You know how it is, arc books piling up, a neglected TBR list but you spot a book for sale and bingo! suddenly your reading something that wasn't on your schedule.

It's my own fault, not only am I a book whore but I'm even more of a book on sale whore! The trilogy was only 99p and no way could I walk on by that bargain. My brain also needed a commitment free read so, after battling through a couple of troublesome arcs, I decided to indulge in a low expectation read. So colour me incredibly surprised when this turned out to be quite an engaging, emotional and utterly captivating read.

Solomon is absolutely to die for, so gorgeously sexy, so stridently dominant and so sweetly caring. He doesn't make the best of first impressions when he flies all the way to Paris to warn James not to fall in love with Christiana, though he is doing it from the best of intentions. Having been left both emotionally and physically scarred by the one time he fell in love with a sub, Solomon doesn't want his friend to suffer the same fate.

As the book progressed I fell in love with Solomon, there really wasn't anything to dislike about him. No wonder that ex-love and sub, Vivi, couldn't say no to him. You've read the blurb, so you don't need me to tell you that Solomon takes a second chance with the woman who broke his heart. Their scenes together were hot, the chemistry in their own words explosive.

I felt actual BDSM play felt fairly tame, though also entirely suitable for a couple who haven't done a scene together for several years. It didn't need intense BDSM, the connection, the emotion and connection between Vivienne and Solomon was all the book needed. By the end of the book I felt totally invested in this couple.

Normally it's either the male that stuffs up - or at least I feel it is his fault - but this time the fault all lies with Vivienne. I can't wait to see how she makes things up to Solomon and I will be jumping straight into Paris Punishment!

The "Paris" books are the second of three trilogies featuring the denizens of the (floating) Orchid Club, a super-exclusive BDSM club that caters to the Über-wealthy. While fantasy BDSM clubs are common in this genre, this one outdoes all the others in sheer gilded glitz.

Here, we get a second-chance romance between Solomon and Vivienne, who were together for five years before the stresses of her new job (as CEO of her family's corporation) and the impatience of youth ended their engagement. Five years later, they're re-united at an Orchid Club event, where they discover that they still have explosive D/s chemistry and lingering feelings for each other. But will the unresolved issues from their past get in the way of a possible future?

Let me first say that because I read all three books at once, I didn't experience the frustration other readers did. I strongly suggest doing that because none of these books is a stand-alone and the first two contain cliffhangers.

I enjoyed this set (as I enjoyed the first, Orchid Club: San Francisco: The Complete Trilogy) as the BDSM is well-described and consensual; the MC likeable, but with believable faults; the D/s isn't overwhelming since Solomon isn't a Neanderthal and Vivienne isn't a doormat (in fact, she's really only a bedroom submissive); and Ms. DuBois writes believable dialogue, characters with some depth and backstory (flashback scenes allow us to see the entire arc of the MC's relationship, including their first meeting), and just enough detail without it turning into info-dump.

Even though these books take place in the kind of rarefied atmosphere where people own islands, yachts, and helicopters (so thank god for Christiana, that breath of fresh air), I particularly like the fact that the couple's conflicts are organic and spring from competing claims on their time and attention (family matters, business obligations) rather than anything OTT (for my caveat to this, see below). Both Solomon and Vivienne learn the hard way that the great communication they share as BDSM partners has to carry over into their "vanilla" lives if they're ever going to make it as a couple. "Just talk to each other" is the over-riding takeaway from this book.

I do have four quibbles (an additional one is minor lack of continuity since Solomon was not alone when James called him in the first trilogy). First, all three contain several typos (if Ms. DuBois is using an editor, I suggest she find another one). Second, Solomon blames his hyper-successful mother for his interest in BDSM (really, authors, just don't). Third, the last third of the last book was repetitious (the couple rehashes the same argument) and just took too much disbelief for me to take seriously; there were less extreme ways to get the two to communicate. Finally, I had mixed feelings about Vivienne's decision .

