When steadfast and beefy Connor Williams meets aspiring writer Alice Hart, he is completely enamored by her sensual beauty. Alice’s brimming creativity inspires Connor to pursue his dream of becoming a cop. But when Alice’s career forces her involvement in criminal activity, Connor must face choosing between true love and reality.
After Alice is thrown into a pit of mobster activity, she meets a handsome and mysterious man by the name of “Julian.” Both men inadvertently find themselves attracted to the young and feisty Alice. But when the criminal underbelly finds her in more danger than they initially thought—which of the young bachelors will find themselves coming to her rescue?
I'm on the fence with this read. I felt the storyline to be choppy, and ended abruptly. I wasn't connecting with the main characters either. For a couple who are supposedly in love to make such bad choices, I found them unlikable, then one just seems to be omitted from the story. Sorry Allie, not one of your better works.

While I enjoyed this book, I found the ending disappointing. I hope it is part of a series, otherwise it reads like a cliffhanger. Alice, needing a job to keep a roof over her head until her writing career takes off, gets a starting position at a billionaire's company. By accident, she becomes the billionaire's, Matthew, personal assistant. It is a strange position, making an excellent salary. Meanwhile, on her personal time she meets Connor, a cop want-to-be. And during one of her unusual duties, she meets "Julian". While she finds all three men attractive, her relationships with all three are different.

I am still trying to work out if there is another book to follow this one, so that lots of questions are answered. Alice is a very busy girl in this story. Her boss wants her, but she says no, and he backs off. Then she meets Conner and they start a relationship. Conner breaks up with Alice when she gets involved in shady things trying to help her boss. Then she takes off with Julian and immediately jumps into bed with him. This story has a lot going on, and there are lots of unfinished ideas. I am hoping that a second book will help this story along.
3.5 stars This story has interesting segments but it’s also confusing. The blurb seems different than the story. Alice is looking for a different future and starts working for a CEO, Matthew. Then we are introduced to Connor who wants to be a police officer and then Julian. So I’m not sure who her ‘real’ love interest is. She gets tied up with the mob to top it off. I’m assuming this story has a second book to follow but I wasn’t aware of that when I started the book. (That makes a difference to me when I read a book.) All the characters have potential and I really like Ms. Hayden’s writing. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review.
Loved Alice & Cooper's story. Great characters. Couldn't put this one down. Put me in mind of the movie pretty woman a bit. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book via booksprout.
Alice has to decide if she really is in love with Connor the want to be officer. Alice has an attraction to Connor. She met him at a coffee shop where she went to write. She's a want to be writer who is using her job as an assistant to the CEO, Matthew. Matthew tried to hit on her first but she felt no chemistry and he was her boss so she felt they should not get physically involved. She meets Julian, not his real name at a club Matthew took her to. He was acting like she was his girlfriend but after she told him not to, he left her at the bar and went and did his own thing. Julian happened to be at the club and talked to her and even gave her his card. Julian told her to call him if she needed anything. So she did need help with what was going on with Matthew's tech company and she thought he could help. That's how Julian and Alice came to have a relationship of sorts. Allie Hayden always has a story along the lines of woman conflicted about her relationships. Who will she choose or will she choose anyone.
Alice Hart was hired and this was her first day on the new job. She saw herself as a free-spirit adventurer type and felt she had sold out to the corporate capitalistic nine-to-five grind. Little did she know of the assignments she would soon be handling!
A pudgy woman Alice had met when she arrived, apparently a supervisor, was talking animatedly with a young professional man. She said she wanted someone “right now” so he suggested she select one of the new employees. Since the job was going to be different, he wanted someone “moldable”. Then he looked up, locked eyes with Alice, and she started back defiantly! Instead of being mad at her eavesdropping, he smiled, then turned back to Ms. Weaver and had a whispered conversation. Ms. Weaver later called Alice to her office. Matthew Blackwell, the CEO and a multi-billionaire playboy, chose Alice to be his Personal Assistant and they would be leaving on a business trip out of Chicago the next day! She was warned he could be “difficult”, but the job offered adventure and opportunity and that was certainly a better fit for her.
Alice rushed to Mr. Blackwell’s office for a meeting, but no one was there. She waited up against a wall for 24 minutes and immediately chastised him for being late when he finally arrived. When he smiled and said she just might last longer than his previous assistant, she reminded him that he was not getting off so easily. He wanted them on a first-name basis, then they sat down to discuss her new position. Why did Fifty Shades of Grey suddenly come to mind? He mentioned secrets and danger, then showed her where to sign. He winked at her and she rolled her eyes. He told her aside from running the standard business practices, he also handled some unsavory matters as well, dealing often with the underbelly of the corporate world. Her job was to keep him on track and keep him safe. This was definitely going to be a different type of challenge for her! Was she ready for it?
The story started off in a rather negative tone, with Alice starting her new job and not being excited by the prospect in any way. It just brought the mood right down, which made it a harder climb to get back into the story. However, Alice was a strong character and I liked the way she was able to take charge. I didn’t think any of the relationships were developed very thoroughly – feeling sort of rushed with an insta-love aspect. But despite this, I still enjoyed the story line and how Alice was able to stand up for herself.
Alice started a job where she thought she would be a secretary but ended up being an assistant to the CEO of the company. He is a difficult man but she manages to handle him. She meets Connor and they start a relationship. Then the business has problems, she reaches out to Julian for help,, then things get interesting.
This is hot steamy contemporary action adventure romance. The characters are developed extremely well and have distinctive personalities. You find yourself drawn into Alice’s world and want the best for her. She is a smart, motivated, and beautiful woman trying to juggle her personal and professional lives. I like her flexibility and how she grew as a person throughout the book. And how she deals with her internal struggles and external obstacles. The sexual scenes are detailed and hot, while fitting well into the storyline. If you enjoy steamy romances with some action, give this book a try. This is the first book in a series.

