Buffalo Dance
Cimarron Jack Wheatley is one of 1890s America’s most popular Wild West show stars, and a visiting European royal must have him as chief scout on a goodwill buffalo hunting expedition on the high plains of Colorado. The visiting monarch wants the whole Frontier West experience, Indians included. Conflicts are inevitable from the outset, however, when the U.S. State Department assigns Colonel Phil Gunnison to provide security for the foreign dignitary. Gunnison’s disdain for Wild West performers is exceeded only by his love of the bottle and his hatred of Indians. When an unidentified assassin makes an attempt on the life of the expedition’s royal guest of honor, accusations fly, and factions take to fighting in defense of their claims of innocence. The resulting confusion and distrust make it even easier for the determined conspirators to take another shot at their target. Will Jack, working without the benefit of a badge, manage to identify and stop the assassins before innocent guests—in addition to the visiting royal—face an untimely death?

Steeped in the actual history of the game, as well as societal realities of the times, these stories feature both fictional and actual characters, teams, and leagues.
A graduate of Louisiana State University and Dallas Theological Seminary, Hutchinson has lived in Costa Rica and Spain. He currently resides in upstate South Carolina with his wife, Carolyn. Besides writing, he enjoys spending time in the mountains and horseback riding whenever the opportunity arises.

How the author successfully completed this outstanding masterpiece, while suffering the loss of his parents, is somewhat unbelievable, but it is one of his best performances yet. He is certainly blessed by a Higher Authority, as the words simply flows across the pages in one heartwarming adventure after the other. I have been privileged to read all of these exceptionally outstanding episodes, enjoying each new one more so than the previous!
Any story by Mr. Hutchinson is five stars successful, and this one would have more, if they were available! Jack certainly goes above and beyond in this outstanding version of realistic old American western folklore tributes, which teeters on the edge of realistic action from beginning to end.
Natanne certainly plays an exceptionally talented part in the outcome of Jack's attempts to reconcile the death of his wife and the attempted murder of technology German aristocrat! Outstanding storylines and the character selections could not have been better. Too with the loss of Jack's wife, I thought the series might be in jeopardy, but bringing Natanne aboard might be the "shot in the arm" to keep the series alive. Outstanding, and descriptive, rendition of what may be perceived as a warm and friendly reminder of how our West was finally conquered and settled.
Most definitely recommend this outstanding western masterpiece to all readers,but especially to you hard nosed western lovers of realistic American folklore extravaganzas, as this one is one of the most endearing, and compassionate experiences you will ever have the opportunity to follow! You non-western readers will be more than satisfied if you will try this superb rendition of realistic western adventures. Never a dull moment throughout the entire book!😀

Enjoy the story
This was a great story, but so many characters it became confusing in the middle. To many of all the characters 2 of each plus soldiers and Indians were enough. You are great at the mystery but you didn't use this as your main center of the story or to big of a story, not sure .

Good story
This story had just about all you need action, drama, mystery, sadness, and a semi HAPPY ending. I was not expecting the one twist, but you'll have to read it to find out

The Western Is Flourishing!
And this Western, in particular, will hold your attention from the first to the last word! I have read literally dozens of Western novels, and GP Hutchinson is one of THE greatest Western storytellers!