4 stars. I particularly appreciated the point that the author makes about life: neither Solomon nor Vivienne is living how they imagined they would since both had different goals -- not only romantically, but also professionally -- when they were a decade younger than they do now. Since few of us can say that our lives have turned out just as we planned them, this aspect of the couple will ring true.

Side Note: I rarely look at covers, but the people on these don't look at all like Solomon and Vivienne are described.

Second-chance BDSM romance. Vivienne and Soloman have explosive chemistry. Their first relationship ended with a face-disfugring scar for Soloman. Neither of them has emptionally recovered from that relationship, five years later.

And a chance meeting pits them together again at an Orchid Club weekend. Much drama. Hot D/s and hot sex. And an explosive end to the weekend. And, of course, the story will continue.

Very good writing. The second chance tropes are well done.

An enjoyable beginning to the trilogy

Solomon and Vivienne's story begins in the middle. They broke up years ago but when they see each other at an Ochid even in Paris the flame that had never really died in either of them reignites. We will see were the next book takes us. Grabbing it right now!

Great book

A fantastic continuation of the series, they were a past they both thought best forgotten, an accident waiting to happen or were they. This could be their second chance a chance to renew what they had, or a chance to finally say goodbye forever.

She Did It Again

Ms DuBois did it again. I love the stories she writes. There’s a lot of emotion and angst and sex to keep me reading when I have a whole lot of other things to do. I heartedly endorse it.

First part of the paris trilogie, this is a second-chance romance between Solomon and Vivienne with a lot of SPICY scenes

The 3 stories are short but together they make a good size book. I'd suggest reading them together because the first two books end on a cliffhanger.

Great story. Lots of BDSM. It’s the 4th book of Orchid Club but it’s a totally new story. This one has a cliffhanger and thus I am anxiously ready to read the next one in the series.

4/5 - Solomon hates Paris, and I get it sexy... I really do.

I really love the Orchid Club stories... this is no exception. Solomon is a babe.

The Orchid Club is an exclusive, uber rich BDSM traveling club. Each month there is a new theme in a new city and country. This trilogy takes place in Paris.

We meet our Hero, Solomon, in the first trilogy (San Francisco Love series — you don’t have to read those for this storyline but I encourage you because they are so freaking good!). Solomon own his own private island which is mostly his private BDSM dungeon that he entertains with his own kink parties. In Paris Pleasure we learn why he left the Orchid Club circuit... Vivienne.

Vivienne is a CEO of a ultra rich and high end wine making company. Her family is a wealthy French family and she exudes control, power, and wealth. But her release is through submission... the kink kind. Her Dom and Lover was Solomon.

They run into each other in Paris, the setting for the next Orchid Club party. Solomon is there to convince his friend James (Hero of San Francisco Love) that he can either have a D/s relationship or husband/wife relationship with his sub/fiancé. Vivienne is there because she needs a release baaaaad.

When they meet the encounter is explosive. Then sexy as hell. (Lila Dubois can write amazing kink scenes. ) In the middle of a scene an “emergency” occurs not between Solomon and Vivienne — this emergency is a major conflict and where the story of book one ends. This emergency kinda comes out of no where and it’s abrupt and that is why my rating is 4/5 - in addition to editing errors.

I can’t wait for Paris Punishment!

FYI:

Oral, manual, vaginal, anal penetration. Impact play, nipple torture, exhibitionism. Anal hook, thumb bondage.

Alcohol consumption.

** I received this arc from the author in exchange for a honest review. Thank you Ms. Lila!

4.5

Vivienne is cool, calm, elegance running her family's business, no one questions her and all scramble to due her bidding, but in private she is a masochist, submissive. She's goes to the Orchid Society to find the sweet release of letting go. Solomon is a bigwig in his own right, living and working from his own island, hosting private BDSM parties in his personalized dungeon.

