her boys and then being bullied and feckless and blowing the place up. But in this one, we didn't get a massive adventure of them saving Saint, we didn't even have long to wait before Saint just came back at the demand of his rich dad. Then nothing happened that was remotely interesting bar the fact Izzy got wings and Saint sucked some blood for like 90% of the book, and in the last 3% we finally got some drama as Izzy was dragged to hell. Trust me. That's all that happens. Hopefully the next book excites me a little more than this did.

2.5⭐️ …. again 😵‍💫

Ughhhh I like it but loath it at the same time!

The potential is there but it is so unbelievably choppy and has absolutely no story build up what so ever. It’s literally like they have brain stormed parts of the story and then decided to do the whole cut and paste thing without filling in the gaps and blending it together because it’s that bad….🫣😩😬🥴

I will still continue to read them but lord I hope their writing style has become better then this rubbish seeing how this is a few years old now. The ending was supposed to be creepy or whatever but it was laughable and cringy as hell.🙅🏻‍♀️🚫

The only thing that was done well was the 🌶️ scene with the lot of them and the MM is the cherry on top… although a sneeze lasts longer then this did🤧

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 👉🏼 being generous…

DNF.

Better than the 1st!

This book was fantastic. So much happened here to help propel the story further along and keep the reader engaged. Many questions and mysteries were answered from the first one such as Izzy’s prod and her abilities. The world these authors have created is beyond creative and a one of a kind in regards to supernatural academies that I have read. The entire story flows well in my opinion and has just enough “fluff” (for lack of a better word) that allows the reader to really connect with each character and gives them insight to their daily lives, struggles, emotions, and personalities. The authors added just enough light hearted moments to break up the monotony of all the drama.

Her harem is coming together nicely even though it’s still a learning curve for them all. This isn’t a series with a ready made harem just waiting for the perfect woman. They all come from different backgrounds and they are learning how to work together for the sake and happiness of Izzy. That being said, the steam with all of them is off the charts hot! Especially the MM but I’m always a sucker for juicy well written MM.

The ending has piqued my interest and has me thinking that my theory from book one is close to being right so I’m excited to continue the series to see what unfolds. Great series that has plenty of action and drama to keep readers on the edge of their seat.

Will not be continuing this series. Too much back and forth between the heroine and her guys. Heroine had a couple TSTL moments. Where were her men when you needed them🙄
Read like teenagers.

Thanks to a good tip, I read Academy of Six, and then Control of Five. I have to pass along how amazing I found this series. I was hooked from the beginning with Izara and her guys. She is a strong female lead, that is thrust into this school, and it is dangerous. As we find out in book one, she has had to enlist the help of the school's baddies Saint, Phoenix, Syko, and Malek. These are a mix of supernaturals that call to Izara. And she in turn calls to them. Their push and pull, love and hate, and chemistry has kept me coming back. There is some m/m scenes, I am not a huge fan of them, but these are well done. I like how they have been together for along time, but both want Izara, which fuels their passion. You actually feel their bond and that projects to include her, and to me it flows perfectly with their attraction/chemistry with one another.
And the sex scenes, wow, are so freaking hot!! You will need to be reading these scenes alone, while you fan your self, they are so hot!!

The plot itself is a nice twist, the pace of the story is fast, and the characters are funny, sexy, and determined. For once the guys set their sights on Izara, she really did not have a chance. There may be some bumps in the road, but nothing worthwhile ever comes easy.

I would definitely recommend reading the series in order, so that way you can understand the plot and struggles of the characters. Also we have a huge cliffy, one that left me saying noooooooooo!! I really need book three now!! Good thing we do not have that long of a wait.

I absolutely love the tone of this author's voice. I was literally laughing out loud at a few turns of phrase in use. In particular the one with Syko in the classroom when the prom was being initially discussed.
This book was also astonishingly more sexually active, almost to an uncomfortable degree if you, like me, don't actually feel the need to read every detail. But those who do want that, you will love this. And for me it wasn't enough to put me off, but it might be to you. If the first book went from zero to sixty with the sexual activity to you, this one takes it to 120 in the same way. If the next one goes to 180 as quickly I might need help. But it'll be completely worth it.
There were a few blips on the road to filling out the plot, some things were glossed over that could have used a tiny bit more attention. This was in no way a perfect book. But I honestly don't care because I absolutely LOVE it. She promises the next two volumes in a rather short time frame, and I truly hope that happens as promised. It sounds, from her endnote, as if both of the next titles are actually already written and ready to go through the publishing machinery, so there is hope I won't have to wait too long. But if it takes time I can always re-read these two books to help tide me over, it won't be the same of course but I'll still be happy with that.

