A new world, and new threats!

The Val'ayash invasion of Earth had been defeated. New deals were reached with both the Qash'vo'tar and the Zhal Confederation. But, Earth has one advantage that no one in their universe knows about. The portal to Ethorria.

Captain Kane Reinhart leads an expedition deep into the lands of Ethorria, an alternate version of Earth in another universe. His mission, to find new allies that can teach Earth more about magic and help them against the Val'ayash. Because in order for them to stand a chance against more technologically advanced races in their own universe, they need to improve their magitech. But Ethorria has its own problems and dangers.

Remi, was born for a purpose, raised and trained unlike any human before her. She is a Dragon, a product of a secret program designed to create super soldiers. Her only purpose is to safeguard humanity. But serving alongside Captain Kane Reinhart brings its own challenges, because she and her siblings were born as products of stolen genetic material. And Captain Kane was her biological father. Struggling with feelings that she had never felt before, Remi has to navigate the growing relationship with the Captain, all while she kept him from finding out the truth.

Magic Stars is the third book in the Universe on Fire series, an epic science fiction series with fantasy elements. It follows humanity as it attempts to make a place for itself in a hostile galaxy.

Author's note:

This book series is part KalVerse. All of my books take place inside a shared multiverse, and some characters crossover from series to series. But it is not required for you to read all the series in order to understand what is happening, each series has its own set of characters and storyline which is contained inside of that series.

Moderately solid entry in that series.

This entry is more focused on the fantasy side of this scifi-fantasy series about magitech. This changes quite a lot from the first books who had a very different theme.

My main beef with this is a bit too much deus-ex-machina with multiple interventions from the overall "god" of Ivan Kal's multiverse, Oxylus. One would be acceptable, two are probably too much. I almost dropped the rating of this by one star because I think it's a weakening of the series.

I loved it! This is where the series really takes off. I could not put this one down and gladly spent my lunch hour and any other spare time to ravenously consume this one. This was one that really highlights the authors strengths with good pacing, excellent immersion with his multiverse theme, varied action and plot twist. Admittedly the first book in the series took awhile to set things up and capture my interest and then with each book it gets better and better. Well done!

I knew this series was a mix of sci-fy and fantasy magic.... but I didn’t appreciate how awesome or intense that mix would be until this book. It seamlessly and fully integrates magic/fantasy with a science-fiction/space opera to create a compelling story (even more than the previous books)..... coupled with Kal Verse stuff from Rise of the Empire and knowledge from Tower of Power.... dang this is a good book.

About time

Finally a book in this series that is great, took two other tries but we are finally here. The story was great, the development was steady and not forced, the twists were believable and organic, and the end phase was subtle but powerful. We have a series to be excited for, now please don’t mess it up!

A good story, let down.

I have really enjoyed the past two books in this series and was looking forward to the new one. Unfortunately this book i feel has been let down by a lack of proof reading.

Dragons!

Some good foreshadowing? And resonates with others series in universe. Some good politics overrun with magic fight. Magitech for the win.

It's always fun when there is a blend between science fiction elements and fantasy elements. With this one being the 3rd book in the series, I can't wait for the 4th!