While Solomon is scarred on the outside, they are both scarred on the inside from their relationship six years ago, that crashed and burned. When Solomon races to Paris to try to convince Nolan that he can't have both a BDSM and vanilla relationship with the same person he comes face to face with Vivienne and old scars are ripped open.

These two start sparking at the bar, which depending how you look at it either ended badly or finally gave them an excuse to reconnect. Ending with them agreeing that their BDSM chemistry couldn't be ignored.

We get three nights to get to know these two and experience the intense connection that caused them to fly high and crash and burn again. Lila has a talent for pulling you into her stories and feeling everything the characters are feeling. Of course the diabolical woman leaves us hanging at the end, the time until the next release passes quickly. The twist at the end is jarring not only for Vivienne but for me as a reader, I think I was left feeling just as discombobulated as Vivienne and Solomon.

I received an ARC copy and am voluntarily leaving a review. There were some editing issues but I expect any editing issues will be resolved before publishing.

Oh wow. Just....wow! I thought I knew what to expect with this book. I knew there was going to be some drama, a fair bit of BDSM, and a cliff hanger (I mean really, it's a trilogy!) But I didn't expect this!!! This book had me hooked from the beginning, and now I just can't wait until the next part hits my Kindle!

Solomon and Vivienne have some heavy baggage. They were together, then something bad happened, and they weren't together. (There are secrets that aren't revealed yet, but bits and pieces are dropped) There is a lot of hurt, and anger, between them, but there is also a connection that is undeniable.

I'm not the biggest fan of cliff hangers, but when this author does them, she does them right. Each part of the story, while leading to the next part, still feels like it's complete, even if the story isn't over, and they haven't gotten their HEA yet (I really hope that makes sense! LOL) So far, their story has been full of emotions, some that I'm not sure they even understand yet, and underlying hurt and confusion that promises to explode during the next two books. I am looking forward to the fireworks!

The Orchid Club is a BDSM club that is in a different city every month. Solomon heads to Paris to warn his friend James against falling in love with his submissive. While at the club’s location in Paris, he runs into his old love and sub, Vivienne. They had a very bad breakup years ago. As much as they try to avoid the chemistry between them it is impossible. They begin to play, saying that is only for the three days. Solomon and Viv begin to reignite the feelings they used to have for each other and think that they might be able to begin anew. Unfortunately, Viv’s family interferes, and she has to make a choice, Solomon or her family/business. This results in an argument and they both separate.
This is book 1 in a new trilogy by Lila Dubois. This book sets up how the characters first came together. As the story progresses, we get bits and pieces of how the characters came together. I liked both Solomon and Viv. Both are very strong people outside of the club. When they get together, the chemistry is hot. Both are world weary but come alive when they are with each other. The sex scenes are off the charts due to the relationship between the two characters. Decisions have to be made where this relationship is heading. It is a cliffhanger as it is a trilogy. I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens.

They were once lovers and perfect D/s partners and engaged and now they seem to be enemies of the highest degree. You can't always presume what you think you know you just have to read and investigate for yourself.

Vivienne Deschamps and Solomon Carter. What can I say. You have to like to read about any type of sexual experiences if you read this book. I loved Fifty Shades of Grey. I have read a nine book installment of the type of sexual encounters that having to do with BDSM so I was really reading for the story line of the realtionship between these two people. With Paris as the backdrop and the two young people having already had a previous relationship that both of them blew up over. Life finds them back together at Club Orchid where they had spent time together in their previous relationship. We find out that the spark of chemistry they had before is still there. It seems that she is a CEO of her family's company and he has his own career which he runs out of his island somewhere. He finds himself confronting his Vivi (Vivienne) who evidently was his sub and his lover. It is really an interesting plot and it ends in a cliff hanger and I purchased that so I can continue to see what happens between Master Solomon Carter and Vivienne and her crazy relatives. I would recommend this trilogy.