WARNING: yet another cliffhanger

I really don't know why I read this because I didn't like the first one. Okay. That's not true. I read this because I wanted to know what happened to the vamp. Less than two chapters in that situation is resolved, which means the cliffhanger of the first book was a cheap trip to reel in readers and not an actual plot device. You could have left it out entirely and the series would still work.

The FMC character reads like a cardboard cut out. She just has no real personality. The writing style is difficult to get into. It's choppy and uses over the top humor in place of character delevopment. Somehow all the characters have nearly identical voices. I lost track of how many times I had to skip back to the start of a chapter to figure out who was talking. The sex scenes were so confusing. Halfway through the group scene the authors stopped using the male characters' names so I have no idea who was doing what. It also really bothered me that the guys kept going when the FMC clearly wasn't into it anymore.

I honestly can't put my finger on any one thing that made me dislike this so much and I hate that because I like to be very clear about why I'm leaving a bad review. Bottom line, I don't recommend this series but I will probably read the next one because this one had yet another ridiculous cliffhanger.

I absolutely love this series!! It's different from all the academy romance books out there, which is so refreshing! The characters are fantastic...I love all the different types of supernaturals and the abilities each one has. I really can't wait to find out what Izzy really is and just how powerful she will be. The group dynamic is starting to change and I'm interested to see how they are going to unite to help Izzy. And I'm so hoping for some more group scenes in book 3 because HOLY HOTNESS BATMAN! Another smash hit for A.K. Koonce!!!

4.5 stars. The story continues after Izzy blew up the dorm and Shade being shady. The introductions and set up for the relationships was done in book 1. Now it’s full throttle relationship/sex mode and it is good.

No bullying, a little jealousy and a lot of confusion. I loved the guys and in this one they’re even better, each going through their own growth.

Cliffhanger ending and for me that’s where the story lost points. The ending for these types of books is starting to feel mandatory since it’s the fourth book I’ve read now. Other than that it’s fast paced and enjoyable.

Never disappointed

Well I started this book today at 7am read till 8 , went to my dr appointment, read it in the waiting room, came home and ready some more and just finished it at 2pm. And I can honestly say that I wish I would have dragged it out at least a little bit bc the next book isn’t out yet. It was perfect it started back off where book 1 left off, has all the sexy suspenseful waiting and plenty of tension as well.

Yasssssss!! Group scene. Worth it! I'm just saying. We find out Izzy's Prod and what she is and she also has sweet additions to her body! We get a new character introduced in this book and Heaven is well like her brother lol it's nice that Izzy has some girl friends. But that ending! Ugh damn it! Luckily A.K. Koonce doesn't usually make us wait to long for the next book because she's an angel like that. 😁

Great Development

Poor Izzy is dealing with some crazy stuff after the last book. Once her man gets rescued from his punishment he took for her we get some fantastic relationship development along with lots of steam. Add in a few more characters and the secrets start emerging making it hard for Izzy to deal. Just as she starts to get the hang of things we get the doozy of a cliff hanger. Book three is going to be awesome! I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

Not loving it. For such a short book it took me way to long to read it and I don't think really anything happened except for the cliffhanger at the end... There are not any good reasons for why people do the things they do, it just comes down to "reasons". The bake sale thing was just really weird... I don't think I'll continue on with this one.

While I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next I hope that is more on the backstories. The books feel a little like I started them in the middle of the series instead of the beginning. But I’m definitely invested and want to see how it ends.

