Wolves. Dragon shifters. A fallen kingdom destined to rise again.

Evie Callahan is positive there's something strange going on in Seaton Falls, her new home. The locals are bigger, stronger, and faster than most. That includes Nick, the boy next door who's become her silver lining in this godforsaken town.

She wants to trust her instincts--about Nick, about what she suspects in Seaton Falls--but rumors of wolves and dragon shifters makes it hard to tell what's real. With a history of odd dreams and the nagging sense that she's never belonged, Evie fears she's losing touch with reality. Her concern only grows when someone who's haunted these dreams is suddenly tangible ... and claims to hold the key to unlocking her true identity.

Finding out her entire life has been a lie is scary enough, but what's downright terrifying is discovering who she's destined to become.

Evie's much more than your average, seventeen-year-old girl.

And this is her genesis.

This is a thousand percent YA. I’m pretty sure it would even be appropriate for an elementary schooler to read. So when I say this is YA, it means there isn’t any steam, or romance, or tension, bad language, mature thoughts, nothing.

Also, the supernatural elements are all background noise. I read the first book and a half then DNF’d it. This felt more like contemporary high school story than anything.

Interesting

I came to this series for something to read while waiting for the third book for Dragon academy. Due to the cliffhangers I'm extremely thankful all 4 books came in one package, saved me research time. I hate cliffhangers. I'm happy I got a chance to read the back story of the main girl in Dragon Academy, which while only partially released i like better, stronger leading lady and more steamy of a read. Kind of wish I had read these first, but if you didn't it won't ruin The Lost Royals.

First I'm more of a fan of a strong leading lady. In book 1 & 2 it was laid on pretty thick that Evie was emotionally struggling, but I got why so not much complaining. Author spent a lot of time in book 1 + 2 world building and leading into the supernatural world. Lots of heartache.

Books 3 + 4 had a lot more action and the characters really started to test the boundaries of their relationships as they grew as beings. I enjoyed the multiple points of view aspect of the books so we could work through everyone's growth and struggles. I also liked the added characters as the plot moved on, it kept things fresh and added to the drama with so many having different invested interests. A few well completed plot twists that messed with me since I knew the ultimate outcome from reading DA. These books are not boring!

My lack of star is from both leading boys being too "perfect" and over the top loving and caring. I like to see all love interests mess up at some point... Some kind of love/hate dynamic. Towards the end Liams love obsession became a bit much. I wish he had something, Hobby or anything in his life besides basically being Evies dog, err dragon. It would have made him more real to me. I did start to skip around when paragraphs were on going with Evies feelings the start/mid book 4. I got it and was over it.

Overall worth it! Great writing, few errors and great pace for keeping up with multiple characters without being boring or missing action.

What a great series!!!

This complete series box set is outstanding. A princess destined to be queen is ruthlessly killed by an assassin created just for that reason. Her mate goes on a century's long killing rage in his grief. Centuries later her mother resurrects her and leaves her on the steps on the steps of a hospital where she is adopted by a couple who never tell her she is adopted. From there it's one big mess when she begins to shift, but into what? She's a hybrid, half wolf and half Dragon! You don't want to miss this one. Now I'm going to read the sequel series, Dragon Fire Academy. Highly recommended.

I loved this whole Saga and am so happy I came across it. It held my complete attention and devotion through out the whole series (which is hard to do)!
I became attached to all the main characters in different ways and they all stood out to me! I loved that Evangeline had two love intrests and how she went about them both and I loved how the storyline slowly introduced the supernatural side of the story into the daily life of Evangeline.
This series made me cry with both happiness and sadness at times and after I finished the series I couldn't help but wanted to hear more about Evangeline future.
I can't put into words how much I loved this book series! 100% recommend!