"Paris Pleasure" had me a little confused at first, because I've come to expect that the Lila Dubois' characters are fairly clear about the dynamics and what they want out of a specific dynamic, even if they later find out that what they want and need is something diifferent than what they thought they wanted and needed. Both of the main characters here are absolutely certain that they do not want a 'relationship' relationship, ignoring the fact that a BDSM connection, unless it really has nothing to do with BDSM, is always a relationship. It is a relationship one where the dynamics are clearly understood and negotiated by both parties and honest communication is de rigueur. What better foundation could a romantic relationship have? Building trust between the participants is the only way to make power exchange function. I was irritated that these two, Vivienne and Solomon, with their experience and fairly good understanding of themselves, didn't seem to get those basic principles. How can that be?
On the other hand, I expect Ms. Dubois to take her main characters by the scruff of the neck in the remaining books of the trilogy, in order to shake, not sense, but real self-knowledge into them.

Lila Dubois’ Orchid Club Series is so sensual! The scenes are so well written that I can feel everything right down to the “very tip of my toes” (and other parts of my body)! I simply couldn’t put it down, and I certainly can’t wait for the next part in Solomon & Vivienne’s story! Solomon was introduced to us during the San Francisco Trilogy. He certainly captured my interest then because he seemed to have lost something precious to him! To me, Vivienne is a totally different type of submissive from the ones that I’ve previously read about. She’s an exceptional business woman; she has a very strong personality… therefore her NEED to submit is also extremely powerful, as is her specific choice of Dom. Solomon and Vivienne have a history; they also had a cataclysmic breakup! Vivienne hasn’t found any other master that has satisfied her like Solomon, and Solomon hasn’t found any other submissive who needs him like Vivienne. Their coming together again can only be because their chemistry gives them no other choice. They are meant for each other, but can they overcome what tore them apart… and is there a future for them? Can’t wait for the next part!!!

I've been waiting for Solomon's story since reading the San Francisco trilogy. What or who sent him to hide away on his island? How did he get his scar? Why does he keep people at arms length.

You don't have to read the San Francisco trilogy to read the new Paris trilogy. There are some secondary characters from the Orchid club and James and Christiana from the San Francisco trilogy make an appearance. But you can easily follow the story without reading the SF trilogy first.

Solomon once fell very much in love with Vivienne, but they ended badly. She not only left a scar on his face, but on his very soul. When they meet again in Paris, the fire between them still burns bright, and the chemistry is electric. Can Solomon keep his heart separate from his activities in the Orchid club?

This is a page turner with of course a cliff hanger. It is a trilogy. But the chemistry between Solomon and Vivienne can't be denied. Now I wait for the next book in the trilogy.... Is it August yet?

Since we met Solomon in the San Francisco Trilogy, I've been eager to see his story and Lila Dubois has not let us down. Solomon and Vivienne are explosive in more ways than one and the passion and heat between these two ignites the pages in a must keep reading story. Of course, this ends on a cliff-hanger that has you screaming in frustration not only at Solomon and Vivienne but also Ms. Dubois as she keeps us hanging in needing to know what happens next!

Although this is the next trilogy in the Orchard Club series though you don't have to have read the previous trilogy to understand and appreciate Solomon's tale but, it is nice to see some characters we have met previously and loved. If the sexy and naughty first instalment is anything to go by, Solomon and Vivienne's story is only going to get much more steamy, explosive and passionate as we follow them through their past and into the present. I can't wait!

I love Lila Dubois' Checklist and Undone books and I own the previous Orchid Club books but haven't read them, yet. Most of her other books are series with re-occurring characters and not serials, such as this book (I really, really, dislike, i.e. hate serials).

Loved the story and the chemistry between Vivienne and Solomon is off the charts. I author's descriptions of the characters attire and their scenes, makes the whole story come to life. Vivienne's family should be shot and Vivienne should spend more time on what she needs and not what her family needs. At first, I want to hate Solomon, but that man needs to come first and have someone care for him.