Intriguing Alice is an aspiring writer but gets a job in the meantime in admin but immediately gets promoted to the PA of CEO Matthew Blackwell multi-billionaire who needs her to keep him organized within his business which isn't as it seems. She then meets Connor in a coffee shop & they have an instant connection who wants to be a police officer & soon they can't stay away from each. Matthew then tells her that his company is being targeted & she turns to Julian, a charming but bad billionaire who she met when she was on a business trip with Matthew for help, however, in return he makes bets with her for favours in return for information. She tries to keep all 3 relationships separate but eventually they collide leaving her life changing direction. It takes a while to get how the 4 of them are connected but it had me hooked from the beginning leaving it on a cliff hanger desperate for the next book.
This book had me so torn up from the minute I realized that Connor was in law enforcement and Alice worked for someone with unsavory ties. I was really hoping that they would work out, but like another series by the same author, only time will tell. I'm in love with Connor myself, and if Alice didn't want him, I'll gladly take him for myself! Please note the book I read did end on a cliffhanger, and I really can't wait to read more! I need to know how this story plays out!!
Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

So this book is a little different in that Alice the main caracter is not your typical straight forward female caracter that one is often used to. She gets a new job, has a slight flirt thing with her boss Matthew, then meets and falls in love with Connor, works on the side with a man who calls himself Juliann and things get a little complicated. I thought the book was a little disorganized and things are too hidden, but I am assuming there will be at least one more book to explain things and solve things.

Alice is in a bit of pickle. She has to choose between the kind of forbidden yet formidable guy-Matthew, her boss who recruits her to be his assistant and Connor: a almost cop who she meets in a coffee shop. Very interesting story, but comparing to to Off limits series that was light, in my honest opinion, this was is a little darker. Very intriguing plot line. I loved it. If I could I would give this book 10 stars. Allie, great job. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
An interesting fun story. This engaging storyline has lots of twists and turns leading to many different things with multiple leads making it interesting. Each character different in their own way. Leaving on a cliffhanger who really has Alice's heart, it Matthew's business getting shady and many kore. Mathew, Connor, or Julian each seems to capture Alice's heart at seperate times but looses it before the next one picks it up. Looking forward to more to actually see whoo will keep her heart. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
Alice found herself working for a billionaire as a personal assistant and from that she was introduced to more of them in what seems to be a shady organization with dangerous people. When she meets Julian she is instantly wary of him but ends up asking for help to save the company she works for. Her boyfriend Connor ends up breaking up with her because of her interactions with these men and he’s afraid of what it could do against his aspirations to be a cop.

I enjoyed this book. There were twists throughout and definitely leaves you hanging as to the rest of what’s gonna happen. Can’t wait to read the next book. Loved Connor as I’m sure everyone does and Alice is witty.
Well this story has a lot of action happening in a couple of different ways. Criminal activities, crushes, sex, breakups, hookups and a fast paced story make this an interesting read.
Characters come to life and the story has just enough suspense to keep you wondering. Great summer reading, especially if you like characters to root for. Great when you want to cozy up with a good book.
I don't like to leave bad reviews so I'm just going to say this was not one of my favorite stories. Reading this to me was like watching my dog chase their tail. Instead of twists and turns, this story just ran in circles and then ended.