Even though I read the Dragonfire Academy series first, it did nothing to spoil the incredible ride of this, the first, series. The characters, the scenery, the plot, the cliffhangers were all amazing! I laughed out loud, cried rivers, and felt the angst that Evangaline , Liam, and Chris did. This series, and its follow up series, have made it onto my shirt list of Best Reads of 2021! My honest and unsolicited opinion is that if you don't read this series, you are doing yourself a horrendous disservice! And to Ms. Jonas, Brava!

An entertaining series!

****The Lost Royals Saga Box Set: An entertaining series!
This series starts out slow, gradually building into a heartwarming and interesting story with a fine edge, lost love, a cursed friendship, and a looming war. Some surprising twists and turns, with good character development encompassing close family ties, friendships, loyalty, and love. But evil lurks... An entertaining series with a really nice wrap up!

An amazing read

This series is worth the read! A young woman finding her place in a confusing new world as her life changes from what she thought was an adoption, into something much bigger! I did struggle to keep reading in the last book, but about halfway through it snapped back into focus for the surprising ending!

Freaking awesome!!!

My first impression of the first book in this series wasn’t great, and I seriously had to force myself to keep on reading it! Until the last few chapters, that’s when it got exciting, the story starts to come together and you become attach to the characters. I’m glad I gave this book a chance. Yay!

Epic loyalty & love prevails

I love when authors take you on a journey filled with loyalty that lives through the worst and love that lasts through time. W I did have to remember a couple of times the MCs were mostly 16-18, but that’s likely because the story was so well written I was able to immerse myself in it. Can’t wait to read more!

I absolutely loved the storyline, and greatly enjoyed living in the exciting shifter world, with its interesting characters. I hated having to put down my Kindle, but a girl’s gotta sleep sometime!

The ONLY reason I can’t give the series 5 stars is the many spelling and grammar errors—enough to be distracting. I hope Rachel Jonas will see the value in a good editor.

Great story

I love having the entire series in one 'book'. This story had so many twists, and I was emotionally invested almost immediately. The only bad part was there were some mistakes not caught by the editor in the later books. It wasn't enough to detract from the story though.

A good read

Told from different characters POV. The story of Evie and Liam. You can feel so much emotion in the writing. Something different to the norm with the wolves, dragons and witches. So many twists and turns that you dont see coming. The storyline is solid and I felt a deep connection to all the characters. Really enjoyable and highly recommended.

Good series but...

This was a good series but one of the main characters, Evangeline, really got on my nerves. She is supposed to be this incredibly powerful hybrid but all she did was cower and hide! She would start to be powerful but then fall flat. If it wasn't for her this would have been way better.

I totally enjoyed this series. The growth of Evangeline throughout the series is nicely done and I liked all the relationships that developed by the end. Flawed but engaging characters in a well-built world.

The romance is good and the the drama / angst is strong too. I recommend this series.

Amazing story!!!

This is my time reading Rachel Jonas and I loved the entire Lost Royals series. From book 1 through to the end of book 5, I was hooked. I will, without a doubt, be reading the spinoff series.

Absolutely loved this series. Couldn't put it down. Fell in love with all the characters & loved the different dynamics & loyalties. Wish it continued rather than jumped nearly 20 years for the next set.

Great read but slow

It's a good series, editing isn't horrible but needs to be done again. This is the first series that I had to take breaks from and skip pages because of how drawn out it was.
It is however a good series to read

This a serie worth reading. It’s a fun journey through the world of lycans and dragons. A journey of discovery and acceptance of the characters’ roles in life. There are plots, secrets, struggles of all kinds, romance, and fun. Twist and turns. Surely I’ll read Noelle’s saga now.

Great book

Why Amazon insist on 20 words for a review via kindle, I don't know. Especially when I just want to say that I really enjoyed this book.

To the author(as I know many read their reviews)... I appreciate and respect your hard work & perseverance in creating & completing a whole series. I intend no disrespect, but I admit to more than a mild frustration with your story & how it unfolded. This review is less for you than other readers as I don't want to offend you with my bluntness. I know to a much smaller extent the challenges of being creative & writing & would not want to negatively impact your muse. If a blunt review about why I stopped reading this series at book 2 will offend or upset you, please stop here. Thank you.

