Brielle(Elle) and Andrew(Andre)meet as rivals as they both have an interest in a highly sought after piece of artwork. One, Brielle wants to acquire it by legal means while the other, Andrew would rather take the less desired but oh so much more exciting and fun route. When these two realize that they have more common interests than just the painting, that’s when the fun really begins.

The French Thief is a suspenseful romantic read that’s a mysterious journey of murder and betrayal. The flow of the story is a little slow in the beginning but once the players in the game are revealed along with some back story about the main characters things really gets interesting and takes you along for the ride until the very end. The romantic interludes between Brielle and Andrew adds just the right amount of spice to make for a very intriguing love story. If you’re looking for a romance full of mystery with bits of betrayals and murder, you need to get your copy of The French Thief.

This was a good book. Brielle and Andrew go through a lot in this book. My emotions were all over the place. Thankfully they were able to overcome everything. Especially after what he did. Even though it was for her own good. Needless to say, they deserved their HEA.

I read the first book in this series and enjoyed it. So when the opportunity came to read the next installment in the series, I jumped on it.
I think me and the other reviewers read a different book. Although it had potential, this book just didn’t do it for me. It started off as a plausible plot, but it kept getting more and more involved centering around a painting and a secret order, that to be honest, I didn’t buy into.

For some, maybe this worked, but I just couldn’t connect. The characters were well written. I especially enjoyed Georgette’s character! Brielle and Andrew were believable as a couple for most of the story.

If you like this sort of intrigue from long ago, you may find it entertaining.

I would read another book in the series by this author as I do like her writing style. But this one is 2.5 stars for me.

Can They Get Any Better???

These stories just keep getting better and better. If there is a complaint to make it's why is there no showers after so much sex? One scene in particular, where they have sex and galavant all over town and new wash anything. That's just nasty!!!

Brielle/Elle and Andrew/Andre. A great story with lots of mystery and intrigue. The art thief meets the art historian in unusual circumstances or is it? They have a joint interest in a painting thought to be lost during WWII. Their interest in the painting at first are poles apart until they plot to steal it together. But other forces are at play and this leads to an abrupt end to the budding romance. Years have passed and Brielle now wants revenge for the wrong done to her.
She sets out to make Andrew pay but will she? Forces are again against them, what future do these two have as their romance does international? Are they once again going to be crossed lovers who collide and explode apart or they going to come out the other side with a future? A great story.

Wonderful!

Brielle is a strong black woman and find trust hard to give. Andre`love the energy he brings to the story. I never liked Helene or her derogatory remarks concerning Brielle. Love the epilogue.

I thought this was a really intriguing, witty, and chemistry driven read. I loved how the story was laid out and the plot in general. Loved both Andrew and Brielle's character. I have never read about about an art thief before so this was a fun look into the life. I was intrigued after reading the first chapter. I will say that I found the climax and ending to be very short. It all got resolved so quickly when I was expecting more, especially when it comes to Andrew. I would read more from this author. 4.5 stars

This is the second in this series and unfortunately, I had to turn to the KU read as the audiobook was completely not to my liking. The book was quite enjoyable for me and I thought Brielle and Andrew had their share of pangs throughout this story to get to a very needed HEA. Step up from the last and hope the next in the series is even more enjoyable.

This had one of the most unique plots of any romance stories I’ve ever read and I ate it up. Usually I HATE third act breakups but this one was SO unique and necessary that it didn’t bother me. The plot couldn’t move forward without it and I loved it.

Intrigue and romance combine
What an interesting book full of twists and turns that kept me guessing right till the end. The plot was multi faceted and the characters had depth. The emotions and chemistry between the characters felt real and I was so relieved when they were eventually rewarded with their HEA!

What is stolen once can be stolen again...........or can it?

The French Thief is the second book in the An International Legacies Romance series by Camilla Stevens. I read the first book in this series, The Italian Heir, and really liked it so I wanted to read this book also. The French Thief was a bit of a different book than I was expecting. There are some sub-plots that happen which I did not connect with regarding the overall story. But Camilla has once again woven a very interesting story with good characters and intrigue, suspense, and of course romance.
Overall I enjoyed The French Thief and would definitely continue to read other books in this series as they are published. I just wonder what the country the next H will be from.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Really different and exciting!
Although the book started out slowly since it contained a lot of the background information needed for the rest of the book, it more than made up for it at the end.
Brielle and Andre are formidable characters that refuse to give up on each other even when faced with death. There is a lot going on under the surface, and at times it requires close attention to not get lost and a break to digest everything that had been happening and get ready for the ensuing events.
Looking forward to reading more by this author!

Vive la New York et France!

I loved reading this story and enjoyed the mysteries revealed! Andrew/Andre’s history was a bit confusing to follow and had to read it a couple of times to get the gist of it, but finally understood his family history. Too bad Brielle/Elle got caught up in all of his family drama and had to pay a severe price that cost her a bit of time after all that she went through in her childhood. I hope that there are plans for more International Legacy Romances to be released as this is the second one that I have read that have brought me joy.

I really LOVED the beginning of this romance. The back and forth between Brielle and Andrew was fiery. I felt Brielle's backstory was handled really well. Andrew's story for me for a little confusing although his motives were well plotted. Overall the ending felt rushed and I felt let down since it happened off the page. The epilogue was great! 3.5 rating.

Yes yes even if you don’t speak french. I got an ARC of this book even though it is not something I would normally pick and boy am I glad. This is a marvelous book. Don’t worry if you can’t speak french, Camilla has a great way of working around that. The combination of modern day a ny history is handled very well. Romance, history, suspense all in on really great book.

The Prologue pulled me in and I couldn't help but to keep reading! Andre and Brielle had a common interest that put them together, but their mutual feelings for each other kept pulling them toward each other. The backdrop here was Paris and we get to experience the sights and culture. This was a phenomenal read and I highly recommend not only this book, but the series as well.

The book opens up with a mystery you are dying to solve. Andrew and Brielle were two people who had gone through trauma in their early lives. They made a nice couple once they opened up to each other.
I wish that there was more about the Werewolf Order and that more could've been written showing the resolution of the mystery. The epilogue was great.

He was kinda of funny but some parts were crazyyyyy😭. I liked how the book opens up with an unsolved situation and then you read to figure it out.

Him calling her a salope?!?!?! Brother-🧍🏾‍♀️his grandmother being hella racist? chileeeeeeeee during black history month? Jail. The first half was the best part no lie. And them wandering the city like they didn’t just get a death threat? I beg
