I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "REBEL ANGELS" This was a terrific box set full of suspense, murder, abuse, secrets, lies, betrayal, intrigue, magic, dark romance, twists that have you glued to your seat. Violet was abandon in London the human world as a baby when she turns 21 she comes into her powers when an Angel appears and takes her into the supernatural world her life is upended. Violets parents and siblings are pure evil both of them powerful one Angel the other Vampire Fallen Angels making her half Vampire/half Angel she has to fight ger enemies to save her chosen family from her biological one. This was quite the adventure a very addicting read the charcaters were well written my first read by Rosemary A John and I definitely recommend to get this complete series so well worth the read.
ONE EXCEPTIONAL COLLECTION!!! Thrills and chills! Scenes, characters, location and details are written with such realism there's no trouble interpreting each scenario as they play out catapulting this baby to life colorfully. Twixt and twined and stretched to unbelievable limits blasting this baby together piece by piece flawlessly. Pushing through all the trials and tribulations along with intense storylines and swirling plots mixed with those spinning emotions that propels this baby to life beautifully. The realism and authenticity of the characters as their on point personalities blend and connect along with the graphically detailed scenes that thrust this little jewel together smooth as silk. Fantastic job Betsy, thanks for sharing this little gem with us
I tried. I really tried. Dnfed in the first book. But my mind 'reckons' that this series is not for me. After reading all the five star reviews, I thought this would be an amazing ride. A good beginning, but later it just got so confusing, too much happening, and there should have been a trigger warning... There's a dark side of slavery involved. Anyway, I couldn't connect to the heroine (Man, I actually forgot her name) and the guy Rebel. Oh, and the word 'Reckon'. So many times she 'reckoned', it got annoying. And if I notice something, then it's in my mind forever, and I spent skimming through searching for the word. Lol. Anyway, I guess this series is not for me, but don't go by my review.
Angels, Fallen, Vampires, Humans... this has it all
Ok so it’s not perfect but heck it’s close. These books have had me gripped throughout. I had so much difficulty putting it down, I just wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen next. The author is a genius at weaving multilayered stories within the books and the series. I’m addicted. I was sharing the emotions of the main characters as they fought, lived, learned, loved and mourned. Rosemary knows how to tap in and make you feel like fam.
What a great complete series. Full of intrigue, suspense and a wild ride. It is a fresh spin on a genre that is really refreshing. Once you start reading you can't stop. It is an amazing read following Violet and her fam! And a series you won't forget. There are so many amazing characters and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Grab your books and settle down and enjoy! A definite must read!!!
Rebel Angels: The Complete Series by Rosemary A Johns is an amazing box set to read. If you love reading about vampires, angels , thrilling magic, dark romance, and adventure in your story . I highly recommend this amazing box set to everyone who loves readin about vampires, angels, thrilling magic, dark romance, and adventure in their storie as much as I do.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Omg this book series has had me hooked for over a week !! Bought it as a complete set as I’m impatient when it comes to reading a series. Bloody hell Rosemary didn’t disappoint in the slightest , I’m obsessed with Violet and her band of gorgeous supernaturals !!! I recommend this series and this author highly and can’t wait to jump into another book by this author *****
Such a wonderful series by author Rosemary A Johns. These are all page turners. I couldn't put them down. Filled with such wonderful characters. Rosemary A Johns is a amazing author. I love reading her books.
This is a wonderful complete series. Follow Violet as her world as she knew it is changed as she discovers powers she didn't know she had. Come along for the ride as she grows in her powers and becomes stronger as a person as well throughout the stories. I loved them all and think you will as well.
This is an incredible series that stars with Violet discovering she has some powers to the realization what she truly is. It's intense, suspenseful, heart-wrenching, all the feels.
Holy hell! Like woooooah! Now that boxset was something else. This series has everything! Darkness, love, hate, angst, suspense, steamy goodness, intrigue, action. I could list more but I think you get the picture haha.
This was one hell of a ride and not just at points in the book but throughout. It was simply an exhilarating journey from beginning to end. For those that are looking for something outside the usual box of vampires and/or angels storylines then this for you. The characters are complex and you aren't always going to like them. In fact you are going to want to throttle the life out of them on some pages, and then smother them with love on another...bloody fantastic right?! And this is why I loved it so much... It's realistic, no one always gets on, like any friendship or family you undoubtedly butt heads, sometimes on small things and other times on major things, for me it brings a sense of realism into the characters and the dark world that they live in.
If you are up for a wild ride then get yourself comfy for something truly magical to unfold in front of your eyes.
This series didn't disappoint! If you are a fan of angels and vampires, this series is a fun one to read. Rosemary gave a different take on the typical vampire/angel stereotype. The hierarchy she created as well as the different characteristics made them very interesting to read about. Violet and her guys' characters are complex, fighting their past, their feelings of inadequacy, their grief, etc. They really have so much depth to them and you don't get to fully understand them and the reason they act the way that they do until a few books in, but it's so worth it to stick around. They really are amazing and I'll miss them. This book revolves around thriving on being different, being the outcast and knowing that it is ok to be that way. Fam is fam.