The cliffhanger almost broke my heart and I really cannot wait until Paris Punishment comes out in August.

This is definitely an author that I recommend.

Exclusive BDSM Orchid Club - This is part one in a trilogy. I normally do not like cliffhangers, but I knew that this was a trilogy before starting. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next two. There are secondary characters from the first Orchid club trilogy, but you do not need to have read that first, just a nice bonus for those who have. This story is all about Solomon and Vivienne and their possible second chance. Solomon and Vivienne met in their early twenties and dated for 5 years before things ended horribly. Now five years later they have a chance meeting at an Orchid Club event. WOW the chemistry between the two!! This book grabs your attention and doesn’t let go and leaves you wanting part two NOW!

Lila Dubois' Orchid Club books are hot..... and this one is scorching. Focusing on Solomon and Vivienne's past and present relationship, mistakes that were made, indecision, passion, anger. You name it, this book is so full of emotion, by the end of the book you're taking full, panting breathes as it is just that hot and emotional.
Both characters are so emotional, stubborn, erotic but neither really listens to the other resulting in a push/pull relationship that as we know is spread into a trilogy.
For a first book this is great and leaves you wanting more, there is also a few characters from previous books that pop up which is nice to see. I can't wait to read the next installment.

A second chance love story? Maybe...

Maybe not. As much as I loved the characters, especially Vivienne who is a strong independent woman at the top of her game. Solomon doesn’t believe in love. His reunion with Vivienne can only be as D/s. And as much as I like Solomon, his philosophy on BDSM and love is too arrogant to be put up with. This story is more than BDSM though, when these two powerful business scions come together there has to be respect. Not just in scenes but in their public lives. I was so caught up in this story when it came to the end of this installment I was heartsick, but it was one sexy hot emotional read.

I was hooked from the beginning of the story when Solomon was torn between going to the Orchid Club's latest event in Paris to warn off James from falling in love, or leave the city that he hates. There are so many questions as the story progresses - why does Solomon hate Paris? And if he is sure that James will not receive his advice, why does he remain so adamant about giving it? I was so engrossed in this story I couldn't hardly put the book down. It was interesting to see Vivienne's strong character but who was also a submissive. The chemistry between Solomon and Vivienne jumps off the pages. I can't wait to learn more of their back story and see what happens next.

Lila DuBois's books are addictive!
If you like drama, passion, humor, emotions, anger, erotic BDSM this is one book for you.
This is the first book in a trilogy and usually the first book is slow, but no not this one. It started with a gang and did not stop. It is sooooo good, the passion between Solomon and Vivienne is off the charts and full of every emotions possible. They have history and something went wrong. Just when you think all is getting better, Lila throws in a twist. I could not put my tablet down and can't wait for the next installment.
If you don't like trilogies, I recommend you change your mind, this one is a whopper of a good book! I give it more than 5 stars

I loved the start of Vivienne and Solomon's second chance adventure. A lot of baggage to be unloaded, a lot of secrets to be reveled, and steamy D/s action. Lila DuBois is great at building characters and their world's that you can truly see and feel. These two are compelling characters that make you want to learn more. The book is a fast, page turner, but a cliffhanger. I know Lila won't let me down with the next book. This is a great start to the Paris trilogy portion of the Orchid Club series. Although each trilogy can be read as standalone, why would you want to?

Solomon is jaded on love. Vivienne is the cause. When they meet again after their explosive departure from one another all the chemistry they had is still there. The way they worked as Dom and sub was everything right. It was their personal lives that caused such an irreparable rift. I was rooting for them all through this book. Their emotions jump off the page and into my heart. They are both so lost without each other but it seems as though they can't survive being with each other. There is such hurt and loss but infused with love in these pages. I cannot wait for the next installment because I don't truly know if they will be a happily ever after or not.
