Bluey is a 6 year old Blue Heeler pup who loves to play. Her parents and teacher give her lots of time to practice, which means she’s become very good at inventing games, helping everyone choose their roles and deciding on the rules. Her favourite games are ones that involve lots of other kids and grown-ups (especially her dad) and she mainly likes to pretend she’s a grown up doing grownup things herself.

Bluey is an Australian children's television program by the Emmy award-winning Ludo Studio for ABC KIDS and is co-commissioned by ABC Children's and BBC Studios.

Bluey: The Beach: A Lift-the-Flap Book by Bluey

This Aussie themed board book is so adorable, it’s based on the hit ABC KIDS TV show BLUEY and it’s going to be popular!

Bluey is a blue-heeler pup and in this story she’s off discovering the beach with her family. What child doesn’t love a story involving cute puppies and for even more fun it’s a 'Lift The Flap' book!

This book would make an ideal gift!

We all love Bluey!

My View:
Delightful! WE all love Bluey – young and old. This book has a charming colloquial Australian voice and is full of humour and of course great lessons for the young people.

I think this book will be the hit of Christmas – the BEST present! And the good news – there are more in the series to make birthday gift buying during the year easy.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Bluey is on another level of introspection and depth. AND IT’S FUN? What more can we ask for?

On the surface, your child may be learning new names of beach animals and enjoying the building suspense of Bluey’s beach-side adventure.

Yet perhaps, they are picking up on the complex mystery behind a love for the simple things - like walking by yourself along the shore. Or maybe they start to unravel Bluey’s ability to overcome challenges and the importance of remembering where you’ve been, who you are, and that feeling you had once you’ve made it through a set back. They might even absorb the lesson of moving through fear instead of avoiding it.

All of these nuggets make this book worth reading, but there’s not much that tops your toddler getting particularly excited at Bluey’s reunion with mum.

special read because i read it with my little brother!!! the first story book he’s ever read, well listened to
as i was reading it out loud, in english and it was with his favourite show!
the beach is one of his favourite episodes, so he was really excited that he got this book.
i looooved that although the dialogue was written in the bluey font, it was such a fun read.
my brother rates this 10 fingers up out of 5 fingers up, so that’s how yk it’s good.
special mention goes to the seagulls because my brother thought they are cool and he hopes to see them too when we will go to the beach

My grandson enjoys the show "Bluey" on the telly - it truly is a lovely show - and asked me to read this book to him during our recent visit.

In full disclosure, I’ve never watched an episode of the hit-television series BLUEY. I first heard about the series from customers at work who begun to hound me for information on the books months prior to their release.

Upon first picking the book up and reading through it, I was instantly blown away. Not only is the narrative text well presented (no more than roughly four lines per page, and cleverly placed across the page to engage the reader in every aspect of the story) but the bold cartoon illustrations are vibrant and pull the reader in right from the very first page. Each page should feel as sudden assault to the readers sensors with how bright the colours used are, and how they are contrasted against the textured patterns of some of the backgrounds (think lines, swirls, patterns etc), and yet, it somehow just effortlessly works so well together.

The lift-the-flap element gives the book another later of intrigue and tactile involvement, as readers are actively participating in the story. Although lift-the-flap elements are nothing new, it’s interesting to note that they are always childhood favourites, but are elements used sparingly alongside big name characters like Spot and Peppa Pig. While widely popular, I was still surprised to find this element in the book, but loved the surprise none-the-less.

My friend and her kids are big fans of the TV show Bluey and I totally see why!

Her youngest asked me to read this book which is set on the beach when Bluey and her family go there. Mum decides to go on a walk alone and Bluey asks why she likes being alone! Bluey then finds a shell she likes and decides to catch up with mum but there are a few obstacles along the way.

I really enjoyed this book. It is interesting with beautiful pictures and also has a good message about solitude too. I recommend the TV series if you have young kids. It has won awards for a good reason!

Keywords; playful, dogs, beach

Summary; Bluey: The Beach is the adventure a little blue heeler pup named Bluey takes while her family is on 'holiday'. She pretends to be a mermaid and she fights off tiny crabs, a bird, and fights the water that's coming up to catch her.

Prompt; This text is fiction for sure! I know this because there are no real talking dogs (that we know of). It's a fun text for lower level children because they can also relate to Bluey and the other adventures she goes on with and without her family.

Bluey and her family head to the beach. Mum heads off on a walk along the shore by herself, and Bluey can’t understand why she would like to do that. After a little time playing in the sand Bluey decides to catch up with Mum (after Dad’s ok) and her adventures getting to Mum may help her understand.

This felt a little stilted, like someone tried to boil down a TV episode into a book and didn’t work with the text all that much. I’m sure it won’t matter to Bluey fans.

Pup Bluey takes some brave steps toward independence while on a family visit to the beach. This is a sweet, relatable story about new experiences, observing their environment, and gaining confidence, as well as a lesson for parents about letting kids take reasonable steps toward doing things on their own.

Grandie gave this book to Jack, and she brought it out for our road trip back to Mississippi. I think he liked the book even better than the TV show because it doesn't have the scary music when the pelican shows up. He seemed to really enjoy the different animals and objects Bluey encountered and was happy when she found her mum.

The tv episode is better but the book is still cute. It’s a great book about kids getting a little independence and overcoming fears about things that they don’t have to fear and learning to be brave. Also a great summer book or vacation to the beach book.

Bluey is trying to follow Mom down the beach but different sea creatures keep getting in Bluey’s way! In order to reach Mom Bluey needs to be brave & think their way through each obstacle.

A fun book for any Bluey fan, best read with toddlers in your lap :)

I bought this one for Miss Four because she loves Bluey: Fruit Bat. She was super excited to find this book on her shelf. Plus it has lift-the-flaps which she loves.

A delightful lift-the-flap based on one of my favourite Bluey episodes. Worth it just to see the "pipi coming up for wee wee", which gets a laugh 100% of the time.

It’s the tv episode as a book. Still, my 1 year old loved it. (Ok, so did I, the first time at least).