Another thing, if you've read Rosemary's Rebel Werewolves series before this one (like me) and are a fan of Mischief, you will be in for a treat! Tons of backstory here and you really get to connect with him as a character more in this series.
Great characters and plenty of action with lots of twists and turns throughout this series
"You can be a prisoner in a cell or in your mind. A prisoner to society, your conscience, or whispered self-doubts. In a prison of family or love." This thought rings so true to me
A great box set and i loved the fact that Violet (FMC) was based in London to begin with. Loved Violet's no nonsense, down to earth attitude especially with all of what happens to her throughout these books. Loads of hot supernaturals in her gang/family too and its such a fast-paced read that keeps you glued from the beginning to end. Just Great
First off, I absolutely love box sets because you don't have to wait to read the next book. Ok, this series is really good. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. I was hooked into this world and needed to know more and needed to know now. The characters and stories will suck you right in and won't let you go
I have never read a story with a FMC like Violet. Violet was abandoned by her mother and grew up in the system. She has no idea she is supernatural till she turns 21 and comes into powers. She becomes a supernatural(Vampire/Angel) this story has so much action, Murder,Secrets, betrayal, and Romance. I don’t know why I waited so long to read this series but dang I am sad it is ended!!!
I really enjoyed the storyline to this series. The characters were annoying and not relatable. The lingo was shite , unnecessary overuse of the word bastard, the whole fam is fam line doesn't fit. For a tough nut bitch of utopia she gives out chance after chance for someone to hurt her. The series reads as if it has been written by an angsty punk goth loner that grew up in London gang land territory. That said the story itself and the characters are gripping, as annoying as is is to read this type of narrative. This author's imagination is brilliant. I just wish it translated into written word as well as it happened in her mind. The scenes in the story jump story more than a box of frogs. On more than one occasion I had to backtrack a few pages to see if it was me who had skimmed and not fully taken in the change of scene, but it wasn't just me, in aspects like this the passage of writing in question needs fleshing out that the readers mind can keep up with the pace. It happened at least 3 times in just the first book and occurs in every other book. Another aspect of this series that needs improving is the build up of relationships between the characters, blink and you will miss it.
Wow what a series to read. I loved reading all the books in the one place as the vampires and angels battle it out. I highly recommend this collection of stories as well worth getting as they are well written and will capture your attention from the beginning and won't let go. There is plenty of love, tragedy, friendship, magic and many twists and turns on this exciting adventure as Violet battles her enemies.
This is a good series of books with an unlikely hero and a story full of twists and turns that will keep you interested until the end. The main character will do anything for her chosen family and isn't afraid to say what she thinks
I am so disappointed because the synopsis sounded so good and I've been saving this series for the long weekend when I will have enough time to dive into the story and immerse myself in a new world, but I just can't.
I have no idea what the heck is going on or why. I mean I can follow each scene, but as far as a coherent story, forget about it. Every sentence is like a half finished thought. I dislike the descriptions; I don't need a simile and/or metaphor for every dang thing. I find the slang jarring, I really hate the internal monologue style of story-telling. I have no idea what motivates the characters to act the way they do and everything seems kind of disjointed and non-sensical. I'm not even sure if the supernatural are normal (as in out) in this world because Violet has absolutely no real reaction to the revelation that Rebel is an angel and she is at least part-angel, though revelation is a bit of a stretch, mostly it is just stated as a fact.
Enough, I have now read another chapter because I was trying to convince myself to stick with it, but I can't. To each his own, but this was a huge disappointment for me.
OMG what can I say, this box set bored the pants off me! Sorry that's just my personal feeling, but I thought the book/s would never end.
In today's world with stabbings n knife crimes on the increase that's all this book/s managed to talk about. Shanking with a weapon or verbally which can hurt even more than a strike!I
Based in Hackney London to start with before heading to different worlds to do some more Shanking to all the bad villains before the end of the 5th book were they all get to live happily ever after. . . . . Or do they??????? I don't know but I won't be spending my money or wasting any more time. 5books is more than enough for me to stomach.😁 Hope if u do read them u enjoy them but personally definitely not for me
I picked this book up because I had read Rebel: House of Fae in the Wicked Reform School series. That was the one that interested me in more books by this author. This series was so intriguing to me. There were times when I was tempted to put it down, but something always drew me in deeper. Reading the series in on book definitely made it easier to keep reading!
Rosemary A. John's is amazing! This series was a fantastic read, I couldn't walk away! I felt like I was right there with Violet as she journeyed through the life she was thrown into. I felt her emotions as the story went on. I loved the darkness in the story and thought it was very well written. (I will definitely read it again and again) This series also punctuates the point that family doesn't have to be blood.
Ummm. I hate giving bad reviews. But I'm no quite sure what I just read. I tried really hard. I could not rally behind anyone. Even the FMC was wishy-washy to me. Everything was way drawn out and long and boring. I did like the plot and idea thats why I gave it to stars and thats embellishing a little. I am so sad I really wanted to enjoy this series 😢