---------------------

I made it through Book 2 and I won't be finishing this series. The first book built up this lovely starcrossed romance between Evie & Nick along with their struggles coming into their powers & with the dangers brewing all around & even inside them as well the challenges of dealing with the love of her past life, Liam. I was super pumped, watching the groundwork be laid for what I thought might be an incredible throuple or at least of an intriguing love triangle.

I mean, Evie is a hybrid. Maybe the reason her wolf never met its full potential was because the dragon had its mate, but the wolf did not. Also, Evie is NOT the Evangeline of old no matter what powers & genetics they magically shared. Evie has lived a totally different life than Evangeline in a completely different time period with completely different experiences. So it makes sense that two such disparate women might love two very different men... And what if her love was the key to overcoming Nick's Liberator curse all along? I mean the potential for an intriguing story & dynamic was all there... And then Damascus happened and...

Look, I GET Nick & Evie needing to deal with all of their changes separately before they could further explore what they had, but instead, it became a plot device to force Evie into the arms of the love of EVANGELINE'S without considering whether Evie herself could actually love him. I mean they stripped her of her entire LIFE "temporarily" in order to make her totally dependent on Liam for emotional support. And then to take things further they tried to slap the Sheriff's daughter on Nick like a bandaid or something to replace her... And still I kept reading.

Liam was increasingly being pushed as Evie's everything whether she wanted him for herself or not & slowly, Nick was becoming almost demonized... despite being the only other rootable, sympathetic character! Then finally, Nick stupidly, blindly trusts a dangerous witch without even CONSIDERING confiding in anyone who might have insights that could help, like maybe Evie! And THEN when all hell breaks loose, Nick is the bad guy DESPITE him being as much a victim of his circumstances and that bloodthirsty savage LIAM as anyone. But Liam, who is an overbearing, emotionally manipulative, & violent MURDERER, is somehow absolved of all his evils because Evangeline loved him CENTURIES ago & tethered herself--and thus Evie--to him?!

At this point, after yet another "I love you" that felt so gross to me, especially since in defending him from the consequences of his actions, what started as the temporary loss of everyone & everything she ever knew & loved, it became PERMANENT, her only thought was to reassure HIS fragile male feelings... AND BLAME NICK TO BOOT. I... *sigh*

I then started looking for spoilers for the rest of the series. Would there be a second arc that would fix things and make Liam less awful & clear up the Nick/Evie/Liam triangle amongst other things? But it became clear Liam & Evangeline would get their HEA & Nick... Well, who knows what happens to poor Nick who made the terrible mistake of being born & falling for Evie? Hell, did Evie even survive? Or was she just another casualty of Evangeline & Liam's epic, eternal love story?

*sigh* I almost didn't post this review because I prefer to be positive & encouraging, or at least silent, but I figured someone had to be the one to say it for the people like me, who get to then end of book 2 and feel disappointed & duped. Because whatever story I thought I was getting, this stopped being it about halfway through book two. And from the reviews I read, everyone else is left by the wayside to ensure the Royals get their mystical happy ending.

Mixed emotions

For me it's more like a 3.5 stars, but it was more personal then the overall story. If it was just the first book, I would not have continued the series. Interesting story line and ideas, just had a hard time with some of the plot twists.

That was a nail biting, heart wrenching story

I read Dragon Fire Academy first & then needed to read the Lost Royals Saga, the storyline didn't disappoint. I did want to throttle Evangeline a few times but it was just her way. I loved the other characters. All seemed to weave nicely, I'm glad I read this & recommend to anyone who love supernatural shifter storylines.

Just could not get interested

The characters are very hard to like. The plot was awful, disjointed and confusing. Truly expected more of the author.
