Reluctant step-siblings Julia and Colin meet for the first time at an engagement party for their parents, and dislike each other on sight, despite their obvious physical attraction to one another. They soon find they have a common interest, though – stopping the inappropriate and hasty marriage of her mother to his father. When they discover that the recent death of her father might have had something to do with his father’s business, they become allies. But what will they do about their own sizzling chemistry?
I honestly don't know why I kept reading...way too long to get where it was going...truly not believable that so many "security people" could make so many mistakes. Love is good when both parties are on the same page...these two weren't...even at the end.
My Review: Recoil by Natasha Stories is a 2019 release. It is a standalone novel.
About the Book: "Reluctant step-siblings Julia and Colin meet for the first time at an engagement party for their parents, and dislike each other on sight...
When they discover that the recent death of her father might have had something to do with his father’s business, they become allies."
In My Own Words: Insta-attraction. All is not what it appears to be. Dark, criminal elements. Steamy spice.
My Final Say: This book was a NO for me. I did not like it, which came as a bit of a surprise, especially considering that the premise seemed so very intriguing. The listening experience was laborious. I had to continuously pump myself up to keep pushing forward.
I love a good romantic suspense novel, but this one was...a lot. Sometimes, you just never know how a story will hit. Oh, well. I'm glad others found it to be to their taste. I sincerely wish the author well.