I am liking this series. I wasnt sure at first because book 1 had a lot of plots and it could get confusing. This was much more put together and made more sense. Saint has been taken away from her because of what she did. He takes the fall and Professor Shade vouches for that as well. Now, I think he genuinely wants to help her. His story is a sad one we get a glimpse of but I bet there is more to that story. Iz is a tremendous character. She's got feelings and she has empathy for others. She's not afraid to say she doesn't know something and she wants to learn! We get a bigger peek at her Prod. Man its destruction personified but so beautifully cool. Phoenix is as ass through most of this because he blames her for what happened to Saint. Yes...its on her BUT ultimately it was up to Saint and Prof. Shade. Dont worry...Saint comes back fairly quickly and lemme just say his Father is a massive asshole! He's worse than Phoenix and that's saying something. Pretty damn abusive to his own son. It also seems that his disgust for drinking blood has been cured...at least from Iz and Syko. God...that conversation between Syko and Phoenix was hilarious. For the most part the guys are okay with sharing her except Malek. He's a shifter and things are different for them but he's working on it. At the end I now have an inkling who Iz's Father is. It all fits. Hello cliffhanger! Lucky for me next book has been released. I dont think of this place as a school or academy. Its more like prison. There's not been a side of it that screams anything else. The Headmaster is a dick and has no backbone because he totally cowered to Saint's Dad. I just dont understand the school....why it is the way it is. I mean is this it? Do we get more information about it and why they use funds strangely? They dont repair destroyed buildings but can put on a huge Prom dance? Makes no sense.

The Academy of Six was created to stop a reckless power, to help students learn to live with their prod but along the way, its mission became twisted, distorted. They stopped helping and began destroying their own. Now Izara could destroy the academy itself if she can't gain control of her prod.

Again, I enjoy the characters and the idea of their relationships. Izara's character growth is stagnant and it's overshadowing everything. She got her wings and knows her lineage to an extent. Why doesn't she claim some control? Start standing up for herself? Stop fearing herself and her potential power? She is a bit frustrating when dealing with her men as well. Sex is highlighted more than relationship development between her and the men. The men's characters are deepening and they are bonding with each other in the way I want to see them bond with Izzy. The men are fantastic. All four. Their scenes jump off the pages. This series is gaining momentum. The pacing improved, the guys met my expectations, there's plenty of humor; now I just need Izzy to get it together.

This series is 🤤🤩😍🤤🤤🤤🙌😝

This series is seriously the hottest series I have read in a while.

The guys are all freaking delicious... and usually I would have a favourite but they are all neck and neck for the top spot. Each of them bring their own element to the story and to our FMC 😍

This books just explodes! Book one was such an amazing lead and them BAM this book drops and it's all I can do to not finish it in one sitting, however, I did finish it in a day.

The storyline is consistent and constant. It's never boring or full and keeps you entertain with everything that is happening and how the characters are interacting.

I am in love with this series, I sooo recommend it!

This was a good sequel to the first book, and I really became more invested in the story the longer I read. I was worried about what would happen to Saint, and how that would affect Izzy's relationship with Phoenix, and was happy with the resolution and the introduction to a female friend for Izzy as well. My one complaint is the same one I had with book 1, the whole story needed to be longer and there needed to be better character development. For example, Syko calls Izzy his best friend on multiple occasions, but from what we see as readers they have hardly had a single conversation. I see the potential in the characters and the story as a whole, it just fell a little short of my expectations.

Another good book. I felt that this storyline offered less than I was expecting. There was quite a bit of character development but I had two main issues. One is that the cliffhanger from the first book felt too quickly and easily resolved. My second issue is that there wasn't much offered to the main storyline in terms of plot. It felt like a lot more, encounters, with everyone and a few characters were introduced that did contribute to the story but also didn't feel super valuable. Again, not a bad book considering I didn't read it for the plot at first. But overall, it isn't bad. It does feel like the other book in writing terms where I feel like my college roommate talks about her drunk night out, but for a quick, spicy read, it's good. Onto book three.

This one was a little better compared to the first one in how it didn't feel disjointed or random. The only thing is thinking back it doesn't really seem as if anything happened during this book besides maybe 4ish things, the rest just seemed a bit like filler. I still am curious about what's going on with these characters who I do like but again it doesn't seem like much is happening to them. Overall it is a good book but it seems as if nothing really happened, hopefully the rest of the books pick up on the action.

Izzy Coming Into Her Powers

Book 2 of the series has the characters meshing and interacting more with each other than in the first book. Izzy is starting to gain control and learn what she is thanks to the help of much research in the library and to her men. The book was light on action, both kinds. I did enjoy the prom because who doesn't enjoy a pretty dress and men that look good in suits.
