"Second Best" tells the story of Shelley a friendly funny sometimes messy young woman who finds it difficult to be in the same family with her perfectly groomed and beautiful older sister Linda. No matter what happens Shelley always feels like she's only "second best " and her feelings of insecurity lead her to make some bad decisions about school work and her boyfriend before she learns that Linda has her own problems too.
Re-reading books I had as a kid. As infuriating as brothers can be, books like this make me glad I didn’t have sisters. Also, the procrastination and sick dread of the heroine is highly relatable.
